I see one other user posted the same question but the only response didn't understand the question.
Is there a way to downgrade my LG G2 that came with 4.4.2 so that I can root my device? Or, is there an alternate root method since IORoot still isn't supported?
I have a friend who has a Sprint LG G2 and they just pushed out 4.4.2 and he has the same audio sync issue as I have now. Youtube app is fine but games and the netflix app have out of sync audio. I had planned to root as soon as I got the phone but I'd be OK without rooting if I wasn't already having an issue.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Hopefully I'll be able to get that going easily.

I just ordered a G2 and I was wondering, if it comes with an android version higher than 4.2.2, maybe kitkat 4.4.2, can I still root, install recoveries and roms on it???
This is very important to me, if I can't do that it would be just a freaking huge loss.
Thanks in advance.
Depends on what model number where you purchased it from and and also what country there's a good chance it will have 4.4.2 but no way to know until you get it

Think of it like this most new devices will come with the lasted firmware.. All you need for g2 is model and think of latest firmware and start researching
Thanks

for g2 on 4.4.2 kitkat...
root.....towel root ... done, then install supersu from play store if you want control over root
custom recovery... autorec... done
Thanks all. The phone should be here in 5-9 days... if they don't f*** up. Hahaha.
I will probably post a follow-up in this thread again when that happens
Can't wait to be another lucky user of this phone!!
Hey Guys -
My apologies if this ends up being a stupid question but, is the Verizon Samsung S5 running Android Lollipop rootable?
I've been searching around the forum (and Google) and it seems like there was a root process but the loophole got closed. So presently, is there no way to root this phone?
I think half of me is just surprised that a phone isn't rootable so I just wanted to double-check.
Thanks in advance,
K

You'll have to downgrade to NK2 and follow this.

Sorry, I have another "stupid" question then. I have 4.4.2 NCG rooted phone. I found out that I can update it to NK7 (even though I'm afraid to do so, since my last attempt to upgrade to 4.4.4 worked fine with the exception of Xposed Moto Tether, which is one of the most apps that I'm using). My question is if it does make sense for me to update my phone to rooted L and have all the trouble with drained battery and crashed apps?
Is there any new hopes for rooting updated N900V (lollipop)?
The lollipop update just drains my battery. I miss my old rooted 4.4.2.
Is there a way to rollback and root?

I am also looking to root my sm-n900v on 5.0 lollipop because I cannot stand the Verizon nonsense clogging up my device. Also, I leave for Europe on the 9th and was hoping to use local sims instead of Verizon international. I was under the impression Note 3 was unlocked for this kind of use, but when trying to use a local sim in Mexico, I was told the phone was locked. Is a rooted phone necessary to switch out and use an international SIM? If so I must scramble to figure out another option as I was hoping to root my device, not understanding this was not possible. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I don't have any experience with this program, and I haven't done much searching on these forums, but maybe have a look at this?

Use at your own risk I guess. Let us know if it works if you do try.

Tried it, doesn't work
I also tried and no success by one click root..
I dont know how they have put that post on their site if it is not working at all..they mentioned it clearly for note3 sm-n900v lollipop.
It is ridiculous to do so..disappointed

I agree. Leading us on but no root.
I'm waiting too
So there is no possible way to root a lollipop Verizon Note 3? That is a bit crazy but the only reason I wanted to root was to remove the pre-installed apps. Please update if anyone has figured out some way. I wish these phones didn't come with all this bloatware. The Samsung apps are fine but Verizon are the ones I'd like to get rid of or at least some of them. Thanks!!

Dead link?
There is no root for the n900v 4.4.4 or later versions, and it doesn't seem anyone is working on one.
At least that was a direct answer! ugh just bummed out now because I was forced to come back to this phone after my other one got a tiny splatter of water on it and freaking DIED.
I really wish someone would

Is the bootloader locked as well? If not can you flash a custom recovery like TWRP?

Really? Any source for this I can read?
This has kind of put me off rooting it. The first phone ive heard of that rooting it causes to break some standard functionality.

This is dependent on which kernel you flash. In @emdroidle 's thread about root coming for the H990DS there's a bunch of different ones with various fixes. I'm personally using the Jahlex v0.2d and video works fine, as does camera focus.
Hello folks
I never used Android without root but looks like NO NO for this device.
Is there a root out there for this LG phone ? LG V20 LS997 ZV7 which I assume is version 7. I tried some auto root software but no luck. Looks like LG is not popular here. Phone is not bad but if I can root it .
Thanks in Advance for responding.
No root yet. There are some people still working on it.
Also the g5 and g6 forums are also working on it as far as i've been able to find though search.

Yes. Up to zv7. I have root now.
loopytee. Really??
loopytee: how did you do it??
If you do a search, there is a thread on how to use the VS995 KDZ to roll back, and then flash the Sprint firmware back on the phone after you are rooted....
Remember folks search is your friend.
EDIT: In the search bar on the left I typed in "ZV7 root" and the first hit was: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/root-ls997-to-zv9-t3696488
