CPU governor app for specific conditions? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for an app that will let me increase the minimum CPU frequency, but only when bluetooth is active. I don't want it messing with the CPU at any other time because I'd prefer the better battery life of the resting speed. I want it to turn on and set the new minimum when I turn bluetooth on, and turn itself off and go back to system defaults when I turn bluetooth off.
Anyone know of one? I'm rooted so that's not a concern.
Edit: It would also be ok if it's on all the time but will maintain low resting CPU frequency when it should, and only raise the minimum when bluetooth is on.

Set cpu and autoconfig cpu. Only for a53 cluster. Regards

Screen too bright, fix + save battery

Evo screen is brighter than most phones with AUTO light sensor on = more battery drain.
Just found app "screen adjuster". It works along with LIGHT SENSOR. I'm setting it to 50%. So it's half the brightness and you keep the auto sensor on.

Going to try it out. I've thought the same thing for a long time. Thanks for the suggestion!
Tried this app out not sure how much battery it would save replacing the brightness with an app constantly running in the background considering it has to run 24/7 to maintain the brightness level I doubt it would save any battery if not kill it faster than the brightness level since 1. Brightness is off when screen is off but this is still running while screen is off and 2. The brightness only goes all the way up when you are in bright light so you can see the screen setting the app at 50% is really pointless since on auto the screen is at 50 - 70% when you are indoors

@Evil
I think your points are valid, but just wanna throw out that I think the OP is saying the baseline screen brightness is too high. At all levels.

It only sets Max at whatever level u set it to then autos from there, and it runs ~5mb ram constantly so it really doesn't do a whole lot it just sets, as an example, u set it to 80% with the app then on auto ur brightness goes from min to 80% and back to min or in between the two it doesn't dim all levels, and runs constantly so I would say its more trouble than its worth it would be nice if u could just set a lower Max and not need the app running 24/7

There MANY processes constantly running in the background, the OS is smart enough to pause most of these processes when in sleep mode (display off). For example, if you use the light sensor and your phone is off the sensor is not being polled anymore.
Setting 50% means if the brightness is normally at 100 it would be 50, if it was normally 50-70 indoors it would be really be 25-35 with the app.
Or a lower baseline, which I believe is the OPs point. But yes, running an extra ap is an inefficient way to do that.

The app doesn't pause it runs as a notification task killers don't touch it, and it doesn't work the way u think in lower light it will stay at 50% it just prevents the screen from going past where u set it it doesn't change the values of anything in the sensor just stops the screen from going above x% so if ur in a bright room where ur screen would be at 50% and u have it set to 50% it would still be at 50% not 25%, what I'm trying to say is the app doesn't work the way its advertised

This was on my list of things to be fixed nearly from the start but nobody, especially devs, seemed to care.

Display brightness
Based on experience what are the optimal display settings for the best battery life?
lol 0% is the optimum setting. really, the more its off, the more you save. the less its off, the more you save. its really up to your eyes and what you can tolerate. i just have a widget, at night i flip it to 0, and during the day if i'm out doors and in doors i leave it on auto, and if i'm indoors like at work, i leave it at 25%. what sucks is i don't smoke in my apt, so when i wake up i go outside for a cig and my screen's at 0, and i'm trying to read it in the sunlight to turn it back on lol... buuuuuut, i'm sure my way saves more battery than using an app that is constantly running

[Q] CPU Tuner and Wake Locks

Hello, i use CPU Tuner on my device, i have one config for everything but screen off.
the screen off i use userspace with the lowest frequency.
It work very well, how ever with Wake Lock detector i found out CPU tuner wake the device way too much for my taste.
With the Xposed module Per App Hacking, i can prevent CPU Tuner to wake lock the phone.
Is it a good idea, will the CPU Tuner set the right profile and then dont wake lock, or as it wont wakelock it wont change for the screen off profile when i lock the screen?
I was hoping for it to set the profile and then never wakelock after as it does, how ever i have no idea.
Anyone have a light?
why you prevent it,do you have no deepsleep since you have cpu tuner?because i tink its not so good to do it and when deepsleep is ok you didnt need to do it.

Cpu minimum very high on stock kernel

I use Device Control and i have see the cpu minimum is very high but i can select other. Is this normal?

How do I force the lowest CPU setting when screen off and highest when screen is on?

How do I force the lowest CPU setting when screen off and highest when screen is on?

How do you manage CPU Frequency and core count?

EX Kernal Manager can adjust core count (sometimes) but it cant adjust minimum and maximum CPU Frequency. It can adjust GPU Frequency (thankfully) but not CPU Frequency (you put in a value and it doesnt do anything and defaults back). its a ZE520KL and i am just trying to maximize screen on time, because there are 8 cores at 2ghz when you hold down the screen (its touchboost, annoying) and i think it is too much, i want to put in 4 cores 1689mhz but it wont allow.
Just change your governor to something more conservative. There, problem solved.
