G2 wont boot to download - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello as the title says my phone wont boot into download mode. I got the phone and downgraded it and was able to root it. The phone was working perfectly all day, I plugged the phone in at night and went to sleep and i woke up and the phone was booted to recovery (Philz Touch 6) and when i try to reboot the phone it shows the LG screen then goes straight to recovery if i power off and hold the volume up button the phone still goes into recovery and trying "adb reboot download" wont work, it just hangs in terminal and never completes command.

Sounds like it did an ota update without your permission as lg does try wiping caches data system not I ternal storage your going to have to flash a custom ROM through adb sideload

[Q] Did I Brick My Nexus 7?

I was following a tutorial on how to root and install a custom ROM. I rooted my device, and was able to get the SuperSU app. I went to install a custom rom, I thought I put it on my SD card, or, well, internal storage.
I guess I didn't, because I booted into recovery, wiped all my data, and went to install the ROM, there was no Zip file of the rom to be found. So now my Tablet is stuck on the screen saying "Google" and it has a little unlocked lock at the bottom.
It wont do anything, won't even turn off. Am I screwed?
Bought this from Walmart a week ago, can I get a new one since I just bought this a week ago? Thanks.
(I'm literally like... sooooo sad, please, anyone, if it's only bad news, please let me know )
EDIT: When I Plug into, or uplug from my PC, it makes the noise when a USB device is connected. Cant tell if it charged or not! Here is a picture of what my Tablet currently looks like: http://i.imm.io/ULZw.png
Your device is bricked and you can turn it off by holding the power button for 30 seconds.
To unbrick your nexus 7 go and read this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781250
i dont think you bricked it i think you wipe the sd card
when you wipe the tablet what did you choose?
to fix it
if you can get into recovery you have to choose the sideload option in send the file to your tab through adb
P.S this happen to me lol
Nah, I don't think you bricked your device. If you can go to fastboot mode(holding power button+volume buttons for a few seconds) then you are not bricked. If you can boot to fastboot, you can reflash stock rom and return back to normal.
Ha, that was my exact problem yesterday. If you're still in recovery mode, you can reboot into bootloader mode and flash the Stock firmware. You can turn your Nexus 7 off by holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then boot in to bootloader by holding all 3 buttons.

Since you tried to have it lose all its battery, have you tried charging it for at least an hour? Maybe its just because you ran out of juice.

Unless you have somehow erased or over written the bootloader it is not bricked.. if it is on hold the power button until it turns off. then press power +vol up + vol down until the bootloader comes up (says bootloader and shows a green android guy). this is called fastboot mode.
from here you will need to download http://androidarea51.com/downloads/adb.zip as well as https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/nakasi-jdq39-factory-c317339e.tgz and extract both to the same folder. Then hook up your N7 to your computer with the usb cable and simply run the flash-all.bat and sit back and wait for the N7 to be reloaded to stock 4.2.2. This WILL erase EVERYTHING on the device. This is the easiest way. Without knowing more of how your device is setup. If you have a custom recovery installed then there may be other options... but this will get you back up and running in no time.
It's nearly impossible to hard brick a Nexus 7, and I wouldn't recommend using any "Toolkits" either, rather I'd actually learn out to use fastboot and adb.
In this case if I wanted to start completely clean and the bootloader was already unlocked, I would simply hold down the buttons to get into bootloader.
fastboot flash recovery name-of-compatible-grouper-twrp-2.5.0.0.img
reboot into recovery
Wipe everything (data, system, cache, etc)
adb push name-of-rom.zip /sdcard
(same for google apps)
then install the rom plus extras, and reboot into the new system.

For the most part, if yours is 3G+Wifi = Tilapia, if it's just Wifi-only = Grouper.
Rom choices are mainly personal choices, plenty to pick from under the development sections. I prefer SlimBean + SlimGapps, there's plenty of others like the ever popular Cyanogenmod or Paranoid Android.
You may need to also flash google apps (most if not all roms do not pre-include them for legal reasons) which will give you the play store and many other google services.
The official ones can be grabed from http://goo.im/gapps
You grab the one corresponding to the android version (ie: CM10.1 = 4.2.2 , slimbean is also 4.2.2 etc). Though some like SlimBean and paranoid android will have their own customized version of google apps (for the DPI hack and other features) so will need to grab those instead if you choose nto to use the official google apps.
You flash the system/rom, then you flash google apps on top of that, [then a kernel if you choose to use something other than the rom provides] then reboot system (if it's an upgrade from a pre-existing rom, clear cache/dalvik-cache before rebooting).
---------- Post added at 05:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:44 AM ----------
PS: As mentioned before, if you don't have a system on there anymore (because it was wiped), you'll mainly want to do some wipes just to be sure, then use adb to push the zip files up to the phone over USB to the /sdcard, that way you can flash without having to boot into a system to begin with.
Thank man ^^

