Hi, after installed 4.4.2 DBT i'm unable to fix using glonass, the fixing is done only with Gps.
I'm using GPS Status to verify the issue.

I second that
No Glonass on Omega v23 kitkat also. My i9505 sees glonass satelittes, but does not lock to them.
Any solutions?
Nothing is a know bug. CM11 seems to be safe.

no solution (yet)
It would be interesting to see experience of other i9505/kitkat users (if possible GPS status screenshots also).
I would like to switch to some custom kitkat ROM which has no such problems with glonass lock, if such exists.
Mine is a i9500 and GLONASS locks just fine! Lol, what could a dev has done so good that GLONASS doesn't get a fix I wonder
Ground floor, inside my room.

Thank you for your answer, now I am even more confused. I have made clean installation, and as I can see other have that problem too on omega, which is only slightly modified ROM.
Which ROM are you using?
Thank you once again )
I am also having the GLONASS issue after updating to I9505XXUFNB8. Using tools like GPS status I know that the device can see the GLONASS satellites, but they are all greyed out and not being locked. I am getting a fix on US GPS satellites only. GPS and GLONASS worked fine in 4.3.
GPS is usually fine, but under some conditions, when GLONASS would be helpful (and it doesn't lock :/, it is greyed out), accuracy is very degraded.

I've only had my M700 a couple of days. I've sim and cid unlocked it and flashed the rom to wm6 with radio 1.41 and installed my normal selection of programs including GPSMonitor. This enables you to tweak the settings of the internal gps reciever and I've altered my setting to the ones in this link http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=47817
These are the same settings I've been using in my A701 with its sirfIII receiver. Once installed I started the app on both pda's at the same time ( pda's side by side on the arm of my sofa ). The Mio got a lock first but the trinity was only 6 seconds behind. The trinity was locked onto one more sat than the Mio and it was the first time I'd tried using the gps on the trinity so it was definetly a cold start.
First impressions are very good. I'll use my TT6.03 for a couple of weeks and see how reliable it is compared to the mio, hopefully i won't experience any freezing. I remember my old xda2i (alpine) had a freezing issue with tomtom and the cure for that was to use a high speed sd card (used Transcend x80).
Hi,
I've read your post and it's very interesting.
I haven't found the GPSMonitor, could you tell me where to find it?
Thank you very much.
Sorry for the delay in reply but I've been away for a bit. Below is a link to a download page.

Are you talking about this app? http://www.miousers.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=148&highlight=
Seems that there's not much you can actually tweak - I guess you won't be attempting to change the GPS protocol from NEMA to SiRF on a Trinity, right?

I have tried this link and have been going round in circles without being able to find the cab to download.
I auto log in at mio users and the download is probably for registered users only.
Heres the cab itself. The only things I've changed are the settings for GGA, VTG etc,
I've got problems with the GPS on my Polaris and I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue: the accuracy is abt 5-15m off and it updates less than 1frame/sec regardless of the gps software I use (tomtom, google maps or garmin xt) My Radio version is 1.64.08.21 Murata and the rom pdaviet v16
Can anyone point me towards a solution for this please? Thanks!
To my knowledge gps is off target for a reason. All comercial versions are innacurate either in time or position so you cannot use it for war or something like it. If the 5 to 15 meter difference is to much I do not know.

Thanks for your answer pereirald, I knew that commercial GPSs are off so they can't be used for military purposes but the GPS on my Polaris is annoyingly slow. If I compare Garmin mobile XT runnin on my polaris with a friend's Garmin nuvi 760, his is smoother, updates faster and slightly more accurate...so any1 knows whats going on here? Is it only me with this issue or it happens on all HTC phones with Qualcomm chips?
I am on the latest udK rom using radio 1.64.08.21
I can GPS sync inside buildings
Syncs VERY fast
I also find it very accurate and def not 15meters off
Actually I also use Garmin XT and most of the time I can even pinpoint me using "Where am I?" but sometimes it does not give the right door but the neighbours. So I guess there is an up to 5 meter innacuracy. Being slower one should expect: The the chip isnot dedicated is it? It does other stuff while we are trying to use GPS. So you could try to things:
1) Minimal services running and disconnect phone (Airplane mode)
2) I don't know but that is a possibility that you will get different results with different rom. (I think I do, altough I haven't measured it).
Hope it helps

