Seriously need help.
Didn't do anything unusual that I normally don't do, I flashed a different kernel because PAEK was eating too much battery and now all of a sudden my g2 will only boot into fastboot. Can't boot into recovery or anything, won't recognize adb commands, nothing. It sits at
[640]Fastboot mode started
[690]udc_start()
and won't move. I gotta have this phone up and running soon. Please help
Thanks

Ok first let me start by saying im sorry if this is in the wrong thread or a repeat. Ok so heres the issue, I had my phone rooted and had a custom rom on it. I downloaded a animation and boot screen and installed them. I had to reboot my phone, when done so it was stuck on the new boot screen for a long time. I tried turning off and on several times each with the same results. So i went into my recovery screen and wiped the the system and and did a factory reset. Im on twrp recovery. I rebooted my phone and it tells me no OS. I have no back up now and dont know what to do. Ive tried using the toolkit to go back to stock but it wont let me saying it cant extract the files. Does anyone have any ideas what to do please? I can get into fastboot mode, download mode and recovery but thats it! Please please please help lol!!!

this is exactly why people need to learn adb commands and push commands. you are not bricked. you wiped your system you should have just did a factory reset. as far as the tool kit not extracting I don't know what that's about. stop relying on tool kits. they make things easy yes. but it takes the learning curve away

If you can get into fastboot you are NOT bricked.
Read up on how to manually flash files in fastboot.
I got it, thanks guys!
Hey all, I figured it was time to make a post and see if anyone could help figure out what I'm missing.
So I recently got my G2 and rooted it, then I installed Team Win Recovery Mod (on accident, actually. Was intending to install Clockwork, but figured it wouldn't hurt anything and it was working fine). Anyway, moved on to install Cyanogen Mod and gapps following the usual factory reset -> flash from /sdcard/ approach. Unfortunately on reboot, it went into fastboot mode.
Since then I've read a ton of stuff about fastboot, and I've reflashed recovery, boot, and system a dozen times, but I'm still stuck in fastboot mode. I've grabbed the CWM for LG G2 (AT&T) from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and the latest stable Cyanogen Mod from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/D802_Info. Sadly everything I've seen just tells me to do what I did - reflash recovery and tell it to reboot. I've also tried the "volume down + power until logo, then release and re-hit" method of getting into recovery mode, but the logo is present for literally less than a second, so I just end up back in fastboot.
Perhaps I need to find an flash a stock OS first? The thread on returning to stock firmware scares me :/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 Edit: I gave in and tried playing with this anyway. No good, I can't get the phone to enter "download mode", no matter what I do, it reboots into fastboot.
Any ideas?
Edit: The flash method I used for TWRM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670
Edit2: This seems possibly relevant. When I do "fastboot devices", I get "? fastboot". So something is wonky in terms of its detection. But all the commands seem to be getting executed fine...
Edit3: Finally a potentially useful piece of info: If I flash the boot image extracted from the Cyanogen mod zip, then run "fastboot continue" I get "ERROR: Getting device tree address failed". Which is the same message I get when trying to remotely run a boot image without flashing it. Possibly related to the "?" in the "fastboot devices" listing above? I switched to Koush's Universal Adb Drivers, but no change.
Pretty please?
I find it hard to believe I could manage to brick a 2 week old phone just by following the guides posted here
Well, I still have no clue what went wrong, but I was finally able to make use of the reset to stock thread. It was strange and scary and at no point did I really have any idea I was hitting the right buttons, and at the end it said it failed... BUT it rebooted me into a fresh install, apparently even unrooted! My problems along the way appear to have entirely been related to actually getting the phone *into* download mode since I couldn't get it to actually turn off. Once it ran itself out of battery and turned off, I was able to enter download mode while reconnecting it to power.
No to decide if I want to try installing a custom ROM again, or take this as a sign...
Who am I kidding. *re-roots phone and pulls up the mod threads*
Hey all,
I have just run into an issue, I was installing CWM and all seemed well, but then when I had tried to boot into recovery by holding down the buttons.
However, when it would say recovery booting it would flash turn off and reboot.
I figured it was just an issue with how I was trying to get into the recovery so I used ADB to Reboot into recovery, and that went fine but now I am in a boot loop of the phone trying to get into recovery but when it isnt seeing CWM for some reason it just reboots and continues the cycle.
I would appreciate if anyone has any insight as to how I can fix this or lets hope its not this but if Im screwed at this point.
Thanks in advance,
nEmo
Gahh... This is really getting to me, I've tried everything I can think of.
No one out there has any ideas?
I know Im not being very patient but its the only phone I have access to right now
It almost seems like there is either no OS on it (I hadn't wiped anything at this point) so this is the least likely,
or there was something wrong with the version of CWM that I was trying to use.
I think why I can't connect anything or do anything like that is because it keeps trying to look for the recovery
but because CWM isn't properly there it just keeps looking for it and just keeps on going in that loop.
would love to hear from anyone.
Thanks again.

there is also temporary state for recovery and that might be the cause of this
so try to reflash recovery through adb
:good:

Thanks for the reply, I would love to do that but the part that it actually gets stuck at is before any of the OS is loaded,
What happens is when there is power to it (ie battery or when plugged into a wall socket) it will try to boot as if I had held
down the vol +, Power and home and get the "recovery booting" text, from here the screen turns off and vibrates, a second or two later it reboots and repeats.
I might try to get a video of it tomorrow.
Thanks again,

Hello, so as the title mentioned, I am in something of a similar predicament. Odin Mode is stuck, and it won't recognize any recovery on the phone. How do you boot into fastboot? Could you describe what you did? Thank you in advance.
Odin mode and recovery mode are two different things. You can't get into download mode where you see the android with the shovel?
Just got it and think its great. I tried to root but never got it rooted. I finally got all the drivers etc. installed and got adb working. I can fastboot but somewhere in my 'learning and trying' I have deleted or lost the stock recovery. Every time I push power + volume down I get fastboot mode. Have tried to get into recovery via fastboot and it cant either. After looking around on the web it seems I have 'hosed' or lost my stock recovery. When I try to restore the phone back to factory fresh, it goes to fastboot also. Can anyone help me get my stock recovery back please ?? Thanks!
Fixed minutes after my post.
I found the same problem farther down in the post and got twrp recovery loaded. Thats good enough for me! thanks for the inspiration! This phone is great in my opinion. I wish I know more about android programming. I would love to help out.
Hi!
The exact reference of my phone is this.
Please guys i need some help with this one. I was trying to get a custom ROM for my phone, so I started following this guide link. I got to flash TWRP via SP Flash Tool and then I rooted. Then, I got the MIUI ROM, and flashed via TWRP, wiped dalvik and everything as usual. Then it got stuck on boot, but it reboots too fast I mean, almost like the power button was being pressed all the time. So, I can't enter to TWRP, if I try to enter fastboot it reboots and I don't have enough time to detect it on my computer.
What could I do? Please I appreciate your help, I don't know what else to do, I have heard about some J-tag connection or something like that?
Thanks in advance.
Were you ever able to figure it out and root the ZTE blade a510 properly?