LG G2 Dead and stuck in fastboot with no download mode

I had some problems last night when I wiped my baseband so I reverted to stock using the lg flashtool. I decided to update the software before reinstalling paranoid android. I left the device plugged in and when I installed the official software but when it rebooted , it errored and I was stuck in fastboot mode. I couldn't even get into download mode. I started up adb and decided to flash the recovery through fastboot after some brief reading and now when it reboots , following the lg logo , i get the fastboot stuff again for only a brief second before it shuts down. Also , when I connect the device to the computer , I get a message telling me to format drive (F) which I assume is a problem with the phone. PLEASE GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS. I AM DESPERATE AND FREAKING OUT A LITTLE

a little update - the fastboot text says something about boot certificates when it flashes and apparently it doesn't shut down , the screen stays on but displays black. Also , more than just drive (F) appears. I get nearly 20 drives and only one of them works. (E) has a folder title "image" and lists of files
There is a way. I had to fastboot laf and recovery. For my spicific model ofcourse

LGG2 bricked on fastboot mode.

Hello I tried to flash dorimanx 11.2 kernel onto lgg2 with cloudy g2 2.2. It is the T-mobile LGG2 so D801.
I tried to flash using twrp. it said flash was successful. The screen came up with
[900] Fastboot mode started.
when I plug the phone into my computer it says
--reset--
--postchaerge--
When I go to devices on my computer it has under unspecified "Android" and it says there are no drivers installed for it, though lg g2 drivers are on my computer and I've been using them lately.
My phone does not stay off. It automatically boots to LG logo then to fastboot mode
If I hold down power and volume. It goes to LG screen and stays there for 5-10 seconds then the screen goes blank and the red LED indicator starts flashing. It seems to keep doing this until I release the power and volume down and then it goes to LG to fast boot.
If I reboot the phone by holding power+vol down and when the LG logo appears release both and then press them again it goes to factory data reset screen.
Thanks for any help, KipKipK
Okay, I waited overnight and no replies. Has no one seen this before. Is this phone dead. I will be sitting at my computer for the next few hours if someone would help walk me through something
*** update
tried to get into download mode this morning. power + vol up plugged into PC
IT WORKED! However it only had the download screen up for a few seconds when it changed to firmware update.
Going from the top of the screen down it says.
1 firmware update.
2 then has a connection symbol with rotating circles around it
3 it says DO not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete.
4 Then a progress bar at 0% that isn't moving
5 Lastly it has a panel that says USER B100 and a few lines down ROOTED
Under devices it is now detected as LG AndroidNet Phone
Under device manager it says under ports. LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM14)
you Are OK my friend don't worry ... now you should flash the original firmware for your phone ... read here carfully and you should be just fine

you can also try to go to TWRP again first (before flashing original firmware)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534981
Awesome. I'll follow that guide + what you said to do and inform you how it goes.
*** THANK YOU! phone is revived. Time to start the process over again and figure out where I went wrong.
I have no idea how this happened since i just did this yesterday and it worked perfectly but i'm in a boot loop now.
1. I got stock
2. updated to 5.0.2
3. rooted
4. installed auto rec
5. rebooted
6 flashed twrp .
7 restarted. and now i'm in a boot loop.
The only thing the phone does is repeatedly go to lg logo. No LED light on.
I can get to factory reset screen.
It doesn't seem like I can get to download mode. I am trying by holding power button until phone goes and stays black. Then I press up vol button and plug into usb, but it just goes to LG boot loop again.
***Okay. NOW I ****ED UP. turned the phone off again to try and get it into download mode. Now the screen is black and it won't even go to LG screen.
So, It looks like I probably want to try and do the factory reset, which will get me to twrp, if I can get back to the factory reset screen but now the phone is just stuck off. (no blacklight on)
***Because the phone wouldn't turn on I decided to try to remove the battery. Somewhere in the process of removing the back cover the phone decided to start the boot loop again.
- I used this to get to factory reset, which got me to twrp.
- What do I do now? I found some posts that sound similar to what I want but really don't want to mess anything up so i'm just going to wait for a reply
- long term goal is to get cloudy g2 2.2 and dorimanx.
Since I didn't get a reply I just kind of said eff it and flashed the cloud g2 2.2 rom and the KK baseband. Device is now functioning. Time to decide if it is worth getting the kernel
what is the situation now is your phone go to twrp or not what is the situation here .

