So....I was rooted and couldn't get the update via OTA. Had to use the LG Assistant Tool thingy. That worked fine. So now I'm on 4.2.2.
The problem: my apn was wiped out. No big deal, I made it up again. But it's not working. Everything is correct; I've done apn settings a million times. I can't figure it out.
Also, it won't remember my wifi password for home. After a reboot, I have to reenter the password to connect at home.
Anyone have a clue?
*edit*
Never mind. I still have the wifi issue, but figured out the apn. I'm not even going to TELL you how stupid I feel.
I have the same issue with the phone "forgetting" wifi passwords after a reboot!
If you figure it out I would love to know why as well.

I found this solution on another forum, and it.worked for me. Perform at your own.risk:
You need root access then edit the build.prop on the line: wifi.lge.patch
It's set to true, so just change it to false.

Is the default apn profile the wrong one? I am currently at work and without wifi, would like to fix this to be able to at least make calls. As it stands, I believe nothing works. Texts, data, mms and calls. I am unable to edit the APN as well, which is odd since the default is incorrect. Any way around this? Will updating the prl or something restore my settings?
Fixed by using: "##72786# " to reset the APN settings. Will leave this thread in case anyone else has the same problem in the future.
Thanks! Just got back from Spain and even though I had saved my APN's before installing an Orange SIM card, it wouldn't restore when I got home. I was completely confused and tried several different things, but this fixed it!

Hello,
It seems I frequently lose my APN and Mobile data. Every 30-40 mins if not used, it's gone.
I have to go to Settings>More Settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names>APN (not set)>and type in: vzwinternet... a few seconds later it pulls the data and works fine. The next time I need it, gone.
I'm running Hyperdrive ROM at the moment but have tested Jellybean, Baja and a few others with the same issue.
I have reformated, deleted and wiped all rom slots in safestrap.
My search of this forum and of google yields me a previous issue similar to this on an LG from 2011, and google reveals people looking for APN settings but no real solution.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

It's not prepaid. It's not a big problem, just annoying. After I set the APN to vzwinternet, I save it. It still does not hold the settings. I am rooted, obviously, had have re-booted, and tried with other roms as well and have the same result.
Hi all,
I need help getting my APN to save. I use Cricket Wireless and their APN settings are here: http://buzzmobile.us/cricket-apn-settings/
The problem is the MNC is 004 for Cricket, but changing the MNC to that makes the APN not save. I tried adding the APN line by line to see which setting made the APN disappear, and it's MNC. I've had this problem now on Mahdi 5/28, Mahdi 6/15, and now Paranoid Android RC2. My phone is the D801.
It does seem to sometimes work if I change the MNC. The APN will disappear from the list every time, but sometimes it will set the APN correctly and give me LTE, but only until I reboot the phone and then it's back to not working. This morning it doesn't appear to be working even if I re-enter the APN, though.
Why does this problem exist on multiple ROMs (saving APN settings seems like REALLY basic functionality to me) and how do I fix it? And why do I see several search results saying "don't change MCC or MNC" when clearly that is incorrect advice? If Cricket says MNC is 004 and some random forum people say Cricket is wrong, well... sorry, but Cricket would know better than you guys (those who say to not change it).
Thanks
EDIT: I //THOUGHT I// FOUND A SOLUTION! Instead of APN type "internet" I decided to try "internet, default" and immediately LTE came on. I don't understand why it worked without setting MNC when I changed this, but hey, it worked and I am happy at the moment. However, it would still be nice to see devs fix the MNC problem. I'd delete this thread but I see no option to do so. Mods can delete it if they feel like it. Or they can leave it up in case someone else has the same problem and wants to try the potential workaround of adding the ",default" to APN type. I'd still like to change the MNC to what Cricket says to use, though, because they wouldn't tell us to change it if it didn't do anything.
EDIT 2: Workaround doesn't seem to work. I get a proxy failed error. It says LTE but nothing seems to be able to use it. I think I need the MNC changed after all. Is there any developer who has this working right? It's really frustrating to go through multiple ROMs/versions only for incredibly basic functionality to not work.
Edit 3: USB tethering seems to work, but nothing on the phone itself. Weird! AAAND now I took the ",default" back out and LTE seems to be there again. Testing the phone now. I wonder if there was some sort of data outage in my area earlier that was causing issues. And I just rebooted the phone and now LTE is gone again (and I made sure the APN was selected)... This is seriously messed up. My phone is behaving extremely inconsistently and I want to throw it at a wall at full strength at the moment.

