I used FreeGee to try to install a custom recovery after root. First TWRP, stuck at performing action. Then CWM. Then the older CWM. Always stuck at performing action. The old CWM worked. Reboot to recovery and get security boot error. Looked around on forums and found a CWM batch install that everyone says works for them. Still recovery boot error. Anyone know what's up? I'm on AT&T D800. Rooted by ioroot25
Also RomManager says I have both recoveries installed. Thinking this might be the issue. How do I delete one or both and get on the right track?
I think I have the same problem. Could u solve the problem?

Safest way is to go back to stock 4.2.2 first, then root with IOroot then install recovery.lok

Thanks again for quick help however I have checked the downgrade process and its too long plus I have to download stock 4.2.2 firmware which is 1GB plus in size..
So is there no easy method to install recovery on already rooted stock 4.4.2 firmware?

No, no easy one, and some might even say none at all, but you can read the rooting thread where they discuss recovery as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887

What version of twrp? Sounds like you may need to update.

I've been unsuccessful in getting any roms to work. I tried 4.2.2 rom and got lg screen then black, had to restore nand backup from twrp recovery but it was hellish to get into, had to do the hold vol+pwr precisely, almost gave up. So, reverted to a backup just fine.
Next tried to loki_flash recovery 2.6.3.1 (then was going to do them in order-2.6.3.2>2.6.3.3 [have not tried going directly to 2.6.3.3) and was hit with an unsupported aboot error (device mismatch).
So now i'm going to try and use flash tool to revert back to 11A, root, install twrp (I hope this is possible and I don't brick my phone [i'm new to all of this])
Anyone tell me if this is an acceptable option to proceed? Thank's in advance.
Acceptable. KDZ to 11A.
Just wanted to post I was successful using lg flash tool to revert to 11A, rooted, freegee twrp, flashed 2.6.3.3, flashed OSE ROM. Everything is well ATM!

I have a rooted D802 and I wanted to install recovery. I'd surf and search and tried a few solutions but without success. Everytime It stuck on boot and black screen with some error message about bootloader. I've tried TWRP and Philz, nothing. I have KK D80220B_00 (A6HUBK).

This tool downgrade KK bootloader and install patched kernel because KK bootloader can't be lokifiable and KK kernel can't boot on JB bootloader. And that's why you couldn't install a recovery.

Had the same pb. Ended up using autorec app.
I will advise to read the thread first. Some people experienced issue while doing it. I didn't, what I did is I downloaded paranoid android and flashed as soon as I used the app.
I have a D803 but it should be similar.

Verizon LG G2
Rooted
Installed TWRP
Without thinking (doink) tried to install the latest OTA.
OTA failed.
Now I cannot reboot into TWRP.
Installed ClockwordMOD and installed its own custom recovery. Still won't boot into any custom recovery.
Phone works fine other than that.
How can I get back into custom reccovery?
Note: When I turn phone off and try to reboot into custom recovery it takes me to the "reset" screen.. and then IT RESETS the phone.
When I try to boot into recovery from Clockwork or TWRP app it gives me the android robot with the open tummy and red triangle.

The OTA update installed the KitKat bootloader, which hasn't been hacked for custom recovery yet.
Use this to downgrade the only the bootloader and install custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
You have to root frist. You can use IORoot25 to root the KitKat rom that you have now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232

Ok.
The KITKAT rom didn't install properly..
Phone says 4.2.2
Super user and apps that need root to work are working properly. Looks like the bootloader is the only thing that got hit.

Oh. Not sure if AutoRec works if you are still on 4.2.2. Sorry bout that.
If it doesn't work, you can always just manually flash the complete firmware using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. Surest way to get back from failed flashes. You can flash the full 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 KDZ and then start over again. That method wipes everything though.

HELP
I am screwed here.
#1. Tried the "unbrick stock" solution. Can NOT get it to work. I tried it all 3 ways given and it gets to the LG driver start... and then it says I am up to date. I tried to change the country, the language, upgrade recovery, can NOT get it to work.
#2. I can get TWRP to load. But I can't get my computer to recognize my phone so I can move a rom over
#3. I can't get ADB to recognize my phone.

save yourself the hassle flash stock 4.4.2 KK, use IORoot25 to root and then use Autorec to install Custom recovery.
Time needed 1 hour.

Hi folks! I have a Galaxy S4 GPE, rooted and unlocked, but stock otherwise. When I try to run the OTA update for 4.4.3, the phone reboots into TeamWin recovery and appears to start installing. The install errors out though. Can I not install the OTA update because I'm rooted? If so, would reverting the rooting allow me to install? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Is there a thread on how to do that? I seem to remember when I installed this recovery tool to root the phone, it wiped everything. Is it going to do that again? Because I don't want to have to keep wiping my phone every time a new Android update comes out just to be rooted.

I went through that method, and it's essentially the same thing, except that I'm downloading the actual update file myself and not letting Android handle it. Needless to say it didn't work. I also updated my TWRP to 2.7.1.0 and tried; no luck. I also uninstalled SuperSU to see if removing root would help. It didn't.

It's the problem of no read for be vague. It worked perfectly on the GPE of my sister. The update that appears in the website is ready for install it through custom recovery. Read all the guide:
I was able to root fine with the ioroot, but now I'm following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670&highlight=loki+tool and when I get to the point to flash the recovery with loki_tool I just get this screen.
I'm on a Verizon G2 (VS980) and still on 4.2.2.
Using the 2.6.6.3 TWRP img.
Any ideas?

Have you tryed FreeGee from Playstore?
Read in the same thread you show that someone got recovery with that apk.
Just download TWRP 2.7.0.0 and you should be ok.
Nevertheless, read the last pages of the thread you mencioned and you will find a solution.
EDIT: Think I got my recovery using this method:
