Hi guys, I'm kinda new to all this. I've read the mega-thread in the LG L3/5/7 general forum, and can't find any explanation on how to uninstall apps from my L7. I've tried many Google searches and of course searched these forums using many keywords. I'm kinda at a loss here, so I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer.
My aim is to remove all unneeded apps which came pre-installed and can't be uninstalled using the regular UI (since there's no stable version of CM and I'm not interested in exploring different mods, I just want a basic functionality device - FB, messaging apps, etc). All the pre-installed apps are making my device run r-e-a-l-l-y slow and it's driving me crazy.
What I've done so far: rooted and installed CWM, I'm able to enter the recovery mode (or whatever you call it, when you reboot the device and hold down the volume, power and home buttons...)
Now I'm looking for a way to uninstall apps, and I can't find any explanation on how to do it. When I enter recovery mode there's no option to uninstall apps and I can't find any PC software which will enable me to connect to my device and uninstall apps. Like I said, Googling and searching this forum didn't help...

why do you not try an app to delete what apps you don`t like?
try : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.uninstall&hl=ro
Why would you use CWM to uninstall apps ? Use CleanMaster or Andromizer, these apps are free and very useful.

I rooted my nook today and no matter what I try, using Opera Mini, I cannot get any google apps to install. I also cant figure out how to add a device to google apps. Since the Market app never works for anyone this seems to be the only way to install anything but there are no forums mentioning how to install it. I would appreciate some assistance. Thanks.
no one here knows the answer to this? i'm shocked no replies yet.
download gapps.zip and flash it.

Just hit thanks if I helped.
Guyman2,
Depending on the rooting method you used, there is way to install gapps, which includes market (google play - they are compatible in use, nothing being left). Check it on the proper post here in the development forum!

To more succinctly state the problem:
How can you get APKs out of Google Play without loading your personal device with a load of junk from Google?
I've got Google Maps on my Nook right now and every time I turn my back it's trying to do something (when not running).
Renate,
Gotta live with that. That's the price of having market (gmail always on the background, etc), but it helps the system runs a little bit better (apps upgrade!).
Guyman,
Look on the thread related to touchnooter, and probably there will be an option to add gapps to your system. Usually the 1st post show you all the options.
Have the same problem - is there a way to install market only?
What I'm going to do is install on my phone, extract it from the phone, then load onto the Nook and delete what's left over! Madness, I know.
A nicer way for me would be to install into a virtual machine and do that. Anyone know if that's possible? Possibly even with Android-x86??
I don't like market in this sense. It's a problem with all Android devices as far as I can see. Market is a bit of a problem in this regard.
I'm not sure about the problem here, but, I can confirm that, I rooted my NST with Touchnooter and market is working fine, I downloaded several apps from market and, I also installed some apps trough Google Play Store from my PC directly to the NST.
For me Market search didn't work after following MinimalTouch so I had to use the SearchMarket app from Appbrain. After this now I can search and install anything but still can't click the notifcations, OperaMini crashes back to the ADW desktop, same for Browser too after clicking a link in Google.
edit:
for Renate re: Maps out of control. Yes, I noticed too that it comes out of the background and wastes battery. 2 ideas: 1) Freeze it when not in use. You can use a Widget from Titanium or AppQuarantine for quicker launch 2) use something 3rd party
I also suggest using a different account for the Nook to any other Android devices you have to keep things separate and clear since the NST is not recognised by Play.
For a bare-bones root with an appstore, tinynoot ought to work.
I cobbled it together for the glowlight but all the parts are from the established NST environment - clockwork, su, busybox, adw, button savior, nook touch and nook color tools.
I include the Amazon appstore, which of course is also an app that likes to be always on, but none of the gapps because the framework for the glowlight stuff hasn't been looked at yet.
The install scripts are based on minimal nooter, which is CWR based file and directory creation.
I didn't include a modded uRamdisk because I find that adb wireless is enough on its own to let me use wifi adb (dont' recall if I've used usb ADB but I suspect it would work, in assocation with nook color tools) - I can shell in via ADB and just need to type su to get superuser.
Downloads and longwinded instructions are up at

You could format and use one of my minimal zips instead of the full ones, they had only the neccesary apps and libs for Gmail (manual sync) and "Market" to work correctly, nothing more, nothing less, no maps, etc.
Now everything is a bit outdated, as I said, I'll work on this again and update the zips etc.
I rooted my nook simple touch, installed NTGAppsAttack-0.5.0.zip, registered successfully, I use 2-step verification, and even installed some apps on the nook. But when I try to search for apps I dont get any output - no info if any app was found or not The whole screen goes white..
I would like to install a few apps (kindle, nicer looking launcher, should I sideload them)

