I'm having to go into the boot menu and use "standard bootup" to boot the device. When you go to power on the device it goes to black screen Ap fast boot. So I'm assuming the boot.IMG is messed up?

Can someone point me in a direction (this device or other) in order to change the boot splashscreen?

Sure. Are you rooted?
Sure. Yes.

The files are in qmg extensions. Same place as before.
System\Media
Looks like the old replace the zip may not work here. I'm sure a hacked kernel will or has been released. Not too sure since I just step on the scene.
I'm working on this though. Maybe someone can chime in for a better solution.
The boot animation and splash screen are different . splash screen would not be in /system

Hmmmmmm......Indeed.
I found a tool on IRC to help with compiling a rle file, however it seems the write protection enabled on the device keeps the change from sticking after reboot. Is there a write protection exploit for our device or even a way to flash it in there?

I'm coming across that problem too. *sigh* Start Up phone woes. :banghead:

All I have flashed is the update and the new supersu files I needed, what effects will flashing a new boot loader and radio have? And where can I get them?

Not many noticeable effects but it might sort out your issue.

I'm running Slim kat 4.4 ROM and everything is fine with the actual ROM but I've no idea what has happened because I cannot boot into TWRP or CWM via ROM manager, uninstalled and reinstalled ROM manager but no luck, it just stays at the Google screen and I have to hold power button and volume down button to restart, tried to boot into recovery that way but again it just stays at the Google screen.
What could possibly be wrong here as It was fine last week and I dont recall flashing anything else.

Ya it sounds like you need to flash recovery again
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks but how can I do that, can I use flashify, and can someone kindly point me to the link I need to flash.
I've no idea how this happened, is it something to do with android 4.4,ROM manager usually works fine and I nearly always use TWRP.

So after much searching I managed to finally get it sorted.
Download the latest TWRP image and upload it to Dropbox and flash it with the flashify app and it booted into TWRP and just restarted.
Phew that's a relief

Just use the "recovery tools" app from Google play.

Everytime I try to install a rom or any zip file in cwm, it could all files and everything but towards the end it says error loky-fying or something like that. Thanks to this my device was stuck in a boot loop for a while. It installs like 1/4 of the rom. Enough to see the boot logo and then it reboots.
I also got this error installing the white display and see through notification panel. Although it is working fully.

If so is there any known workaround at all?

You can't unintstall Samsung Hub with Titanium Backup, it breaks rotation. You can freeze it or remove it with a Root Explorer type app and it will work fine.
How do reinstall the Samsung hub to get my screen to rotate again?
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Here it is, I uploaded it to my Box account for you. Just move it into the system/app folder and change the permissions to match the rest of the files then reboot.
Permissions should look like:
Owner X X -
Group X - -
Other X - -
Just be sure to make a backup first in case it doesn't work for some reason.

If you removed it with TiBu it may have removed other files associated with Samsung Hub, you're probably going to have to flash your ROM again. I've have to do it for the same reason before.
I did not flash a ROM. Just added Exposed installer and Wanam. Very frustrated I appreciate your time in helping. Would a factory reset work?

I need some serious help. I have tried many times to fix this and still no screen rotation.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You're going to have to start over by flashing a stock tar file with Odin or you could try booting into the stock recovery and doing a factory reset. Do you have SafeStrap installed?
I do not have safe strap.

You're going to have to flash a stock tar in Odin or do a wipe data/factory reset in the stock recovery. The reset is the 4th thing down in the stock recovery.
I have tried several times to do a factory reset in recovery. I can't get into stock recovery.

You don't need a ROM installed to get into the stock recovery, since you can't get that working you're going to have to use Odin to flash a stock tar file.
Is their a video on YouTube for this?
