Hello Guys!
Since I Updated my S4 to 4.4.2, i'm getting Huge Battery Drain. Mostly, i have about 15-20% left, and then it just turns off and i have 0%. Can somebody help me please?
Thanks, Atakan
Hey,
I have a similar issue. I did the update and now my phone won't get passed the "very low battery'' symbol....did all of the factory default wipes and cache wipes still...if its plugged in its low battery/heats up. If its not plugged in it boots up and screen goes black.
Really hope we can find a solution...

I have a D802, unrooted. I bought it online, not from a carrier.
I upgraded it to KitKat a month or two ago (the official update).
Within the last week it has started just losing power when the phone is still reporting 30%+ left on the battery. It does normally seem to die when I'm doing something, rather than when it's just on standby in my pocket. When the screen comes back on after plugging it into the charger it shows the same 30% or 40%.
I have tried a factory reset (albeit using LG backup to restore everything afterwards) and it doesn't seem to have helped.
Does anyone have any information on what might be causing this, and/or how to fix it?

This is most definitely a battery defect, so a hardware issue. The battery must have lost capacity - I've experienced the same happening with laptop battieries where some "cells" die and the laptop would just shut down at 30% battery.
Hello,
My girlfriend's Nexus 4 is having problems since she updated it to Lollipop. When it was at 4.4.4 Kit Kat, it was running fine, but since she updated it (OTA), now the phone is always loosing network (always asking for PIN code, like once or twice per 5 minutes) and the phone turns off at about 50% battery without any kind warning. After that happens, the phone only boots if plugged to the charger.
I tried to factory reset it and the problem persisted. The same happened after a manual installation of Lollipop, using adb tools. I don't know what to do know. I will try to revert to 4.4.4 KitKat and see if the same happens, but she would like to continue using Lollipop, because she prefers that OS.
Thanks for your help!
im in a similar situation...
i am in a similar situation....but at 80%, also, doing some hard task will power off the phone, and will not boot untill its in a charger.
You should just avoid over-stressing your batteries every day (which means discharging to 1%, using it too heavily while charging and such).
Lithium batteries have a life cycle, you know.
But she didn't overstressed the battery.. That problem only started after updating to Lollipop. She maintained her charging habits.
I have a friend in the exact same situation. He already factory reset his Nexus 4 and the problem persists. This only started to happen after the Lollipop update. Any ideas?
Howdy, everyone!
I have a problem with my G935F: the battery percentage stays stuck while the device is on, it gets updated on reboot but then won't change. If I connect the phone to the charger the icon in the status bar reflects that but the charge level still won't update until the next reboot.
Battery life is great and charging while the phone is off shows the correct percentage throughout, which makes me believe this is not a problem with the battery.
The phone is rooted and I'm on stock 6.0.1. I've already tried multiple full wipes and flashing several versions of the stock rom (including Nougat) but the problem persists. I've also tried clearing the cache and the dalvik cache to no avail.
Do you have any ideas about what the problem might be or what steps I may take to try and fix it? I'd like to rule out all possibilities before dishing out €50 to have the battery replaced!
Maybe you have an app that's interfering with the reported battery level. Does the battery indicator update properly when you boot the phone into safe mode?
Unfortunately, no.
No ideas?
Unfortunately the battery level is still incorrect even when the phone is booted in Safe Mode. However it is correct when the phone is charged while turned off and the battery life is normal, which makes me believe it's not a hardware problem...
Hey guys sorry to bump old thread , but found this thread and its good to not always make new threads Well, i also suffer some heating issues but recently my battery percentage stuck at 82% while i was charging with hotspot active , i dont know why it got stuck , but when i replugged the jack in usb port , it continues but after sometime stucks again at 84% , i cleared cache partition but its still the same. But if i turn off the phone and charge, it will proceed to 100% , so the only changes that i made in system are enabling developer options and installing nova launcher and xwidgets app , phone is not rooted and completely stock. Any hints guys ?
Hey guys,
today my phone just didn't show any other battery capacity than 50%. I had it on my car dash charger for multiple hours. This evening it still turned off and showed the "Battery too low" screen, so I assume it did not charge.
First, TWRP also showed 50% and a very long weird number as CPU (top left), then it stopped showing anything about the battery
After I turned it off and tried to charge it, it crashed in the bootlogo and rebooted.
Any ideas what to do? I already reflashed the firmware.
Best regards
Colin
I have this problem too
Just use it till it gets fully drained then charge it?fully
Currently encountering the same issue with my OP5 now and when I consulted a tech regarding this one, he informed me that it may be a possible motherboard or battery issue. Will have my OP repaired by early January and hoping that it's only a battery issue(fingers crossed).

Looks like you drained the battery too much and the battery chip got confused. Or worse, one of the cells died. This doesn't just happen to OP5, but to all batteries.
There are a few options:
Replace the battery: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/OnePlus+5+Battery++Replacement/103028
Turn off the phone, then charge it fully while off. Then slowly drain the battery again, in a way where the phone isn't sleeping so Android can gather battery statistics.
If above didn't work, then do above method, but also clear battery statistics in TWRP, or the recovery of your choice.
There's the option of putting it in a vacuum sealed bag, and putting it in the freezer. Google for details, and do's & dont's.
Hope this helps!
Did you get the issue fixed? Currently I'm also having the same problem
Hi everone. I have the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Octa core version). Recently, i noticed that the battery had a strange behavior, so i planned to replaced when i finish my exams. During that time, the phone started to shut down randomly, so i bought a new battery thinking that would resolve all the problems, but it won't. The phone keeps shutting down alone, it happends when the battery percentage is below 60% and for turn on again i have to connect the phone charger or remove the battery and put it in again. Some times, the baterry percentage changes -/+ 15%, even from 40% to 3%. Oddly, sometimes the phone just get a black screen when i using it or the screen suffers some kind of distortion and shuts down.
Already did a factory reset and did some test on safe mode, but no luck. Curiously, when the phone is charging, there are no problems of any type.
Any clue of what could be?
