It would be very useful to share that ....
Did you know that apple usb ethernet nic model:A1277 works (via otg)with xperia Z without root nor unlocked boot loader . That mean you have 100 mbps wired to your phone!
Very useful while downloading games or updates ...

Thanks for share mate, it sounds interesting!
So you have really 100mbits or is it a theoretical value which the Z don't reach?

Before on wifi i got copy/moving speed about 1mbps on the wired i got over 5/6mbps
Do you know if it's possible to activate a Wi-Fi hotspot when connected to ethernet?

interesting
can you change the configuration? like IP address, DHCP?
Or maybe can you try 1000mbps NIC?
But of course I know USB speed is limited 480mbps theoritical,
just need about 200-300mbps maybe.
anyone tried this with different cable?
eg this?

I saw similar in one of shop for about 20euro... if it would work that would be awesome...

Hello
I am going to move to a new building and because is new there is no DSL nor cable yet. It might be available in one week or even in 3 months, no one is able to give me a date. So I will use my HDSPA flat rate until I can use the DSL or cable. Since I do not have any HDSPA modem, only the HTC Touch HD and the HTC P3600 (this one only has 1.8 Mbps download down-link speed) I thought that maybe I could use the HTC Touch HD as my temporary modem but I wonder: Would be 8 hours of daily usage too much for this device? Should I buy a HDSPA modem instead?
Thank you for your recommendations

I mean normal modems become too hot when you do an intensive usage, the Blackstone it is not designed to be just a modem, so... Also maybe even a 3,5G connection will probably make a modem become hotter than a ADSL/cable connection (I am guessing that, I have no idea about it).
I used my Touch HD as modem for my Sony Vaio for about a month without encountering troubles. Yes, it does get hot but if you are in an air-conditioned room the device doesn't get as hot.
I am now using it as a wi-fi router using Walkinghotspot without any problems.
Modem Instruction?
Hi All,
This is probably a dumb question...but where can I find instruction on using Touch HD as a modem for a laptop? Googled it but couldn't quite come up with anything.
I know the rough steps...connect via bluetooth, etc. But not sure what to do after that...and I've tinkered w/o any success...
Thanks!!

You could use internet sharing, some roms have it included do a search see what you find, it can connect via bluetooth or USB and then select ur preference for gprs etc
I was doing some reading about N900 used to jailbreak PS3. Is it possible for someone to use the released exploit code, and use the Hero (Android OS) to do the same thing? Instead of trying to build the dongle from parts.
Hope I'm making myself clear!
~Google( N900 used to jailbreak PS3 )~
~Google( psgroove )~ <-- exploit
And how do I get link restrictions removed from my account.
Thanks
what are you going on about?
There is a new exploit out for PS3 where it puts the system in debug mode to do all kinds of fancy things. And the only way a while back to enter this mode was to buy a USB dongle that was programmed to unlock this exploit.
But now the code has been release to the public for anyone that wishes to try and build the dongle .... but someone has successfully unlocked the PS3 by using a Nokia N900 instead. So I was wondering if any of those smart developers out there thought about trying that with the Android OS on the HTC hero or any Android OS phone really.

Carazy stuff here. I knew I had all this PS3 HDD space for a reason.
bookmarked this thread.
My friend has a G1 ... I wonder if he'll let me use it to try it out!
[email protected] it! Sony crushes my dreams again!
http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Updates/Firmware-3-42-UPDATE/m-p/46149179
Will they be able to port it to the new firmware?
I would hold off on update but I must play MW2! ...sad but true!
you cant port psjailbreak to 3.42 it uses and exploit to launch it into debug mode, with that update sont removed all dev and debug modes in retail units. the hole has been opened and now they can explore all software aspects of it all. the only thing i can recommend is to use the proxy trick to get around and connect to psn without updating

Yeah, you're better off not updating and either finding a friend with a Palm or getting the stick.
Sony is worse than Apple.

Humor me on this proxy trick via PM, would you please?
Here I'll do one better, Logan5 PS3 Proxy Tool can be used to work around the update. You can also use the 67.202.81.137 IP again as your primary and secondary DNS server to bypass the update.
Not sure how long it will last used to do it back in the days of 3.21 but for whatever reason sony is letting use use em again

Tried and it didnt work. Will try again right now, didn't know it had to be secondary DNS as well.
Is there still people working on the jailbreak for HTC hero?

Hi all!
Just bought myself a shiny new X10 mini pro and think it's rather fab, however i do have one problem with it and i hope you guys can help.
Internet works fine until I try to use wifi. When i turn on wifi and connect to my home wireless network i can't get online, despite being notified on the activate wifi page that I am connected. i entered the wep code to connect to the network in the first place so it can't be that so any ideas?
Thanx in advance.

That means you need to post in the correct section.
In this particular case, the X10 mini Q&A section.

including a custom modified usb hub (no Y cable needed) with keyboard and mouse.
currently trying to get a usb audio stick to work and some other device which is just for fun, it would need an external screen to make it useble.

you can find it here.
they are a bit harder to make but worth the extra effort as you don't waste any usb ports.
and it looks nicer offcourse.

I'm trying to run v0.3, but getting stuck part way through boot. My kernel is in a panic
Will update when/if I can convince it to keep calm and carry on.
[EDIT] Panic over. Must have been to do with the folder name on the root of the SD card. Did not work with "linux", "ubuntu", or "UBUNTU". But works with "LINUX".[/EDIT]
I was running it before I switched to NAND android. I was really surprised by how responsive it was,i thought it would be more laggy. Can't wait til MAGLDR can boot it

yesterday i updated that page, you can find a link to a step by step guide now.
here it is
talking to the mods for how to handle this on the board, we decided to put the same manual here on the board to give support for the people trying to build them.
but under the android general and QaA section, as this should work there to and on meego and on other models of phones.
links are gone be added to both the ubuntu and meego helpfull links section.
plopper.
Is there a way to load ubuntu from magldr correctly ?

not reported so far.
the only wifi problem seems to be related to channel 12 and 13, so check if 1 of those is in use, if yes, change and try again.

couldnt manage to change channel, "no such device" but 2 days ago i could find wifi network, just couldnt to join it, and now theres nothing. I tryied to find with wicd and by terminal. Always there was response like i dont have anything to join network with.
But now thats my second problem, because i want to use wp7 720p recording (so i dont need to buy mini hd camera but wp7 sucks if i want to "work" on my phone so im trying to find some way to use wp7 and be possible to boot ubuntu. Any ideas of something like this possible? or maybe theres a wp7 bootable just like ubuntu? :> ( dreaming )

Please check your router settings. I had also trouble with the connection to my router. I find out that the MAC adress of the HD2 is different when WIN is on ore Ubuntu is on. After i take the new MAC adress to my Home network everthink works fine.
