Don't use the new themes on 4.3 it causes bootloop - Xperia SP General

Hi, speak from Brazil.
I'm here to warn you guys that the themes of Sony, those new (cute) themes simple put our Xperia SP to bootloop, don't use them in any circunstances.
I've made a lot of test in the firmware 12.1.0.266 and when i put any of those damn themes and turn off my phone, it justs enter in bootloop mode when i try to turn it on again.
Then i have to use SUS to recovery phone.
I'll repeat
DO NOT USE THE NEW THEMES IN ANY CIRCUNSTANCES.
UNFORTUNATELY SONY MESSED UP OUT PHONE.
just wanna warn you guys, sorry about the english.

Yeah what themes are u speaking of?
I tried.... Blue Water, Clean Foggy, Color Pixel, Craftsmanship, Noir, Amazing Spider-man 2, Tri Flat, Winter Snow, Woody and no one gimme problems.... well I lost volume bar xD, but all working good
I don't know if there are 4.4 exclusive themes, that ones could cause problems in SP, I hope u're not speaking of that (I repeat, I dunnno if there are 4.4 exlcusives)...

Yeaa

Yea, at first everything was ok for me too, then, after a month my phone just don't boot to android when i put any theme that's not android's default theme.
For example:
If i put the theme Rock on or Craftsmanship or even Comic Pirate the phone works flawless, ok.... when i turn off my phone, it gets to bootloop when i turn it on again, this happens with any theme that's not android's default.
The only fix for that is using sus and wiping all data from the phone.
Sorry about the english, im just warning you, it can happen to any of you...My advice is to not use them and preven't futures headaches like i'm having losing all my data because of those damn themes.

Root is useless, what you need is bootloader hack to enable custom roms to be install onto x10 like Android 2.1 or 2.2.
But bootloader will never happen because no one can crack it. The way it going I say never. These devs guys are not good enough and I dont think they're knows what they are doing ... just try errors.
Live with your x10 or get a real device like HTC or Apple iphone4 I say.
Just so everyone know I am a collector and I got em all (hTc, apple iphone, samsung, nokia etc) but x10i is not the best IMO.

Well considering the security that's implemented on the phone It's no wonder they're having difficulties. These developers mostly do it for free as a hobby and have created many great ROMs for other phones. What contributions have you made before you start rubbishing them and tout for business?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Install where's my Droid or some app like it as a system app so if u lose you're phone it wont matter if someone swaps sims or does a factory reset. U can still track it.
Use droidwall to limit what accesses data.
If u need support for certain languages u need root.
Use custom fonts.
Change screen density
And the list goes on...

How was I supposed to know?
I updated because it improved alot of things (faster boot up,more stable wifi connection and improved battery, plus the facebook inside xperia looked neat)
have you flashed your phone with a different image or is it an official SE update? i did the official update to 2.3.3 and had Rainbow 6 before and it worked perfectly after aswell. now i have flashed my phone with a different image with rooted 2.3.3 and now it force closes as soon as i click it.(in my case i think its because the Playstation app to download the games is not there, making the phone think i dont have it maybe because lets golf 2 is the same and i bought them straight off the xperia games app)
Yea I got the same problem mine just force closes right away it makes no sense

It's The Craziest Thing

Like an intelligent flashaholic, when I first rooted my phone, waaaaaaay back over 2 years ago, the firs thing I did was make a backup of my stock/rooted setup, then saved a copy on my computer. Every few months, I'll nandroid back, update any apps that need to be, then make a new, updated Backup.
Lately, I've been having a lot of problems with my phone, trying to run Jellybean ROMS, which has been a disaster. Even ruinning Kendall's Jellybread ROM, I have some issues with lagginess, occasional Force Closes, etc.
Yesterday morning, my phone was basically not usable, and not having time to play with anything because of work, I just flashed back to my stock/rooted ROM, updated it and have been running pure stock since. The weird thing is, it's the best my phone has run. Smooth, fast, everything working (Of course this is still Froyo, but still). It's just really ugly as hell, but it's amazing how smooth everything is.
OK, time to flash a ROM.....

Hey hip, got a suggestion for your next flash.
Do your backup thing, wipe as usual, then flash rom.
Only this time before you reboot, push your log to sd. Then view it after everything is done...
Reason im saying this is mine would be fine then not...when I pulled the log fron recovery it actually showed that I had bad memory blocks an it was unable to repair/format/fix them..
Now my phone was and is usable still...but I cant flash all the roms. Only one that 100% worked was mazwoz.
So its just a thought bro, figured I'd share what I found. And without pulling the log I would have never seen it.

Lol, sometimes I forget that signature is there cuz I cant see it on Tapatalk. One of the Nocturnal guys made that for me.
Anyway, the roms would mostly flash on my phone. But some just didn't. I was testing rom for soap, tronit, an shaggy an none booted for me but worked fine for others.
Then I flashed say jmz rom an it worked fine. I started to notice that things weren't working.

