Are we able to somehow use the LG Navbar (possibly with the customization options?) on AOSP ROMs?
By LG Navbar, I mean the long-hold home for recent apps and the menu key on the navbar.
EDIT: Wow, I've just been really dumb today. I really never think of Xposed.
Xposed framework, my friend. Google it. Also Google gravity box. Many rooms have this capability built in though.

Many ROMs do, but I don't know any AOSP ROMs for this phone that do. They let you put just menu, home, and back on the navbar, but they don't let you assign long-presses, except maybe PAC (used to use it on my old phone, but don't remember if you could assign long-press).
Mahdi does. It has amazing battery life also. I use it personally. You can assign long presses and rearrange/add buttons. It also has other typical customization options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590700
Grab the 3-18 build and give it a go. It's better than any other rom at this point at least on the vs980 but it works with any g2 variant.

I tried it, but I didn't notice any differences between it and CM11. Then again, I only used CM11 for like an hour when it first released on my last phone. Plus I'm trying to stay away from CM now that they've gone commercial.

This is my phone on Mahdi. This is what you were looking for, correct? The button options? It's under settings/more... /system bars/navigation bar/buttons.

So far this is pretty sweet. It isn't too far ahead of (Or different than,) our stock launcher, but it is pretty fun to mess with. Dig around in it if you install it, I keep finding neat features.
Oh, from what I understand from reading the posts about it, the zip contains 4 APKs. You MUST install all 4 of them in order for any of it to work.
The widgets probably only work on the home that comes with this. That's what I did and it works. I am running pretty much stock rooted with the V8 Bootloader. I think that I.C.S. is really the only requirement. So it might work with many ROMs.
Enjoy!

It works and does look pretty cool I must admit. But you're right, sadly the circles widget only works on the included home app. If it ever works with third party ones such as nova prime it shall earn itsself a place on my home screen.

It has many clocks including the Atrix Ring, works with any launcher, I have it on my Razr with apex and looks great.

Hello,
I am new to Evo 4G. Mine came with Android 2.3.5 which may be the latest official ROM for this phone. Before I start trying out different ROMS, I thought I'd ask for some recommendations.
I usually prefer the stock Android look and feel. But it seems like there isn't a CM10 release for this phone that is stable. For example the one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785498 appears to not support either of the cameras. This is not a huge deal breaker but a bit of a bummer.
Additionally I would love to save the screen real estate by keeping the capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone functional. Is there a modern ROM that uses those buttons instead of giving up screen space to new virtual buttons? This one is kinda important to me.
Thanks.
Decks reloaded is an unbelivable rom, with all the sparks and whistles its cm based, but runs 10x better than any new phone could posibly I flashed every week until I found this rim its been my daily since may, thats saying a lot, and everytime I flash another rom, I just go back, no errors at all just follow directions, everything is perfect on flash, its under original development, happy flashing I'm sure you'll love it

Hello!
I'm working on a theme for TouchWiz, giving it an AOSP-like look in terms of status bar images. Just wanting some opinions on how it looks so far.
I was planning on releasing it yesterday but ran into a few issues (probably why some of you saw it yesterday and it went within an hour).
This is probably in the wrong section, but since it's related to themes & apps, thought I'd take a punt and post it here. Screenshots below.
Cheers.

Thanks man!
I was thinking of doing that actually...I need to refine some more things anyway.
Great!
OMG, this is what I have been waiting for. I am so glad you are deciding to do this please keep up the impressive looking work. But the thing that will determine its ultimate brilliance is whether or not you keep it up-to-date at compatible with the latest roms. if you can do that and keep up this standard of awesomeness with your work this will be the one and only theme I will ever use dues to the sleekness of Holo and the fact that I love the blue and black colour combo, just make sure the theme is consistent. Sorry for the rant and thanks again for this.
I dont think having it blue all over looks good. Follow the AOSP look?
Yes go for it! I love holo themes

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)
I flashed a ROM recently which had a nice feature - the navbar showed equalizer bars when playing music. I was wondering if anyone knew where to find this feature outside of the ROM I used.
I can't for the life of me remember the ROM name because I've slept since then lol
Any help would be appreciated.

Give a try to Xposed frameworks, and search for a module that gives you that feature. I recommend looking into Gravity Box Xposed module, since it has a lot of such features related to the UI.
It was created by dirty unicorns and now screwd room has it

The feature is called Pulse and it originated in the Dirty Unicorns ROM. It has been open-sourced now so other ROMs can implement it.

Pulse isn't a feature of Gravity Box.
