GT-N8013 will NOT get updated, sorry - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

I spoke to tech support last night and they did not have any information regarding this model of the Galaxy Note 10.1. Since they didn't seem very knowledgeable I sent Samsung support an email where I stated that while I do enjoy my tablet I'm rather taken aback by the lack of updates. I requested that they at least state that they're not releasing updates for this instead of having us keep hoping.
I got this reply earlier this afternoon:

This obviously doesn't mean other tablets won't get updates and it's clear that the 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1 will, but it is a little refreshing to at least know not to expect anything. Disappointing, but refreshing. Hopefully this'll clarify any doubts.
Maybe I'll start working on a ROM for it. Haven't made one in a while.

Where did they say that no updates are coming? They said none are available and they don't have any information to provide on when they would be coming. Samsung has already officially announced that the tablet will be being updated to 4.4

When do you realize that the Samsung support is just a joke - nothing more or less... They have no info, they don't know anything and if something happens, they know it last... Sorry, but that I feel about them.

This thread is useless. There's official information out there sent out by Samsung's Press Dpt. Why did you even bother asking a tech guy/tech support when one says one thing and another says something else? Like:
- "Your tablet will get the Android OS update" (LOL, no mention of version nor anything else)
- "The Galaxy Note will get 4.2 Android update" (Yeah.....)
- "No updates"
- "No info"
Basically that resumes how useless this information was to our forums (it does not contribute to anything, really). So please request to delete this. Or you could've at least posted in the appropriate thread.

Android hater everybody know the Official Announcement from the coming update.

What floors me is that the OP is not a newbie here, I would have expected more from someone of that caliber.
Not to mention I as a Cowboy's Fan would expect more from a Texan.

I must say, it sounds like you were harrassing the rep.
A Guy my brother works with was just complaining about his Droid X due to the 2.2 release he received two weeks ago. I understand why the devs want the release but for the rest of us, patience will serve us best.
There is a GPS fix on the forum. Do some searching and enjoy the fruit of our developers' labors.

Dude, you are a freakin ignorant dumbass. The only people that have info on the ETA of the 2.2/2.3 update are the Samsung developers and Verizon rom builders, not customer support. Please do yourself a favor and shutup or work a customer facing job to realise how it is to be not in the loop.

I really hope you're joking, but judging by the rest of your posts, I'm sure you aren't. In the admittedly short time I've had playing with iPhones, I can honestly say that they're absurdly overhyped. They really don't do anything better than any other phone on the market. Plus, Apple is content with repackaging the same thing(more or less) time after time with relatively minor tweaks and adjustments to keep their consumer base hooked. The iPhone isn't going to save anybody from anything, because by the time it actually comes around to Verizon, there be even more advanced phones on VZW(dual core, 4g, 2.3, etc). The iPhone will just seem antiquated by comparison(to the ones that actually give a damn about phone hardware/software) and that's an honest fact, not me being biased or a fanboy. This is just my 2 cents, it's kind of ridiculous for you to come and post that in an Android phone section of the forum. On topic, I have to agree with bwheelies. Working in an area where I have to deal with irate customers daily really gives me another perspective on things like this. It's really difficult to answer questions people have when the info hasn't trickled down to me and they continually press the issue and get pissed about it.
I'm really starting to think that a moderator on here should create a general rants and raves section like Craigslist, that way if we want a good laugh or to read something completely rediculous, we could go there instead of it flooding the important forums. People like you should be banned from here. Do us all a favor and search next time, you will see that there are at least 3 other posts almost identical to yours that you could've given your 2 cents two.

