Hello, i use CPU Tuner on my device, i have one config for everything but screen off.
the screen off i use userspace with the lowest frequency.
It work very well, how ever with Wake Lock detector i found out CPU tuner wake the device way too much for my taste.
With the Xposed module Per App Hacking, i can prevent CPU Tuner to wake lock the phone.
Is it a good idea, will the CPU Tuner set the right profile and then dont wake lock, or as it wont wakelock it wont change for the screen off profile when i lock the screen?
I was hoping for it to set the profile and then never wakelock after as it does, how ever i have no idea.
Anyone have a light?
why you prevent it,do you have no deepsleep since you have cpu tuner?because i tink its not so good to do it and when deepsleep is ok you didnt need to do it.

I don't know if this is a problem with the rom or my phone. When I lock the screen and try to turn it back on it stays black. The backlight is on and so are the button lights but nothing appears on the screen and I can't get out of it without a battery pull. Know any fixes or is this my phone?
Pretty common problem. There's a thread somewhere in this forum all about it. The title is something like '2 Second Wake Up lag' or something like that. Some of the tips in that thread are to use another button other than power to wake the phone, to wait a bit after shutting the screen off before waking, try changing your kernel, and something that some others say doesn't help but what works for me is to use setcpu app, and set a 384/422 min/max screen off profile with conservative governor and a 30% cpu load freq increase in the tab to the right of 'profiles' tab. It also has to do with which type of lcd screen you have, the sharp lcd has much less lag problems than the aou panel.

I have set my S4 up so that it runs at 100% display illumination when charging. No autobrightness.
What is bothering me know is that the screen dims to about 50% very quickly after I stop touching the display and jumps up to 100% while I touch it.
Toggling smart stay doesn't change anything. Smart stay on doesn't help even when I look at the display (though it should just prevent it from going off .. not from dimming if I understand correctly.
I would like to display to stay at 100% when charging .. or at least set dimming to "after 15 secs" or so.
What needs to be done?

I was reading about that and i found something about the chipset SnapDragon has an inside feature to adjust the screen brightness independently of the software (firmware on this case). Maybe you are watching that effect..

There is a small tool that fixes it: "Caffeine" .. obviously
Intelliscreen also does the trick .. and there is a timeout you can set (not sure if it messes up the timeout for regular use when not charging though).

Is not the solution because caffeine prevents from time up screen brightness but it doesn't prevent from cpu feature. Even if the screen is always wake up and the autobrightness is off, the brightness will be changed because the chipset.

Could this be related to heat? With the screen on and charging + what ever other task you have the S4 doing it may be the S600 is governing the screen to reduce heat... just a theory like.
I'm having the same problem too.
If i unlock the phone the screens dims to about minimum brightness.
I can touch the brightness bar to make it brighter and it stays that way for as long as i don't lock the phone
If i lock the phone and unlock it again the screen dims again?
Tried all different settings bur nothing helps...
Very annoying....
Yesterday i bought and installed lightflow to control my led indicator.
Just a minute ago i removed the app and voila! No more screen dimming!
Damn, really love that app but rather no led control than having my screen dimmed to the lowest possible brightness.
When I wake up one day,I founded out that the phone screen is very bright,I tried to adjust the brightness but I can't decrease it.In the phone setting the brightness setting is in the minimum but actually brightness is still the Max. I checked the auto brightness setting,it was turned off,I can use other application to adjust the brightness, but once I exit the application, the brightness adjust to the maximum by itself. Please help!!!
Look in the power settings from Security menu

It might be set by the power profile which is currently active, lots of changes will be revert to set value in the power profile.
Let me know if it helps.
Try to update the MIUI
You can try to download and update MIUI and check if the issue still persists.

did you tried installing brightness control app it might work
Still doest work...
i checked my power profile, i didnt set anything at all. And about using apps,i tried several apps but still it cannot adjust my brightness at all. When i use the apps, i can control the brightness, but when i exit the app without closing it (that is by home button), the brightness will auto adjust to the max brightness.
I'm looking for an app that will let me increase the minimum CPU frequency, but only when bluetooth is active. I don't want it messing with the CPU at any other time because I'd prefer the better battery life of the resting speed. I want it to turn on and set the new minimum when I turn bluetooth on, and turn itself off and go back to system defaults when I turn bluetooth off.
Anyone know of one? I'm rooted so that's not a concern.
Edit: It would also be ok if it's on all the time but will maintain low resting CPU frequency when it should, and only raise the minimum when bluetooth is on.
Set cpu and autoconfig cpu. Only for a53 cluster. Regards
Afaik, S Health uses the accelerometer and gps to determine the steps taken holding the device. Similarly, the smart lock feature uses the accelerometer for on-body detection. Question is: if i disable these features do the sensor turn off and save more battery, or would it be still powered on and just the apps not reading/using its data and hence no effect on battery saving? Can anyone help here plz?
You'd save battery by not using those features.
But won't the accelerometer be running in the background already?? Like with every movement of the device?? Or is it completely shut down?
I don't see any reason for the accelerometer to be running in the background without any apps using it.