if your phone can go to download mode just flash the original firmware . and tell me what kind of original firmware is it KITKAT or JELLYBEAN and don't upgrade to 5 LP

http://www.gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/twrp/?version=2.8.7.3

Try qfil method, between the reboots there is a chance your device gets recognized. Before that: empty your battery completely(otg) and check if bootloop is gone

Even I have the same problem.
I locked The bootloader after installing cm13, and the phone went to bootloop, now I cannot unlock my phone. Somehow I went to fastboot mode and tried all the commands to unlock the phone. And the phone responded "Access denied".
Tried with qfil also and it didn't work. Some or the other error. My phone is dead, someone please help me..
Try this..
Remove battery belt,
To switch off your phone.
Then attach it again,
Keep pressing UP volume button while your phone is off and attach USB.
As your computer detect Qualcomm Port, click on DOWNLOAD button in QFIL & install stock firmware again.
Try at your own risk.
Been there.. Had the same issue..
Exactly the same.. Flashed zui, then mokee and boom.
Unstoppable boot loop. Just zuk logo followed by a small vibration and restart.
I am giving you the solution.
1. Let the battery die. It will take 7,8 hours.
---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 PM ----------
2. Download these-
a. Tool all in one
b. Fastboot drivers
c. Lenovo/zuk drivers
d. Pc
e. Twrp 3.0.2(flashable img format)
f. Rom and gapps (download them afterwards only if rom isnt present, You will know it after the process.)
---------- Post added at 05:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 PM ----------
Steps.
1. Let the phone die.
Press power button when it stops - this will start the whole bootloop process again.
Do this till there is just a 2 min loop mode ie. It loops for just 2 min, then goes off.
*power + any key combination doesnt work. No twrp and no fastboot mode.
*pressing power button for 30 second to switch off the phone doesnt work.
2. Install all softwares.
---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ----------
3. Press vol up and down both and connect usb from pc. It goes to fastboot mode.
*dont remember exactly if it was vol up + vol down OR vol up+ vol down + power. Try both please.
4. See if phone shows up in connected fastboot devices. If not, do this-
a. Remove phone. Check driver status of pc.
b. Retry if all seems right.
5. It connects in fastboot mode.
6. Now let me tell you the basic problem - you have a relocked bootloader courtesy zui.
So, you will have to unlock it again.
*full data gets wiped due to this process. Your internal memory is formatted.
7. Check bootloader status. If its locked, unlock it. Then, flash twrp again.
*flashing twrp isn't compulsory, but we are doing it as an added safety check.
8. If it isn't locked, you are lucky, just flash twrp again.
9. Reboot to recovery from tool all in one.
10. If successful, reboot to system from twrp. If your previous rom is present and it boots up, its great.
Otherwise, you would have a zuk logo that doesn't restart, it stays there continously. Press power button for 30 second to switch off the phone. Download rom and gapps and flash them via external usb through twrp.
---------- Post added at 05:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
11. If this fails, there is a method called qfil (as stated by @strongst).
There is also a youtube video for qfil method. Channel is dtech terminal, watch it to see how its done. It also has the links to all files for qfil.
*I am in no way related to dtech terminal. Sorry moderators if i am violating any policy by giving link kf ylutube channel.
I'm in the same situation and found solution as below link

I need help to fix my hard bricked Lenovo YT3-X50F

Hi everybody, I'm Tom and recently I wanted to flash a stock rom on my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 YT3-X50F but I accidently flashed a YT3-850F instead of YT3-X50F and it completely messed up my tablet the screen is black but when I hold Power + Vol up it vibrates and restarts like it would normally, also the PC detects the tablet when i plug it in. But yeah as I said the screen is completely black and I don't know what to do I don't even know if I can boot into recovery mode when it's like this.... I really hope you guys can help me because I got this tab for my birthday and I don't want my parents to think I can't take care of my stuff.
Install fastboot drivers on your pc.
Start tablet in fastboot mode. Probably power on while holding volume up.
Download stock rom for your device.
On pc open cmd in folder where you have stock rom files issue these commands
Fastboot flash cache (cache.img)
Fastboot erase splash
Fastboot flash splash (splash.img)
Fastboot flash system (system.img)
Fastboot flash recovery (recovery.img)
Fastboot flash userdata (userdata.img)
Fastboot flash boot (boot.img)

This of course will only work if your tablet is still functioning in fastboot mode. The fact it is recognized by the pc is a good start.