I'm pretty sure you're directing that at me, so I'm going to reply accordingly. The only thing I did was reply to a troll being a troll. Wasn't really trying to rant, it just came out as that. I don't flood the forums with anything, generally my posts are on topic and direct. In fact, this is the first time I've ever ranted about anything. What exactly should I be searching for? Guys The iphone will always lack in hardware sooner or later to Android.... a new android phone gets announced every day. But since the iphone was released no new phone has beat it in total hardware performance. And as far as doing anything better than android.....well it just offers more. what good is a OS when there are no applications on it.
Iphone wins in that area.
PS i was the guy that got banned for a few weeks cause i was handing out the Verizon leaked update to everyone...while mods were keeping it to themselves!! I didnt get it from them but they tend to keep things for themselves.

There was no reason for you to be such a douche. I work in customer service and we can't stand people like you. You think we know everything and that we just like to keep information from you to piss you off. We tell you what we know, and we often don't know much since we're JUST customer service reps. We're not the software developers, we're not corporate, and we often learn about things just before you do as the consumer.
You're not even being a **** head to the right person. You should find the contact information for Samsung Corporate and get a hold of them somehow. They're the decision makers and they're the people who decide when **** comes out, not customer service. I can speak from experience, if you're professional and conduct yourself in a polite manner you'll get results. Once you start being a complete ignorant asshole, we do the bare minimum for you.
I hope you're happy that you made an innocent person's day more difficult because you wanted your stupid software update.

(Not Xperia PLAY Related) Help with Petition to get JB for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Hello everyone. I know this is not Xperia PLAY related and I am posting this here. But in the spirit of the XDA to see improvement from not only within but also the OEMs. I would like to extend a request that in this spirit that although many, if not all may or may not have a a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (which I do) if anyone would be kind enough to sign he petition to get Samsung to release Jelly Bean for the awesome tablet?
Here is the link. The goal is to get at least 1000 sigatures. I do not know if this petition will make a difference with Sammy but it doesnt hurt to try and it only takes a minute. Be advised after signing it does ask if you would like to donate to the website, you dont have to.
I am sure there will be users who will write a post that this is NOT Xperia PLAY related and you would be correct. But I do feel that the spirit of this community is to assist and to be a source of accomplishingments. So with that I would like to say thank you in advance. We have good developers owned Galaxy Phones. But Sammy is not relasing source code and proper documentation for our phones and phablets. Android phones are only supported with the updates till 18 months. Then no more updates. I hope in the past, in nokia times people didnt get any updates... the phone only has what it had when it comes out of the box.
We should be thanking both samsung for futuristic hardware and google for the polished updates.

You know well enough I was referring to your history of anti-moderation posts stemming from late 2012.
And despite your claims of not wanting to escalate it, it seems to me that you did want to escalate it because as with several of your posts you were plain nasty or your branch of sarcasm (whatever you want to call it) when there was no need to be and having that sort of tone in your posts is always going to draw a response.

Tell Samsung to include Camera 2 in its Lollipop update

Not sure if this type of thing is permitted, but here goes.
I've posted a note to Samsung on my blog to try and get them to include support for the new Camera 2 API in the Lollipop update for, at least, the Note 4 and S5. Sharing on FB, Twitter and tagging Samsung is the easiest way to try to get them to hear users.

It is too late for the S5 as updates have already been release...same thing for the Note 4. I didn't fully look at your letter, but perhaps state for future updates because the current is already done.
I don't have my Lollipop update yet. Regardless of whether it's the first update to Android 5 or subsequent is irrelevant. The point is that Samsung should support the Camera 2 API.
There are companies that do listen to their customers. And it's not unheard of for a company to change direction if enough of its customers express a desire for (or against) something.
I have seen it posted in the International Forum that "it's there but switched off". I'm sure we will see it in a future update.
I dont get all the negativity. If you don't want to help, don't reply and move on.

It's not there because Samsung doesn't use camera2 api. They made their own because Google still sucks at it.

To the OP, Trying to use the camera2 is not as easy as it sounds, Remember, updates also need to be downwardly compatible, that makes enacting something much harder, or buggier.
So, couple that with then having all supporting app devs to adjust or modify their apps to work with it...... just not as simple as releasing a new feature or update.....
