Can someone tell me the guest mode apk name?
Can anyone provide me with the guest mode apk? I deleted a lot of system apps and accidentally deleted the app that enables guest mode
Hello, this thread belongs to Q&A not general, I wonder why people can't just post it in the Q&A section cause things like this or duplicate threads are pushing things unnecesary down.
@j0hnnyn if you deleted alot of stock apps then I suggest to download an stock based rom from the same android version and push it to your system with the right permissions. I can't give you it since I dont own the phone. I hope you can easily solve it yourself.
I suggest to download the full stock yourself incase you accidently remove more apps so you can fix it yourself fast without waiting hours or days before someone helps you.

I manually installed 2.2 on my epic and the camera , media and ringer options do not work. Files are still there but get an error message. Anyone know why? Also is there a way to go back or un install the upgrade without losing my apps and stuff.
thanks in advance.
Please post questions in General section.
Have you manually removed the DRM apk's? If so, this causes audio problems. Hehe, I've typed this so many times, I should save it as an auto text. if this is your case, and you have questions about restoring, search this general forum... Or just ask here.

Im not sure what DRM apks are. I did not remove anything though. I also tried to re update it again and get an error. I also tried to install the DI18 file and it wont install either. So kind of stuck right now. All my media files are there they just wont open or work. Any thoughts?

This is a simple question.
If I do a "factory reset", does that bring back any applications deleted from the "/system"-partition?
Background:
After rooting I decided to remove some applications that I felt "unnecessary", such as the Lenovo AppStore and the games.
So I removed them from the "/system"-partition, but now I fear that was a mistake which possibly could cause future updates to fail as there are no files to patch.
Thank you.

Another member has uploaded a .7z file containing what you are looking for here. See my post at the top of the "General" page (Has the little uSB key next to it).

Tell me which files you did delete, maybe they are in there. If not, I can provide all stuff from a WE Backup. Be careful to set the rights properly btw. Exactly the same way the other apks in system are.

The answer to your first question is also simple ... yes! Bear in mind though that you'll lose any data associated with your apps unless you back them up first (Titanium Backup will help here).
I wouldn't worry too much about uninstalling AppShop. It's deprecated now anyway so removing it will likely make your system run more smoothly.
It's a month down the line and Lenovo have still not released any patch to remove AppShop and its associated processes. So it's unlikely they'll bother now. General impressions are that they've lost interest in Android and moved onto Win8. Another OTA seems unlikely. Even if one is produced, you're not obliged to install it.
Hi guys, I'm kinda new to all this. I've read the mega-thread in the LG L3/5/7 general forum, and can't find any explanation on how to uninstall apps from my L7. I've tried many Google searches and of course searched these forums using many keywords. I'm kinda at a loss here, so I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer.
My aim is to remove all unneeded apps which came pre-installed and can't be uninstalled using the regular UI (since there's no stable version of CM and I'm not interested in exploring different mods, I just want a basic functionality device - FB, messaging apps, etc). All the pre-installed apps are making my device run r-e-a-l-l-y slow and it's driving me crazy.
What I've done so far: rooted and installed CWM, I'm able to enter the recovery mode (or whatever you call it, when you reboot the device and hold down the volume, power and home buttons...)
Now I'm looking for a way to uninstall apps, and I can't find any explanation on how to do it. When I enter recovery mode there's no option to uninstall apps and I can't find any PC software which will enable me to connect to my device and uninstall apps. Like I said, Googling and searching this forum didn't help...

why do you not try an app to delete what apps you don`t like?
try : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.uninstall&hl=ro
Why would you use CWM to uninstall apps ? Use CleanMaster or Andromizer, these apps are free and very useful.
Sent from my LG-P700 using xda app-developers app
Or try ES file Explorer
Wyciapciane z L7
Titanium back up will help to back up and uninstall apps from your rooted phone.
Hi,
My brother has been told by an associate, that he has hacked his phone and can track and hear everything he does and did it remotely.
Also said the App is undetectable.
His phone is a rooted Note 3 and his wife has a non rooted Galaxy S5.
Now, I have told him there is no way for for somebody to remotely install any app on your phone even if it is rooted, unless it is already compromised and or unless they have your Google account and password, which i am not 100% sure that would allow you to install anything either.
So my question is, if he flashes an original rom and creates a new Google account, can he feel safe that his phone can't have malicious apps installed with out his knowledge ?
I would assume a factory reset wouldn't be enough to get rid of an app installed as a system app ?
Is there any programs he could install to check for malicious apps.
I think my brother is just being overly paranoid and this guy is a ****
Help greatly appreciated.
Hopefully this is the right thread / board, if not please move to the correct thread please mods.

I would say, scan with an antivirus like avast and see what can come up, and to your question, if he flashes the stock rom, everything which has been installed as a system app will get removed, also if your phone is rooted , avast has a function which is called firewall, in that you can control the internet connectivity of all the user/system app. I use it to block internet access to systems which in my view do not need any connectivity to run. Its very easy to do also. ask him to change his goole password and also user 2 factor authentication on google.
Sounds like someone's been watching a bit too much Person of Interest...
Do such 'apps' exist? Yes. Are they publicly available? Hell no.
I dont think theres a software like that in public. Thats a lot of money to be earned "IF" ever and theres laws to break.
Just do a factory reset from recovery or a better solution is to upgrade your firmware to the newest build from samfirmware
Factory reset won't delete system apps.
The least you can do is flash stock ROM using Odin to fulfill your brother's OCD.
Thanks guys, will put my mind at rest and hopefully his.

1- Yes. And no need to create a new account, just change the password of the current account.
2- Yes, in some (rare) cases.
3- I'm not sure. You can try some antivirus apps or security apps on the Play Store. But in general, you can check yourself by finding apps that have the following permissions: READ SMS + RECORD AUDIO + FULL INTERNET ACCESS... Try to eliminate well-known safe apps, plus some experiences and some helps from the other, you can identify these malicious apps.
So i installed the samsung s5 lockscreen, or at least attempted to, I never realized you needed to flash in recovery. First I backed my files up. Then with the zip all I did was copy the files down to system in EZ Explorer, when I found out that my settings.apk went missing and the home button didnt work(or the lockscreen) I tried to restore my files, I restart my phone but no change still no settings and home button doesnt interact at all. (Stock S4 with Root)
(Also I cannot install apps anymore) Any help greatly appreciated!
I think you can solve this by Android development bridge (adb). In a few words, this is a way you can modify your internal memory from your ?. So, you have to push all backup.
If you don't know how to use it, in this page there are a lot of helpful post.

Sorry the app creates a backup, or do I need to have a previously installed backup?
Messed up even further!
Guys I tried to factory reset hoping to fix the problem, but as the config window opens up, I'm flooded with errors. My question is should I just install a ROM and hope that fixes it, or just go to my provider and go by the warranty?(Root I used is towelroot, so it should be gone after FR, so the warranty should still be good.)
Found a fix!
I did what it says here, works perfect except for wifi(Other then that its great)