Hi all. New to the forum. I have been searching the web for the last hour or two and haven't found a solution to my problem. I have used the search feature on this forum trying to find a solution but I don't think there's a thread for it. Im trying to install the showbox app. So I clicked the let unverified apps download button. We're good there. Now after I download it I go to file manager and try to install it, but when I click the install button the phone doesn't do anything. Almost as if it's not registering the touch to the install button on the screen. Tons of people have had these issues. Many other forums and videos say to uninstall or close out your screen filter apps or screen apps. I have no such apps. Version 4.95 and older I have all tried, the same thing happens. . Any Insight on how I can get this app installed please let me know. And if there is a thread send me a link. Thanks.

try with a file manager such as root browser maybe?
@BrewCrew94!!, since you mentioned the Install button that means you made it to the Package Installer so we can rule out the ROM's file manager.
You don't say what ROM you're running. For a time there was a package installer bug that plagued some ROMs. That was eventually fixed though.
If it is an overlay problem there could be something missed that's blocking the install button. Even a ROM's built-in appbar could do that.
You could maybe try Install Button Unlocker from the Play Store. If that helps then there is an overlay issue somewhere. If not, then not sure at this point.
ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, Dirty Unicorns UNOFFICIAL v11.7.2 ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
Standard problem, when some kind of overlay app is installed as many of those use the top layer of overlays.
Every button on a deeper layer does not work in this case.
Thanks for the responses! OK so on my axon 7 I haven't a clue about what rom I am running. Nothing custom so I'm assuming I am running the latest version. I recently downloaded MI Favor. I could Check the settings later. I found a solution to the problem by creating a new user on the phone and strictly only downloaded it. It works through the file manager but doesn't work on my main phone user with all my apps. I heard of the overlay issues but I couldn't figure out what the problem app could be.
I mentioned that Install Button Unlocked app, well, I think that publisher has a companion app to identify overlays. There are others like that also. Maybe one of those can help ID what's blocking the installs.

I have updated the new showbox
Hello!
I installed the file and updated the free version of showbox v5.26!
Hello,
I want to debloat my P9 Lite from apps like Youtube etc. I used the approach from a video called "Remove ALL Bloatware from any Android Smartphone without Root" (cannot post link)
Bringing my phone into debug mode and installing adb all went fine. However, when I start Debloater (version 4.0) -- it shows me the correct serial number and battery status, though -- the model gets called "generic_a15" in Debloater. Furthermore, no package is listed when I click "Read Device Packages".
Does somebody know how I can resolve this issue? Thank you very much for your attention!

Hi,
i never used that method, so
just my thought...
Maybe you have to try to reboot your device in fastboot mode,
then try to launch the debloater and see if it shows you packages.

Downloaded and installed, also not working.
Any other method to remove unwanted apps?

Installing a custom ROM usually brings a series of benefits including that
of not having bloatweres so it is my main recommendation.
On the other hand, manually, with superuser permissions and a root app manager,
you can uninstall all the applications you want, but you must pay attention to what you touch,
the system could become unstable (google apps). Do some research before venturing.
Making a Nandroid backup before starting is almost mandatory, always recommended.
Good luck
Installing custom roms is nice But simple huawei backup and restore for stuffs is so much easier than some third party app to do.
I would so easy install some of the many custom roms But eui is so easy and works.....

Excuse me I probably did not grasp the juice of the speech.
I have already answered for what I know, custom roms or manual uninstallations of what you do not want.
Another way would be to freeze / disable unwanted apps ... the device will be grateful ..
Dear use @ to quote.

Hello new here and while I have done some searches I am not quite finding what I am looking for which is maybe because I am not asking the right questions or searching for the right terms so hopefully someone can direct me to the right place!
I have an old Galaxy Grand Prime Sm-G530W running Android 5.1.1. It has 8gb storage and I would like to maybe remove some of the apps that I wont use, are not useful or are just bloatware.
However I am not sure what apps are what and which one I should avoid removing?
The phone will be used primary to make calls, will not be on a data and only use free wifi hotspot and the wife from my home.
I would like to maybe keep some kind of google maps ability, I do not want chrome but rather would use firefox along with ad blockers etc I know work well for me on FF.
I have have done some research but not a phone expert by far so I am not sure I want to root my phone, install custom roms. I read something about remove bloatware via "remove the pre installed apps using ADB commands" however figured I get some tips advice from people that know what they are talking about.
Ideally it would be great if there was some kind of program I can just plug into from my PC or some such that allows me to then simply remove the samsung and google bloat or unwanted programs so I could gain more room for apps I do want.
Right now after factory reset it uses like 3.50GB out of 8gb.
is there any Debloat program I can use on it out there?

Hello member of this small community, well the best way to remove bloatware is by root, the process is relatively simple.
1) Download the twrp recovery (.tar) belonging to the model you have.
2) Install it through Odin
3) Install Magisk Manager
With this done you can use applications such as root uninstaller, another alternative is to look if there is a custom rom for your model, but do not expect much as many roms have been abandoned and only a new project is kept alive, if the current rom does not present problems in performance, I recommend you leave it alone and start removing junk apps, another recommendation is to install SD maid, a great app for cleaning junk content of the phone.
