After my LG G2 came back from repair, due to faulty sound, I noticed that my screen did not fill out the whole area. Like if you set a screen resolution to 640x480 on a 1920x1080 screen on a PC.
Also in the store, they said they updated my phone, but after I did a factory reset, there is no updates?
I got a LG G2
Android 4.2.2
S/W-version D80210a-xx
I have rooted it, in hope to get more functions, but with no luck. I can´t find anything close to my problem anywere. Anybody know what and how I can change the resolution on the screen? I tried an app, but that did not work at all and the dpi was f..... up. Had to reset one more time...
I know it used to fiil the whole screen before.

Hey guys have used search high and low, and cant seem to find the answer to my current problem, i just recently bought a jasjam, and i love pretty much everything about it, but when the ROM was changed the owner said that the touch screen stopped working. Apparently it was fine before the change, but that it didnt work after. So i figured that it was a software issue, loaded the latest SPL, and relaoded another ROM on the pda. Now the toush screen still doesnt work, but i have noticed that you can tap the screen when asked to get to calibration screen, and tapping the screen will also turn the back light on, but i am unable to calibrate the phone touch screen after the initial tap.
i have since loaded remote screen calibrator, and skip calibrate, and the phone seen to run well, except for the touch screen, on that note i have noticed also that the touch screen will accept one tap when loaded to the today screen, then stop working, i have hard reset, soft rest, changed to latest SPL, and the latest ROM from the forum.
Could it still just be a dodgy touch screen, or does it sound like a software prob to you guys, thanx heaps for the time

Hey guys have had a look round the web, and i get the feeling that perhaps the touch screen driver is screwed and was wondering if there is a way of checking, by replacing just the touch screen driver? i have placed a number of different ROMs on the phone and none of them make any difference to the non working of the touch part.
if someone could let me know if i am wrong in my thinking please let me know
thanx heaps
peace Trix
Anyone?
thanx in advance

I had a Korean LG G2 for a week a while back. However, on the 7th day the screen exhibit some strange problems. Which I returned it to the seller.
I've tried to google this problem but I (1) cannot find the right search terms and (2) do not see anyone with this problem. I was on a custom rom and flashed it back to stock rom but the problem persists. It feels like a mix of overheat and faulty screen.
As you can tell the clock widget is "stuck" on several screens (even recovery). If I put the phone in the fridge or leave it untouched overnight it reverts back to normal and usable for 15 mins then the problems comes up again.
I want to ask what is this problem and is it prevalent in korean LG G2?
I really like LG G2 but fear of buying another one that has this same problem.
Anyone has any ideas?
Yesterday I've noticed similar problem, I use swiftkey with a red theme and white letters (I don't think it's app's fault) and after displaying it for some time and then switching to other screen it looks like the keyboard is "burned" on the screen. It's not visible on color background but on medium light gray it's easy to seen. After some time without using keyboard it disappears.

It seems that this is similar to the black line issue some people had. If you have warranty send it back. I think only way to fix is to change the panel and/or digitizer
Before you send it back, have you downloaded any new ROMs? Flashed CWM/TWRP? Because when I did the following I had a problem similar to that. It appeared that whatever my phone was running did not support my type of screen, therefore I downloaded a specific type of Kernel that fixed it right up. If you think this applies to you I will try to dig up what Kernel it was.
Hi guys
Something else that may be relevant is....
That it will always boot the LG logo so what ever is going wrong kicks in just after the LG logo
Even when the screen is completely dead i can get the lg logo up by holding the power button.
..
I've the same issue...
Hello Inked
I've exactly the same freezing on my D802 for more than one month now... And I have no idea what's happening too...
I brought it to a phone shop, he told me it's certainly a motherboard issue, he can repair it for 250€!... Way too expensive for me!
So, I decided to find a motherboard by myself and I don't find... I'm trying at this point to find the same phone with a broken screen to mix components.
It's a D802 32GB and it's quite rare in Europe unfortunatly.
So if someone has an idea how to fix this I'm at your disposal! And I can imagine it's the same for Inked.
I will try to post a video of the freezing problem tomorrow.
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56259958&postcount=18. Read the guide to fix your phone
Are you sure it's the same issue?
Here is a video I've made of what's happening, the phone is not rooted (never been), flashed with rom stock EUROPE OPEN 20D, and hard reset:

I think touch screen is working because (it's not clear in the video) you can use the phone "normally" but the image stay frozen.
What do you guys think?

Thanks for all the replies Winking smile
I've tried using your link but when i try and click the “1. click here to view picture” link i just get a 404 error.
Having said that, its not that the screen has dead spots, the screen freezes and just looks like a screen shot until you turn the screen off for a few second and then turn it back on.

Thanks for that...
But as atchoop says the screen is freezing as if you have taken a screenshot and doesn't start working again unless you turn the screen off for a few seconds.
A bit of an update......
I got the same effect as yours during few weeks then it comes back as my video shows because (I think...) I didn't use the phone for a while.
But I still don't know if it's mainboard or screen...

Have you had any luck atchoop?
I tried a new screen today but I have the same problem with just getting the LG logo and then a blank screen
Still no ideas ??
Hey all. My G2 was hard bricked to a point where it didn't even turn on, but with aftabalam8c2's help I could get it to a state where I could flash the phone. I flashed it with a 10b tot image, but after flashing I instantly noticed that the screen has many problems: sometimes it doesn't respond and there are random ghost touches all the time, even when I don't touch the screen. I double checked all connections, made a factory reset, flashed a 20h kdz image and updated touch screen software, but nothing helped.
A week before the brick, I had changed the screen, but everything was working perfectly until the bricking.
I am quite desperate, because the phone is completely unusable right now and I don't know what else to do.
You can see a video of the screen problems here.
Update: I noticed that when I put pressure on a specific point on the left bottom corner of the screen, the screen works normally. Might this hint that the screen is faulty?
Bump. Any help or tips are welcome.
I had ghost touches right after I bought my G2. I tried everything, change rom, kernel, firmware, flash via kdz, everything. I bricked my phone trying to fix my problem and I send it to LG (warranty) . They replace my motherboard and send phone to me. After I turn on g2 problem was back after 20 mins, so I send it again and then they replace my all screen too.
Since then (3 months ago) everything is perfect so I guess you should fix your screen/digitizer.
Thank you for the tip. I was already thinking it might be the screen, although it worked perfectly before I bricked the phone. Sadly I don't have a replacement screen at hand, but I sent a message to the screen seller, asking for a replacement. Now I just have to wait and see.
Interesting is that my phone was off for a few days and now, after turning it back on, the ghosting is almost gone, but some spots on the screen are unresponsive or oversensitive.
Edit: I made a touch test and found out that there are two large dead zones on the screen. I guess the problem really is in the screen then.
Funny thing is this that I haven't had any dead zone just ghost touches

Hi everybody.
Yesterday, I replaced the screen of a LG G2 which was broken.
Everything in the procces went okay, but when I turned on the device, the screen had white lines across the screen. The main fact and more strange thing is that it only shows white lines when the device is on the Launcher or some system apps, when it goes to Settings, Twitter...or any app, the screen works perfectly.
I've tried upgrading to Lollipop, coming back to Jelly Bean, upgrade to KitKat...and the problem doesn't go away. Don't forget to say one important thing: I'VE TRIED THE KERNEL FOR JDI DISPLAYS, and that doesn't fix nothing at all.
I don't think the screen is broken because as I have said, it works perfectly in the apps.
Best regards, waiting for answers! :good:
