Ok first let me start by saying im sorry if this is in the wrong thread or a repeat. Ok so heres the issue, I had my phone rooted and had a custom rom on it. I downloaded a animation and boot screen and installed them. I had to reboot my phone, when done so it was stuck on the new boot screen for a long time. I tried turning off and on several times each with the same results. So i went into my recovery screen and wiped the the system and and did a factory reset. Im on twrp recovery. I rebooted my phone and it tells me no OS. I have no back up now and dont know what to do. Ive tried using the toolkit to go back to stock but it wont let me saying it cant extract the files. Does anyone have any ideas what to do please? I can get into fastboot mode, download mode and recovery but thats it! Please please please help lol!!!

this is exactly why people need to learn adb commands and push commands. you are not bricked. you wiped your system you should have just did a factory reset. as far as the tool kit not extracting I don't know what that's about. stop relying on tool kits. they make things easy yes. but it takes the learning curve away
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
If you can get into fastboot you are NOT bricked.
Read up on how to manually flash files in fastboot.
I got it, thanks guys!

any ideas how to get out of it? did i brick my phone? D: (my first android phone) HELP PLEASE!
Have you tried pulling the battery, and start over?
yeah i did.
i also tried doing a wipe/factory reset ...which didnt work.
everytime i try to reboot the phone it takes me to the bootloading screeen. ;/
What were you trying to do? Unlock the bootloader?
uhm i was trying to root my phone, and was in the process of unlocking the bootloader.. so i did unlock it but now when i try to restart my phone or do anything it just takes me back to the bootloader screen. D:
I saw this happened to someone else on the development section.
He solved this by flashing a wiped nandroid backup...
can't seem to find the thread but look for it, it should be there.
My Nexus S is (was) doing the same thing this morning as well.
I had not done anything to it, hadn't even unlocked the boot loader. I plugged it in to charge overnight and when I woke up it was bootlooping on the animation. Battery pull - nothing. Pulled SIM - nothing.
The only way I was able to fix it was to go into recovery and go ahead and unlock the bootloader which forced a wipe. (How does one hard reset this thing anyhow?)
I'm a little concerned that this might happen again....
hrm, i tried locking and then relocking and doing a wipe but that doesnt work ;/ still takes me through the bootlooop. any other suggestions? D: thanks for tryinggg.

So I rooted my g2 then I used clockwork mod app to install recovery. Well I booted to recovery and it's just sets at a black screen. When plugged into a computer it pops up to format like 30 drives. I have tried the recovery batch file for cwm and it results in the same thing. Tried flashify and flashing twrp and still have the same thing. Please I have no idea what else to do.

I ended up flashing back to stock and then rooted with ioroot15 and then followed these instructions http://www.android.gs/install-twrp-recovery-lg-g2/ It worked.
But me being an idiot didn't take my titanium backup off the phone before the flash so I lost all my settings. #draganddrop #oopsies

Hello,
I am on VS98012B as well. I rooted with 'ioroot24' .. That all went fine. Now when I am trying to install a custom recovery (got botched the first couple times) ... now I can not get the phone to pop up the RSA fingerprint and when I try to boot into recovery using ADB commands or quickboot the phone just goes to a black screen and if it is plugged into the computer (windows 7) it pops up a bunch of different drives at me like endleesss was having. I could use and would appreciate some pointers!
Thanks!

I am getting this exact same problem, I used ioroot25, which also went fine. When I go to reboot into recovery I just get a black screen. When I boot into recovery with it plugged into my computer I also get Windows telling me that I need to format a bunch of drives before I can use them. I also get one drive that lets me open and it has a "images" folder in it, with a bunch of other files inside that. Not sure what is going on but any help would be awesome.

Seeing this exact same thing after going to a 4.4.2 ROM. I was coming from a 4.2.2 with TWRP 2.7 and now cannot get back in to recovery mode. I get just a black screen and also see the multiple drives popup when I plug in USB to the pc. I've tried flashing different recoveries with no luck. Hope a fix for this can be found.
Same problem but worse
I have this problem as well and have known that it needing fixing. Problem is the phone tried to auto-update to kitkat at night and now all i get is lg logo some commands in the top left then it tried to install via stock recovery. I can't get away from this as far as I know yet. I can't get to dl mode to just flash stock. I feel i might be completely boned. I tried pulling the battery ribbon to see if that would kick it out of this commanding it into recovery but I really don't know what to do at all at this point. Can someone help please or atleast tell me im boned so i can try to salvage. maybe do a warranty replacement. Thanks in advance
This thread will help with the "drives popping up", "black screen" etc..
--------------------------
For the ones with fastboot issue who can't enter dload mode:
download yor corresponding laf.img
Download this
extract it, put your laf.img inside(rename laf.bin to laf.img if needed), run "run this", you should be able to boot to download mode.