The accuracy depends on the number of satelites as well.
I noticed that the GPS chip of the TC is more nervous then a SirfIII chip like the one I had in my MIO A201.
But both the MIO A201 and the TC didn't show a better accuracy then around 10M.
Thanks for your replies guys, I did some testing over the last 2 days and after taking a trip in the middle of the country with the GPS on, I was surprised to see that it fixed itself At home is not showing me 5 doors down the road and in someone's garden anymore and when I walk/run with it, it pinpoints my location within 5m. The smoothness is still not there even if I turn off the music player and any other progs that I had running in the background, but I know thats because of the lack of proper graphic drivers
So in conclusion the accuracy is down to these 3 things:
1.radio flash not os-rom update.
2.number of satellites it connects to.
3.apparently driving around a bit
Cheers!
In case you use google earth, its the program which doesnt update quickly enough. The receiver does...
The receiver has a very irritating 'feature' built in which is very annoying when trying to use your GPS unit while walking: to make car navigation less jerky and stop you from jumping from road to road, the receiver doesnt update the position anymore after you came to a stop (or move slowly, eg: by foot ). It updates again after you covered several meters of ground and keep moving. This might be useful in your car where you can move fast and steadily, it's very very annoying if you try to find something by foot. The 'feature' is hardware-based, by now no one managed to turn it off.
Edit: uuhm... yes, of course the Radio. The Operating System part of the ROM only houses programs and such, the hardware-near stuff like phone functions, bluetooth and wifi and most important the GPS stuff gets updates through the Radio-ROM. I figured this is a widely known fact...
Does anyone here found a solution/fix to GPS lag in HTC Touch HD?
If you did, would you mind sharing on how you did it?
If you use GPS Mod Setup, what settings do you use? I tried but didnt notice any difference. I'm using Garmin Mobile XT.

Hi Mastoid,
Quick GPS does not assists with lag. It only assists with getting the GPS signal quicker to your phone. GPS lag has been around since the beginning and I'm not sure when it will ever be fixed on these phones. Hopefully the Leo can shed some light as I think it is primarily a hardware issue. However I am praying and hoping that it can be fixed via software drivers....

Yeah... i was a little unsure as to whether this would have made a difference as its a lag associated problem. Thanks for that information band 27 - what you mentioned clarifies my thoughts - I now remember the release notes for HTC's most current ROM update via their website, it stated somewhere that there was a fix for the GPS lag issue... I guess is still exists then which is unfortunate
Best Regards.
I have a lag also.
Additional there are often some deviations in data.
I had Eten X500+ (SirfStarIII build in) and there was no such behaviour.
Looks like Qualcom GPS is simply worse
anybody here have tried updating their rom with official HTC Touch HD ROM Upgrade (EU)?
It does mention "The GPS position updating speed has been enhanced".
I would like to know the result.
I previously owned a Mitac Mio A700. It has built in SirfStarIII as well.
Yes. I noticed it performs much better than my current HTC Touch HD.

Hi,
I'a going to buy an Acer Iconia a501 tab.
But I want to know is there some offline navigation software for this screen resolution? If yes, could You post names of supported softwares ?
Thanks a lot
Google Maps will now cache maps (a 10km radius of any points you specify) so you don't need an active 3G connection. Look in the Labs settings on Maps.
But if that still doesn't suit you could try TomTom or something? I'm sure that will be on the market or similar. Maybe something from Garmin?
For sure there are Copilot and Navigon on the market.

Sygic Aura, you can download the maps.
I have a A500 and sygic worked for about 3 days than all of the sudden it simpli exits at the connecting screen. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is it because of the last update?
L.E Solved it, it crashes if I have wifi on, without wifi, works like a charm... I reccomend sygic, it's blazing fast on a500
Hi, I'm experiencing some issues with my Zuk. I can't lock GPS satellites even if I'm right out of a window, on the other hand my Moto G always has GPS signal, even inside my house. Is anyone experiencing issues with GPS?

GPS is working very good here, even indoors
If have trouble getting a fix while navigating in the car as well.. never had that with an Iphone.
There's already a thread about gps problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/help/gps-fix-problems-t3231931
Btw, my gps won't work too, but i'm expecting android 6 to resolve the issue, that's why i even haven't root yet.
I had the same problem on C13 , you just need to flash a zip file for your gps .
Go on this link and download your zip file and flash it n reocvery :
