Google Earth - Hows yours?

Noticed that Google Earth had recently come available on the marketplace for the Desire.
I have it installed but am unable to use it properly as my desire seems to randomly reboot whilst using it.
1st time I fired it up I zoomed in one level to find only a black screen and then it rebooted.
2nd time I tried I managed to zoom in to my location and then it just rebooted with no black screen this time.
I updated to the OTA update that HTC pushed out the same day so was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or whether my update has gone sour and should hard-reset.
Also (very weirdly), while I was downloading Google Earth my phone was on charge and downloading over GPRS and the device become very hot. The device actually rebooted whilst doing this as well and got stuck on the HTC boot screen after vibrating at me 4 or 5 times. This happened twice so I unplugged the power and seemed fime after that.
So what am I looking at here? Google Earth problem? OTA update has partially broken my phone? Faulty charger/faulty device?
Phone was running absolutely fine up until that OTA update and Google Earth install......
UPDATE: Ok it seems my phone is rebooting whilst on charge as well no matter what im running, seems to get extremely hot. Looks like my issues could be a dodgy OTA update. Anyone experienced the Google Earth issues i've stated though?
i cant find the Google earth on my market place.. I'm in vietnam now..how can i install this app?

no problems here, i've the official ota update no costum rom installed.
Thanks......
Working fine here. I had it installed before the OTA update and everything is working nice and smooth.
Google Earth appeared in my market only 2 days after the update. I downloaded and it seems to be working fine, no issues. I have an unlocked unrooted Desire
Just installed earth on my updated unbranded unmoded desire and it works fine, I believe others have the same charging issue as you though.

Couldn't install the SDK6 version on my HTC Desire. It started installing but broke at the end, and left 92 images of icons in my photo gallery.
I'm having problems as well. The official link to mobile installation doesn't work, and I cannot find it on market either. Very annoying!
The .apk linked above does not seem to install either. Any other ideas, anyone?
installed it on stock rom no problem, used ut for a couple of days and deleted it, taking up to much space !
UPDATE:
I uninstalled Google maps updates because I thought it might be a very similar program and therefore interfering with Earth installation - and it worked!

Latest Maps update

Hey there fellow XDA'ers just wanted to bring a problem to you attention which I fixed in just in case anyone is having problems and going nuts. The newest Maps update can cause your Xperia play Launcher Games to randomly pause just while your playing the game In fact One time it did it to me 30 times in 5 minutes. Needless to say VERY annoying anyways if your having this problem just uninstall the update and use titanium backup to detach maps from the market so it wont )try to make you update it and all your games will play fine!!! cheerio and buhbye

Dead trigger crashes?

I'm new to the Android world. I installed dead trigger and it worked fine for the last few days. Now however whenever I start I get the message that the application has stopped working. What do I do?
This happened to me too when I installed the new update yesterday.
I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again.
You'll have to start all over again, unfortunately.
I had to uninstall. Then restore a Titanium Backup version of DT the was before I applied the patch. Then it went through the downloading of files again. Then I applied the patch, and I was able to save my progress. Nice feature in the update, ability to push progress to the cloud.
Yup, new version crashes on all jellybean devices. If you want to play you'll need to find the old apk. Or wait for an update.

It does state this very clearly on the game's description on Play Store.
Like I said I got it to work. Running it on both my Gnex and N7 on JB. But it was a pain having to go through the restore, download, update procedure.

+1. It is possible to take the update and not have force closes. I restored mine with ti backup then took the update and it runs fine.
Game crashes in the middle of gameplay
I bought a brand new LG Optimus G E970 about 2 months ago, everything worked perfectly, all games work flawlessly till date except for dead trigger. If i play the arena mode too long or if i prolong and kill too many zombies in the package collecting missions the game automatically closes with not error or anything....as if someone pressed the home key in the middle of the gameplay. If i open up the game again from the task manager it restarts. HELP !!!

If it makes you feel any better, this is a cross platform, cross ROM issue. I am having the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and I have seen the same problem reported on S3s, S4s, Droid Bionics, etc.
I keep looking to see if Google is providing an update, but no apparent response despite the growing chorus of complaints and reports.
I had this issue when I flashed the latest Paranoid Android alpha update and their new gapps.
I flashed previous gapps and updated everything and I'm good now.

I had this problem out of nowhere yesterday morning. I removed extensions, etc. Nothing had changed since it had worked the day before, other than their new "listen" rollout, or that pandora competitor.
It would immediately crash with an "aw, snap" every time, within a millisecond.
So I went here: support.google.com/googleplay/?rd=1#contact=1
and filled that out. Got the auto response email with some pat, boilerplate problem solving stuff.
But I didn't do ONE THING, and it fixed itself.
I have a hunch that they get receipt of that, and check your account and fix it behind the scenes. That's the only thing I can think of, because I didn't do a thing, and it stopped working.... and started working again after I didn't do a thing (other than try to remove extensions).....
that support troubleshooter may have done the trick. I am back up and running.
I had the same problem when upgrading to Play Music 5.0.something; what I did to overcome the FC's:
1. Clean cache Download Manager
2. Clean cache Play Music
3. Clean cache Media Storage
4. Reboot
I had the same problem and uninstalled updates to roll back to the prior version. Then on Friday, I saw the update pending and decided to try again. Somehow, it did indeed fix itself. However, what I notice now is that it likes to un in the background on its own from time to time -- enough that it seems to be interfering with battery life . . . .
Works fine for me, never had an issue. I don't use it though as I don't listen to music on my phone

Installs suddenly hanging or stopping. Help?

Has anybody else experienced problems with updating/installing apps recently? I first noticed when I couldn't install anything from Underground. Then I found that the Play Store wouldn't install or update, either. I have:
1. Cleared cache/data/updates from play store and play services, which works for about two minutes each time I clear data from play services.
2. Completed hard (factory) reset, after which it updated apps and then promptly started doing the same thing.
3. Used the trick where I remove play store from the recent apps list, which works sometimes.
If I can find apks, they will will install and function, though sometimes the install comes with an error message. No app will download and then install. If I install from the play store website, the website thinks it is installed, but it doesn't get to the phone.
Oddest part? Galaxy apps works perfectly.
If it matters, it's an Exynos S7 Edge.
#1 above makes me think that the issue is from a recent play services update, and perhaps my problem will clear after the next play services update. My phone is perfectly usable, except for that updating thing.
Yep, same problem. Except I have the Snapdragon variant on Verizon. I've gone through all the usual wiping of caches, factory reset, etc. Same conclusion: I believe it to be a play store issue. Except I know my play store has updated versions at least 2 times since the problem started with no improvement though. Sometimes I have to reboot before the apps will finish installing.
Funny thing is, I was able to install XDA Labs with no problem sideloaded, while Play store was still hanging with a normal update. So I definitely don't believe it to be a Samsung issue anyway.
Hope someone finds a solution, it is annoying...