I was able to follow all of the directions in that post though it doesn't seem to have done the trick. I have left a post in that thread asking their opinion on things but idk if it will be answered since it is such a large post.
If you have any experience with these partitions, could you direct me to a way to stop the device from trying to run the OTA. This seems to be the largest problem as to why its not working since it pushes itself into recovery every boot, though it seems the recovery partition flash didn't take for some reason.
I am using 64-bit Ubuntu could that be an issue?
help me
my lg g2 got black while i was trying to install rom when i turn on it its screen got black noting show no logo no recovery mode noting :crying: plzzzz help meeeee plzzzz any body plzzzzzzz
Good evening everyone,
I will start off by saying that I really didn't do things by the book this time around. I have run out of ideas even as to what to Google to find similar cases to mine.
I wanted to flash Cyanogenmod onto my G2. Since I already had CWM installed, I loaded the ROM and Gapps. After wiping the phone, I went to flash from the zip. The flash failed. I tried again, and it happened again. I wiped the cache and dalvik again, and tried again. Still no flash.
At this point I go for the reboot only to realize that my phone is now stuck in a bootloop that is contantly landing me back into recovery.
I believe I really screwed up from here as I read about a way to exit the cwm bootloop by flashing a new "exitrecovery.zip" file. Since ADP wouldn't push the file for some reason, I used that function where the phone waits the file to be pushed and flashes it. That succeeded.
The phone switched off (after hanging on CWM for a bit) and now won't do anything at all. No boot logo, nothing. Can't get into CWM anymore either.
The computer brings up a bunch off drives which it wants me to format when I plug the phone in. Only one of them has a folder called "image" on it.
The display switches on, but won't do anything there.
Holding power+up reboots it after a few seconds and so does power=down.
I am thinking of just seeing if I can get it assessed by my carrier, hoping they'll have the tools to just reflash it... somehow. Else, is there a way to potentially fix this?
Back to stock
Put the phone in download mode (vol up while plugging in USB) and use the LG Flash Tool to return to stock. Instructions are posted in General section.

I have a backup I made with CWM.
If that helps, please point me into the right direction to restore it. I fail to see how I can do that without even being able to start cwm up.

Hey guys,
I have hit a dead end. I am stuck on a bootloop with no recovery installed. Actually, I do have Phliz recovery installed but it glitches everytime i try to go on it, I cant see anything apart from blurred lines. I tried flashing to stock using Lg support tool but I get stuck at 49%. Searching through XDA, I found that I have to wipe system/factory reset but I cant do that with a glitchy recovery.
What I have not tried:
- A different computer, I dont think it will help because I need to wipe the system which I cant
- ADB, i dont know how to do it
Is there anyway i can factory reset using the computer. Or is is it possible to flash another recovery such as TWRP by going into the glitchy Philz.
Any help will be much appreciated

Can you navigate the recovery menu using the volume keys? If you can then you might be able to use it blindly if you look at some screen shots of it!

Haha i tried that and I dont know if it worked but somehow the recovery started working and the first thing i did was to wipe the system. The problem im facing right now is with the LG support tool, it doesnt detect my device. Manually putting in my serial number and model doesnt help either. Using KDZ flash tools is another pain in the ass, it goes straight to the LG Support Tool without asking me to choose Country and Language
Are you on windows 8? And which guide are you following?
Was having issues with my Nexus 7(2013) this morning, rebooted the device and now it gets stuck at the "Google" loading screen.
I can get into the Fastboot loader. I was able to unlock the bootloader.. I have LOCK STATE - unlocked and the unlocked lock showing up on the "Google" boot screen.
I am UNABLE to get into Recovery mode.. either by selecting "Recovery mode" in Fastboot or holding the power and vol up buttons. It just sits on the "Google" boot screen.
I have downloaded and installed the SkipSoft Android Toolkit(mskip).. very nice toolkit BTW. But no matter what I do I'm unable to start the tablet up normally or get into a Recovery mode of any kind.
I have tried to flash TWRP. I have tried to flash the stock ROM. Nothing, still sits at the Google boot screen. Since flashing the stock ROM its been 30 min and still just says "Google".
I'm open to any ideas or anything that you can think of.
Still have TWRP and fastboot access? If so, use the command line fastboot the img using
"fastboot boot <filename>.img"
Reply back; do you get to recovery?

No.. I do not get into recovery of any kind. Stock or TWRP after loading it.. just sits at the Google screen.
Quick question; what were your partition setups like? F2fs? Ext4?

Answers all of my questions. I know myself I won't be able to help. All I can say is to try relocking and then unlocking again.

What that should do is wipe internal, could have some corruption there. Try doing the command line fastboot of the recovery.img again. Those are the only few things I can think of short from exercising your warranty.

Dont think I can use the warranty.. bought it used(1 hour old) from a friend for $100.. he got it and then decided he didnt like the aspect ratio. His loss, my gain. Until now.. lol
I'll keep hacking at it.. thanks again.
Anytime! You're welcome!
So the original issue I was having was that the screen was not responding to touches. Was unable to slide the unlock button on the screen.
I was able to "Boot to Custom/Stock Recovery without Permanently Flashing it" via SkipSoft Toolkit.. and had TWRP load up. But like before it was not responding to touches.
Starting to think this thing is totally borked.. =/
I'm able to get into TWRP now.. but sits on boot animation screen now. one step forward. Going to try and reload the stock ROM again and see if that helps.
That seemed to work.. at the Welcome screen.
So if anyone else runs into something like this..
Issues:
Flakey touch screen
Stuck on Google bootup screen
Eventually stuck boot loop animation
Get SkipSoft Android Toolkit, donate a couple bucks and keep flashing anything and everything you can. Sorry I can't give you a specific order that works. I would say try the 'ALLINONE'(#8) option first and then download and flash the stock ROM. I did several things in the toolkit a few times over and over. Hopefully I'm good now, if not I will update.
Have you tried reflashing recovery via fastboot?
Exact thing happend to my n4.
