Hi guys, I am attempting to unroot my phone and I am getting stuck at the "download mode" part. I enter download mode by holding + key while I plug in USB, fine. But then my phone goes to the "firmware update" screen and just sits there at 0%, saying "rooted" in red at the bottom. My PC shows a dialog box that says "installing drivers", but after a few minutes it says "failed". I've done a factory reset hoping that would help, but it didn't.
No clue what to do... any help?
ps. I attached a screenshot of my pc.
Any help, anyone?

Hello,
I couldn't boot my Galaxy Tab (european version) anymore, so I decided to flash it. Everything worked well, it rebooted but still got stuck at the same postition than before (Galaxy Logo). So I rebooted again, but now I have a white cellphone, a yellow exclamation mark and a computer symbol right upon turning it on. I can't get into download mode anymore. The only button combination that works it pressing volume-up and volume-down together with the power button. Then I get to a "POWER RESET or unknown download mode" screen. What can I do?? Please help.

Happens/happened to a lot of guys/galls. Me too...
In Odin i picked repartion and used the pit-file from Roto. Also used the JMI-build van Roto . So get the files here:
http://files.deodexed.com/ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet/Rotohammer/JMI/
Its possible that after the succesfull flash you have to flash the baseband-modem. Flash the baseband in Odin- phone. You can find the latest here;

You say 'lsusbs' does not show?! Are the drivers installed? If not update the drivers., and try flashing again.

No, in Linux it does not show up when I type "lsusb", which means list all usb attached devices. As soon as I was able to flash with odin (in a windows vm) prior to that it showed up in the list of devices attached to my computer.
So, when it is not in flashing mode but stuck at the "GalaxyTab Samsung" bootscreen, it cannot be detected neither by Windows nor by Linux. So I can't access it with adb (Linux) or with Kies (Windows).
From my G1 I always could access with adb when it was stuck at the bootscreen.
I believe it could have something to do with a protection built in the bootloader. How can I replace the bootloader?

I am opening a new thread for this, since it is a different problem than the original question.
I tried to upgrade to 2.1 with official LG update but it just got stuck midway so I unplugged the USB cable. When I restarted it just kept freezing on the android screen. Then I read some posts and used the KDZ Updater in emergency mode. Everything went OK and I restarted the phone. Now when I press the power button, it just vibrates and nothing else happens. Any ideas on how to get out of this mess? Thanks.

If above also fails, feel free to take it to the service center.
Don't unplug USB cable unless the updater quits with an error or takes more than 2 hours(excluding download time)
Try using the official LG Service Tool again.

No problem.
I downloaded ROM Toolbox Pro and was busy trying to change the icons in my status bar. Suddenly, the program crashed and the only way I could get out of it was to shut down the device. When I tried to start the device again, I got stuck on the boot animation. I tried to go into recovery mode, but all that happens is that I am then stuck on the white Google logo. Have I broken it? What can I do?

go into the bootloader, plug in via usb, then select recovery.
I get the option the "Restart bootloader", but when I select it I get a black screen followed by the Fastboot mode screen again.
Edit: Ok, got it, thanks!
Sorry, I am limited to 8 thanks per day.
Oh dear, it's not over! I tried reinstalling the ROM but that failed. And now when I go into the bootloader, plug in via usb, then select recovery, all that happens is that I get stuck on the Paranoid Android animation. What can I do?
Edit: Happy ending. I've sorted it out.

Hold the power button until you get a black screen. Download LG Mobile Support tool and the LG Drivers. Plug USB In and then hold the Power + Volume Up key. On your screen, click Upgrade Recovery. From there, you can do a factory reset through download mode of your phone.

In case you did the latest firmware ota upd, there is a topic that can solve you problem as long as you can access TWRP(even if you didnt do the ota it will,i tried that myself) Here is what you need to do.
use TWRP's "terminal command" option to run the following:
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
You'll have to type that whole thing out, and be VERY careful with spaces and punctuation. One wrong letter and you could nuke your phone.
This will probably fix you problem when it has to do with any update.
Thanks for the responses. I finally fixed it.. I started the procedure from scratch with a new laptop and somehow it worked lol

It happened to me and now phone hanged in download mode and can not connect to pc. Did you have a solution?
Solve
Guys! I had the exact same problem today. My solution was to keep pressing the "try again" button every time the error appeared on my computer screen. It took some time but the error was appearing at different levels each time in this order : 45% 57% 65% 80% and next the instalation was completed. If it doesn't work try switching to another computer if you can. After the firmware update hits 100% your phone will restart and the LG logo will appear(the led changes its color during this process). At this point you have to just wait a while. Then a dialog box will appear saying that the applications on your phone are configuring themselves. After that your phone will start and work normaly. The cause of the error is the lack of memory on your phone. If those idiots working for LG would say "YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH STORING SPACE" this stuff would not happen.
The phone is not rooted!(IMPORTANT)
Phone name: LG G2
Phone model: D802
Old software: 4.4.2 (KitKat)
Actual software: 5.0.2 (Lollipop)
I hope this hellped you solving the problem.
My lg optimus exceed 2 will only display on screen firmware update which is froze the phone won't do anything Please Help! !!!!

Hello
I can't access my LG g2 after trying to wipe the system and it runs on frozen screen. Kindly help out please
My LG x power died and I went to plug it in and a screen popped up saying,"Firmwire Update 0%", so I kept it plugged in for the next half an hour, and it still said 0%. I've tried resetting it and powering it off but nothing seems to be working. What do I do?

My LG V20 got stuck on the Firmware Update screen. It appears every time I restart the phone and I have to take the battery out. If I start the phone plugged in it starts normally. I was able to do a factory reset, the phone started normally a few times without being plugged in, now it's back to the Firmware screen. I can use the phone but need to restart when it's plugged in. I hope Oreo Update will fix it. I don't know much about updates, but do big updates like that reinstall the drivers as well?
Hello everyone I also have this kind of experience so many times in my g2 mini.stuck on Firmware update. What I’m doing is,
1. remove the battery to turn it off. Plug your charger and before plugging it to your phone hold the volume down and plug in until tou see the android is updating; or
2. Just simply hold the powerbutton + volume down until you see Android is updating.
I would love to see your feedback if it helps.
Just received the 4.4.3 OTA Update, downloaded it and then followed instructions that required me to reboot in order to install the update. After rebooting, I got onto the screen where the green android Logo was there and the update was getting installed. The progress bar indicated that most of the installation was done when suddenly the progress was replaced with an "Error!" message just below the green Android alien. I tried to switch off the phone and switch it on again, but now the phone doesn't start, the Google Logo shows up but after that the screen is just blank. Would appreciate any help on get this to work. My phone is not rooted and I don't have any custom ROM's installed on my phone just FYI.
I've also been able to take it to the screen where you have the green alien and then a few options that we have to select with the volume buttons ("Start", "Restart Bootloader", "Recovery Mode" and "Power Off" ). Selecting Start from here has the same effect as before the screen stays blank.
Also tried getting into Recovery Mode, but that just gives me the robot with "No Command" being displayed on screen.
Would appreciate any help on getting my phone working again!

Can I still do that even if USB debugging is not enabled? What would be the best way of doing this? Not worried about data, as I had everything backed up and I've already tried a factory reset and that didn't do anything.
