Hi all!
I am almost done getting my Today screen looking the way I want it - but I need one last item. I need a simple Analog Clock - nothing terribly fancy, and I don't need any additional features to go with it. Just a clock that I can sit on my today screen....
Googled and didn't find anything (SBP time, but it has WAY more stuff that what I am looking for)...
Anyone know of such a plug-in?
Thanks!
never fear, for i shall create one!
vijay555 has it. As he mentioned, he has not package it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39417&highlight=
I'll try to have another think about packaging it up. Problem is, when I release it, someone will want to skin it, or resize it, or change the position etc. It's the follow up that puts me off releasing it :? VJEphemeris is customised for my use, and is built on a more generic skinning engine I'm working on, but I'm working on improvements incrementally.
Mention some ideas and me or whoever else releases one can try to implement it.

Vijay - I went and looked at the other thread, and the clock you have on your today screen is pretty much exactly what I was looking for...
As far as ideas go - I'd love to have it transparent....
I was on the bus yesterday heading to a Bulgarian folk music festival. Long story, but also a long journey, so I spent some time thinking about the plugin.
As I said, VJEphemeris is an experiement in skinning and a general "do everything I can put into it" plugin, but unfortunately due to time pressures (pun intended) I've not been able to work on it for a while.
However, I spent some time thinking about the plugin. It already does transparency and stuff; I guess it'll need a date line as well. I'll give it a go, again subject to time pressures... but I also said that about 6 months ago

Vijay, that would completely rock!
Thanks muchly!
I agree with kehlert, we need a small lightweight simple clock, about the size of the one on your magician post Vijay.
Just as it is would be great, but floating and selectable opaque/transparent would be nice as well.
I'll bet there are a few of us waiting with bated breath
Will wait meekly though Vijay

update
I acutally, before posting, sent SPB a question regarding the Time app - if it had a Today plug-in... They say in the *next* version it will, but not the current one....
So close to being set with my today screen...

There is a standard analog clock. On my vario, if i press and hold on the clock, it asks me if i want digital or analog. I must admit it is a little small and probably not what you are after.

Yup - *way* small (was aware of that from previous PPC)
Thanks, tho!
you can use WisBar Advance Desktop from Lakeridge software
you can make any png file as your clock
it is very nice program
something like this?

Installing as I type....
<time elapses>
Wow - that's pretty much what I was looking for, except for the multiple clocks...
ViJay - if you're still working on the single clock, I am still interested - this just gives me something workable for now...
Thanks JwY!!
you're welcome
i just remembered this thread when i came across that so it was perfect timing
Anyone knows a stopwatch for the wizard? supporting wm5?
the best would be freeware, but not only.
thx
This one works well and you can assign it to the d-pad. Works with button 4 as default and has a timer. Its freeware
Cab is attached.

No problem, not all forum users are as considerate as you - thanks
Plus there is the forum's own topcaser with his egg timer come stopwatch see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=44933
Good job topcaser!

thank you for posting this cab.

thank you for posting this cab.
Off topic a bit. I'm looking for a timer that works even when my phone is off. I'm more into a 30-2 hours timer. Any recommendation?
The egg timer only works if I had my device on.
Will give this ago when I get AS back on my PC...
Thanks

apmemo 1.0 is freeware and good for longer time.
Hi all, I'm new to posting here, but have been snooping about getting all the good bits for my BA for a while. So thanks very much for that!
I've recently upgraded to WM6 and noticed that the alarm clock is almost exactly the same as the one for WM2003SE, but for one small difference. The alarm clock repeat is so far apart that there is next to no point repeating it. I'm a heavy sleeper and need something that constantly goes off to wake me up. I used the alarm clock on my BA for a year or so without it ever failing.
I've read through the other threads; here and here; and I've decided that instead of adding to my BA's memory usage etc, I would prefer it if there was a little fix which would just go in and find where the alarm program is, and change the repeat time to maybe 2 seconds after it finishes playing? Is that possible?
Many thanks!
Heya,
I've sent you a private message as well, but the best opp for this is SPB Time, the only problem is that it isn't for free...
But this does it all, it wakes you with 2 big buttons on screen, snooze and dismiss and you can just select no matter which MP3 on your device and select repeat times or number of repeats and even plan for a whole month if you like...
Greetz
Or if you are a music lover.
Try Pocket Music Plus.
It is a commercial software too and it uses your playlist as the alarm melody.
sent you a pm.
Thanks to both of you. I'll look in to them both and see which I prefer.
I was really after a fix for the current alarm clock, asit used to work great in wm2003SE, apart from teh occasional bug if one alarm over ran another it would crash.... But thanks, I'll try both of them!
After spending the summer learning c# and .netcf I got my hands on a Diamond and had to make some small apps.
They're very beta and pre-release versions, but please try 'em out and give me some feedback
VibraNotify
Senses when the phone lays idle and when it is on the move, if it has been stationary for some time and it gets picked up it vibrates if there's been any unattended activity (sms, appointments, missed calls).
Should probably add some gui components for sensitivity tweaking.
CallBlocker
Rejects all callers enlisted in the supplied text-file. Currently the text-file contains "all" telemarketing numbers in norway (from telefonterror.no).
Speedometer
Really simple GPS-utility showing the current speed in different units.
Nice work!
Downloading them now.. and gonna try 'em right away...
I was thingking about another thing that the VibraNotify could do (or as a different program)
Like a theft alarm.. If the phone has been idle for some time.. and it gets piked up.. you have to enter a code.. if you dont, a high alarm sound will start
(I'm not gonna take the cred for this, someone else spoke of it in this forum some time ago)
Thanks. I'm going to try it!
Nice! I`ll have a look. Would be nice if you could set some settings, like idle time on the Vibra thingy!
Nice ... thank you.