Android reads the MNC from the SIM. APNs with MNCs that are different than the SIM's will be hidden. Unless you are using your G2 on the legacy Cricket CDMA network you should be using the settings on the Cricket website https://www.cricketwireless.com/sup...ice-byod/customer/bring-your-own-android.html

Huh. I wonder why I didn't see that link when I was Googling for the settings. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the link.
Odd thing is it's worked on and off with the old settings, including setting the MNC to 004 (even though it did make the entry disappear). I don't understand it. I guess it doesn't matter, though, if these other settings work. Inconsistency is the most frustrating thing, because it's not obvious that your settings are wrong if they work sometimes but not others...
Edit: I can confirm the settings from that link are working... for the moment. I absolutely would not be surprised if it just randomly stops working again in the next 24h. Maybe I'll get a different phone when that happens.
I did live chat with Cricket Wireless and asked them to make sure the link you gave comes up for the search I did which was "cricket wireless apn settings android". Hopefully they will listen to my feedback so nobody else gets caught in this trap. Anyway, thanks again.
It would also be nice if Android would tell you why it's hiding an APN you just added... I wonder if devs could add an informative text about that.
Help. I bought my note 3 the day it came out. I have been running Alliance build 1 since it came out. A couple of days ago I noticed my phone wouldn't connect to data unless I was on WiFi. The 4g icon stays grayed out. I could still send text messages though. But if I opened the my Verizon app, the 4G icon would brighten and it would connect to Verizon. But no other app can access data, even when the 4G icon was highlighted. So I hoped upgrading to build 2 would solve the problem. BUT NO LUCK. Now I can't send text messages or connect to data. Any body have a clue?
update
So I spent an hour on the phone with Verizon. They said they couldn't find any problems on their end, and we troubleshot my phone and nothing helped. So it is something going on with my phone for sure and not the network. Should I try another Sim card? Should I Odin another modem? Should I Odin back to stock and see if I can connect then to data?
Update
Well, I've tried several different modems. None of them worked. What I don't understand is why the modem will connect when I open the My Verizon app, but nothing else. Leads me to believe there is something software wise that won't let it connect. But it stopped working when I was on Alliance build 1 and that problem carried to build 2. HELP

Odin back to stock and see if still persists. If it does then it's hardware. If not then starting fresh and rooting/flashing the rom should fix.

Please any ideas?
So I Odined back to MJE. Still doesn't work. Odined back NC4 and the modem still won't connect. But the modem/data works. The My Verizon app will turn the data on and connect like normal. There has to be something keeping other programs from accessing the modem/data. Otherwise My Verizon wouldn't connect. Please can anybody help.....
Update...HELP....SOS
So it isn't hardware related. I just turned my Hotspot on. Guess what, the Hotspot works. My wife was able to connect to my Hotspot and use my data. BUT I still can't use it on my phone. Even when she was connected to my Hotspot using my data, I couldn't use data. How weird is that!? Please, help....
Did you actually Odin back to stock firmware or did you just Odin the radio?

Did you by and chance turn off Mobile Data in Settings->More Networks-> Mobile Networks

I am stumped.
I Odined just the MJE modem at first, didn't help. Then I Odined back to stock Nc4 firmware, did factory reset, didn't work. I've spent hours pouring through every menu I could find to see if there was something not turned on, then I did it again. I haven't gone into service mode yet. I've toggled data/airplane mode/global-ltecdma/anything else I could find hoping it would help. Still no dice. But the Verizon app still connects add well as my Hotspot so other devices can use my data.
Did you try your APN settings? With all that flashing you have done maybe lost your APN settings.
If I helped Hit the Thanks Button Like This?

Yeah, I checked them against the settings I have found on the Internet. I couldn't create my own for some reason though. The option is grayed out on my phone...
Update
To add to the confusion, data decided to start working again today. Looked down and noticed it was back on.
Hi there,
I'm using CM 12.1, 20150817 version. It's working well, apart from one really annoying thing:
My wifi will not reconnect to networks. Or at least most of the time.
If I set up a new network, it all goes very well, but as soon as I'm out of reach and come back in reach, something goes wrong. My phone sees the wifi network, but doesn't connect. It's in the list of available networks, but just doesn't connect at all. If I manually tell it to connect, nothing happens. The only way to get wifi data again is to tell my phone to forget the network and hook up to it again.
It's not just my home network. It also happens with the work network.
I told it to not avoid bad connections, so that can't be it, besides, the connection is typically very good. Other devices hook up without problems.
Any clues as to what could be going wrong here and how to fix it? My mobile data is going through the roof because of this.
Another thing, less annoying, but probably quite important to the developers is this odd phenomenon:
I traveled to China recently (from Holland) and after I arrived, I set the timezone manually to Chinese time zone. After doing that, time is in sync with local time.
After I did a reset, the phone's clock had shifted on hour back. The local time was off by one hour, and so was the time my phone showed for my home timezone.
I had to manually set the time to the right time, for things to be normal again.
Same happened on the way back, but the other way around. After a reset, the phone's clock was suddenly an hour ahead.
One other thing; somewhere in the last update I managed to loose root privileges. How do I get it back? I would like to give some apps root access.
Cheers,
Menno

Hey, Im not too sure about the Time changing problem, but I've found on CM12 that Root Access is disabled by default.
You need to open Developer Settings, Root Access; then change the setting accordingly.
Hope that helps

Hi Lenny,
OK, thanks, but how do I find out if I'm running the right modem?
Or where does one find the right modem? I just flashed the files from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lop/exclusive-antaresone-alucard24-s-t3066696 , using TWRP. I came from the previous version 12.0, but my OTA update had failed, so I did a clean install.
I'm assuming the correct modem would be in the zips?
If not, where can I find it?

Oh, go into About Phone, then find Build Number.
You have to tap at this button 7 times in quick succession and it should enable the Developer Settings back in the settings menu.
Be careful messing around in Developer Settings though, some options in here are harmless, but others can really screw with your Android