Are MIUI mtz's universal or device specific?
I they are universal. I have some on my pc that i used on both the og and 3vo that my ex gf had.
FYI I dumped the preinstalled ics theme. So now any theme will install for the die hard miui user and the black ice mtz will be installed on the sdcard. The jb launcher is no longer default you can choose on boot which one you want. Now to get the ICS effect you go into settings themes and choose black ice. If you use the jb launcher you will need to go under launcher settings and reboot launcher. Now everything looks ics even the lockscreen.

few mods for stock rom

So yes, i,ve stated it in the title.
I'm using Frosty Jelly bean from past 2 weeks.
and trust me by far the BEST STOCK ROM ever you can even think of.
it is way toooooo quick and smooth.
After the first update, i,ve requested the dev to add few tweaks for the the update but Unfortunately, the dev thinks that no one, else than me and him using his rom.
And he has kinda abandoned the work.
So the reason why i am writing this post is to ask you guys that is there any way that i can add these few mods to that rom without an update from the dev's side.
1- enter instead of smiley face in keyboard
2- navigation bar customization
P.s i,ve already searched the forum :$ but couldn't find any thing similar to what i'm asking for here :$
Else trust me guys the ROM is way more quicker than the STOCK it self.

OK here's what you do buy swift key that will fix the keyboard to what you want
Search play store for nav bar customization it's for root phones and only cost. 99 cents but allows you to change size and things like that. No reason for the developer to add these things if you can with out any coding

I know installing applications will keep it stock but you know things implemented by default play safe role in the smoothness of the rom :/
And the mods i guess once installed get sick to the rom.

1 - If I'm not mistaken the enter key is a .png inside /system/app/systemui.apk or /system/framework/framework-res.apk. Replace the png with whatever you want.
2 - Get frosty's source code, compile it and make sure it runs first. Next, get AOKP's github and cherry pick their navigation bar changes. Rebuilt, and see if it runs
Also, it's NOT A STOCK ROM anymore. It's still considered a custom rom. It DID NOT SHIP with the phone.
Well in this case it may be your only option as many of us just use the apps so we can have the option on all rom but at least the more you and I hat back and forth the longer this topic will be at the top I have stock non rooted but rooting it probably next week so I can flash an older base band and will be changing my nav bar with that app.

[FIX] Another WiFi Fix

Hello
Little history: I bought my phone yesterday, and i'm shocked with de poor wifi. So I back to the store do change the device, but th saleswoman said I can't change it, because of the contract that I've signed with Claro (Claro is one of the mobile operator in Brazil, and I bought this device through a fidelity plan). So I decide to fix or brick this **** and buy another. Fortunately, I think I was able to fix it and my pocket thanks it.
First of all, let's clarify somethings:
1 - I don't know a **** about developing, so don't blame me with don't work. I'm sharing this solution (that worked for me) because I'm extremely grateful to XDA since of my first day in Android. And to fix this **** that Sony makes (haha!)
2 - As if I say, it's worked for me; My Wifi is detecting more networks now and don't disconnect them. Range is better to.
3 - If I can, I'll help, but I don't know a **** about developing (again!), and I hope that the real developers will come here do help who needs.
4 - I'm in 12.0.A.2.254 firmware (rooted) (BL Locked - I'll unlock it later to teste custom roms; just waiting a feel days because of factory issues)
Ok, let's go
I did it:
1 - root following this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405933
2 - I downloaded that Rom for Xperia L (I think that is the same wifi devices on both phones) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419042
3 - extract the file 01_____C_n_T_JB_4.1.2_15.0.A.2.17_V1.zip\system\etc\firmware\wlan\prima\WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini and put in somewhere of easy acess
4 - copy to your phone through root explorer
5 - Reboots
AGAIN: I don't know how to developing; I don't know if it will blow my phone or whatever; I just works here.
Thanks to serajr, for his amazing rom for Xperia L (I had one, but a mother****er stole it. It's a great phone. Better camera than Xperia SP)
thanks to DooMLoRD, for allowing us to root this great device
and thanks to you, that you understand my bad english
***If it posted in wrong section, please move it***
***Sorry if I forget someone in credits, just thanks to all of developers involved in XDA***
Greetings
EDIT: Forget do upload the files. Idiot.

Well ok, you convinced me. I will try it out as well later tonight and will post results
At the moment my Galaxy Note II gets 2 bars at 10m distance with 2 walls.
While Xperia SP gets only 1 (or no bars at all) at distance of just 5m and one wall.
Where?
Where exactly should I put this .ini file?

Well, in order to fix this problem, I searched the web a lot. I found many fix for it, but none of them works. I found a topic that says to overwrite this files and a lot of peoples saying that works, but not for me. So I tried this way and works.
I think it don't work for all devices, Like the lastest update solved the problem of wifi for a some peoples and not for other. Maybe something related to the region and the model of phone (5302/5303/5306/mh35)?
