Title. I was wondering because my phone seems to rattle more after i dropped it, well the ois anyways. I know it is normal for them to rattle in the first place, but was wondering if it hurts the ois.

I'm on my second N4 (first was changed for a note 2) , and they both have that. I think that is the vibrator , because as you see in the picture , the vibrator is out of any kind of structure.
Thats what sounds, I dont think is bad... but o course try to avoid any extremelly hard hit of avoid droping it (maybe this can be worst for the back glass than for the vibrator).
So it's normal.... It anoys me too but well, I have to let it go.... at the end this is an LGE phone :/
It's the lens components, parts are moving and that's how it focuses. When not in use they kind of move freely so that is why it's making noise.

What's the freaking deal with people not being able to hear me on the other end when I have speaker phone on. I have to literally shout for them to barely hear me! Pointless to use speaker phone with this POS

Is your microphone plugged with lint and dirt?
Do you have a case? If so, maybe its covering up the mic?
No lint in it and no case. I am on CM right now but it did the same thing with stock. Not sure what the deal is or how to verify whether its software or hardware related.

Hi.
I've got a weird thing with my phone (i9505). when i tap the screen at the top, or even next to the speaker, it sound like something is loose. Screen works just fine, touch also.
Does anyone else have this?
Could be manufacturing defect.
Should i return it and ask for a replacement?

I'm not sure if it's what you describe but I noticed that when tapped a bit "harder" or put to the table with a little force, there is a slight vibration which feels like something is mounted on "rubber"...not sure how to describe...it's more like a part has a buffer which prevents it from being damaged. It really might be the camera lens or some other part swinging and I don't think something is broken.
My S3 also hadn't that kind of feedback when tapped. However it doesn't make any noise so I'm not sure if it's what you mean...but also it might be that same part just being broken in your phone if it's rattling.
Probably just the vibration motor. If you hold the back to your ear and tap the front, it sounds hollow (or like a drum).

Try tapping the same area on a display s4 and see if you hear the same thing. A real display too not a dumby phone.
My htc Dna did this and it was the lens. Verizon brought out a brand new dna and it did the same thing.... Lol good luck

Virtually every device forum on here as the same thread.
Its part of the camera lens that moves internally is the answer on every thread.
Noticed the lens rattle too. Sounds unnormal, but I went to the Shop and the Galaxy S4 there had the same "issue" while tapping on the upper Display Area.

I just went to the ATT store for the same reason. There is a plastic cover over the camera lens. Peel it off, the noise goes away..
There is no issues never has been, never will be. Its the autofocus in the camera.
That's why I set issue in quotes It's a constant sound while using the S4 and tapping the top of phone. On my S4 sadly loud, but according to the store no reason for a warranty exchange.

Anyone else hear a rattle near the earpiece if you shake the phone or tap it on the top corners? I also noticed my vibration doesn't feel as strong this afternoon, wonder if maybe my vibro motor is lose or something.
Didn't notice until i read your .
Its the same with mine. No problems with the vibrations.

Thanks. My friend with a G2 also hears it. I think it might actually be the camera stabilization, the sensor is suppose to kinda move around in there.
And I guess my vibro is fine, just my haptic feedback strength feels like a lot less tonight. Or maybe I'm crazy.
Yup, I believe that's just the optical image stabilizer moving about.
Only noticed this today. The rattle noise seem to come from the upper side of the device, maybe the camera or the sim card area.
I've searched a bit on the net, and saw that the nexus 4 and original Optimus G also suffer from this problem...

Yes it does. They all do. I believe it's a sensor inside the camera. It's supposed to move.

ok so then its not cause i have the vs980 honestly no phone should have loose parts id take it back if you can and see if you have the same problem?
Its the optical image stabilization that is shaking i can confirm it all devices that have this shake!
Mine does. It is very soft and faint. Its the OIS. In all variants.
Yup. Normal. Every camera phone I've every owned does this. I have the VS980 Verizon. It's the camera sensor. It's normal.

I have the Sprint version and it does not rattle no matter what plane I shake it in and no matter how hard or soft I shake it. If it is normal to rattle than I guess I have the broken one. However, I am NOT taking it back for one that does rattle.
My gnex rattle really bad. Lg g2 not. Yes it s camera but I think is rather focus particle than ois
alright yea i can confirm it... it makes a very feint sound i couldnt really hear at first due to backround noise haha sorry if i caused confusion
