4.2 Camera OR 4.4 Camera? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As for my perspective, when I managed to switch into 4.4 Kitkat OS via OTA download of LG, I would say I am satisfied with the quality of 4.2 Jelly Bean OS version than the 4.4 Kitkat OS. I don't have a clue but did LG have changed something with the settings or quality of the camera in Kitkat version? Please Let me know

i have same problem with camera after 4.4 update :S

You have issues with camera after update to KK? Interesting, i'm on ls980, and the kk update improved camera 100 times better. I have Parkinson's so the ois was a feature I looked. Kk camera takes great pictures now, where it took forever to focus before and quick click of the shutter would give junky pictures before.

No I did not. I'm afraid to.

camera is fine in main app, but using video calling with wechat and hangouts and tango is very very bad, this wasn't the case before the update? what do i do here , i didn't root the phone, stock everything stock

We have to report it on LG since some of the owners of G2 are fret to do such rooting right?!

that's rooting in process.. I'm afraid doing that again.

Ah, yes, so it is... well, that is the only thing I could suggest. I will soon get 2 D802 units, one for me and one for my girlfriend. I am not too bothered with the camera but my girlfriend is very fussy about it. So I will attempt this update on hers and see how her camera performs vs mine and let u know

Would that be possible to root your phone just for the camera app?

You can also get the feature by searching for Android 4.2 camera apk on Google.
http://www.chip.de/downloads/Jelly-Bean-4.2-Kamera-Android-App-APK_59836907.html
By this variant there are no extras like HDR, it is the pure Google Android Camera.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33499248 --> here you have a flashable zip. But I dont know what functions it includes.
Sorry for my bad english

[Q] Stock Razr M 4.1.1 Camera

I have recently upgraded from stock 4.1.1 (rooted) to unlocking the bootloader, and installing AOKP 4.2.2. Loving he battery life but didn't love the camera. So I decided to download the S4 camera. About the same results. Not thrilled with the camera. It's got me missing my Stock Razr M 4.1.1 camera. Is it possible for me to reinstall that? Can somebody provide a link to the Apk if so? Also open to suggestions for a better camera, but thus far I miss my old camera.

did you have a backup from TiBu? but either way, still prefer 4.1.2 as that enabled photo taking during video recording.

Good point I'll check. I am not sure if I backed up the cam or not. I don't think I did. I was never on 4.1.2 so I never used that cam. If anybody has the cam I could sure use the Apk!

Thankfully the camera was in my titanium backup. The "gallery" did not restore as it just hangs when I try restoring, but I can just use QuickPic for the gallery. Still open to other cam ideas with a good, working HDR option.

[REQ] Android Kitkat Camera in LG G2 [no root]

Hello guys,
I am new here so wanted to know if there is a working Android Kitkat Camera APK for a non root LG G2.
Photosphere in LG G2 Stock Camera is not that good for me and I wanted to make use of the Camera app used by Nexus 5.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

Similar question except on ROOTED phone.
I'm running AOKP Nightly from 2/8/14, but the camera options only let me adjust to 8MP which seems kind of a waste on a 13MP camera. Any suggestions on fixing this (app or instructions on flashing apk)?
Thanks in advance

Camera issues. Please help

Hey I'm currently having a problem with camera apps which are lagging/freezing my phone up. The only way to make them work correctly is to covert the app to a system app. Anyone know why this is happening? I have tried a few ROMs which are asop kk, not tried a stock ROM .
EDIT: tested a stock rom and camera and play store cameras are fine. Anyone know why i'm having problems with ASOP roms?
Which camera apps did you used?

Sorry I have a I9505, and tested first *whistle camera selfie* (this froze instantly) then, camera zoom fx and a better camera. the stock camera2 worked fine. roms used C-RoM asop, cDroid simple. and slimKAT.

If you want ALL the camera working as you should expect avoid aosp roms or similar.
I am also waiting for a working CM rom but I daily need my camera working at my finger, so I stay with 4.3 ROMS.
Cheers all, bit of a shame really. But guess I'll have to use stock roms then. Wish TW has asop Lockscreen and blurred to see wallpaper

Stock lollipop ROM? I didn't notice any difference. LG camera app does a better job than google camera though, which can't seem to do 60fps.