How long is some time?
Surur
ok.. I tested VibraNotify...
I'm gonna use it for sure
But I noticed that if i get a sms and move it, it vibrates...
but if I don't check the sms... and move it again later, it doesn't vibrate
I think it should vibrate until I have checked the sms?
It's little bit annoying to see these programs working in task manager... is it possible to hide them? I mean they will be working in background... Especially vibranotify...
plus is it possible to add numbers to list for callblocker? I could not do that... well it saves as .txt file when i try to modify and save the list...
Theft alarm could definitively work, how about a mp3 shouting "Put the mobile down with two fingers only!"? Hehe
Regarding the idle time, I think I used 10 seconds, if you don't hide the windows you can se it changing states. The number outputted is the square of the sum of the changes in the accelerometer values.
I will add some gui components and registry settings for this when I got time, would be more dynamic that hardcoded constants.
I'm not sure if I understood what you meant NisseDILLIGAF, doesn't it vibrate if you got unread sms'es when you pick the phone up from i.e. the table?
emre_aachen:
Just add the numbers to the textfile, seperate by a newline, save and reload the application. It caches the numbers, maybe a wrong design decision? Comments?

No... What I mean is if I get a sms and I accidentally move the phone, It vibrates...
I haven't checked the sms (I don't know that I have a message)
When I pick the phone up ... there is no vibration... It only vibrates once..
It would be great if It would vibrate every time I move it untill I have read the sms...
Like the flashing center button... It continues to flash until I have cheked the sms or a missed call or whatever...
again.. Thanx for a great app .. It's gonna be a standard app for my phone
Ah, then I follow you. This could certainly be done! Maybe an option in the gui to enable/disable...
I certainly need to reinstall VS to continue developing
I'm keeping this topic in view, sounds like a nice app. But as read from the comments, it still needs a little bit of work (setting etc).
Nice work!

As you seams to know what you are doing I'll give you my two cents for a simple apps:
You know that when the Diamond is in standby with black screen you can't see if you have signal or not.
It's possible to have the DPAD flash when the phone in standby mode have no signal ?
Maybe it can stop flashing when the signal came back.
Let mi say after 15 sec. with no signal it start blink with 5 sec delaied flash and after a customizable time the blink
become more quick to allert that you are not reachable for a long period...
It will be wery usefull to know that without touching it.
Let me know and thank you for your great work!

I'm afraid this is not possible, when the diamond is in standby (black screen) it's pretty much like if your computer is in standby mode, all running programs are paused. Checked into this when doing the vibranotifyer, since running it in standby was my original plan.
I certainly hope I'm wrong, maybe someone can correct me?
Hey,
just thought I'd write a quick note to thank you for your programs. Small and simple, its a dream.
Keep them small and simple.
What I'm really looking for is an application to replace my Garmin305 EDGE, and I hope that you continue to develop your GPS stuff to include some of the training and tracking features that the Garmin had.
I found this program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340667
Its called TrackMe, but its clearly not developed for the Diamond, as running it clips my battery time down to 1.5 hours.
What would be nice is to run each feature as an individual streamlined application, like your speedometer.
Anyways, thanks again.
And keep up the good work.

Too bad, but maybe I was not clear in my request.
I mean that the phone is only with the screeo switched off, but it is still active.
For example when it is in this state the phone can ring on a call or on sms...
If I understand well you mean that an apps like S2U2 can't do anything if the screen is offf while you press the power button ?
Thank you for further explanations, I'm really curious on that...

AFAIK the calling, sms'ing etc is handled on a lower layer than what is allowed for the programs, suppose the hardware raises events or something when this happens which wakes up the OS.
Can't seem to see that S2U2 does anything while the mobile is in standby mode?
I just noticed something... maybe I'm wrong..!?
But It feels like the battery is draining faster with the VibraNotify!?
Anyone else that noticed something like this?
Gonna test some more... I'll know more tomorrow...
Hi *,
On my old HTC Jade, I've had the posibility to tap on the battery icon in the title bar and see, in the window that was opened, a list of statistics for the current charge of the battery:
- how many hours since the last charge,
- how many hours was used since the last charge;
- how many minutes - talk time..
etc.
I saw that this little app is missing on Leo. How can I get this? Does anybody knows what I'm talking about?
Thanks!

nothing like this has been released for the Leo that I know of, the closest i've seen is a mortscript linked from the XDA Portal (browse in it) that lets you know the time that has passed since last boot. But nothing like an application that "forecasts" the remaining battery life.
Ok, so nobody heard about anything like this....
Another question then. Is there any way to read this in .NET CF?
