Battery Life - Moto X General

I'm curious as to the average battery life of the Moto x. I figured it might be useful to see if everyone that is willing could post a screenshot of their battery life from 100% to 1% without any charging. Also post any info on your usage for that day or so. If enough people post then we could get a really good idea of what the real world battery life for the Moto x is, helping anyone who might have issues. I just charged o/n so I'll post mine later tonight.

You're kidding right? Isn't this what you mean?

Nope... that thread is a mess. I'm talking about posting screenshots only, more of a scientific data gathering approach with very specific criteria.

Yup. More clutter. LOL
Sorry OP, but there's an extensive thread already.
You guys wonder why the forum is a mess and hard to sort thru all the repeated information. Well this is an example of why that is.
This needs to be closed.

Person 1: Try reading the battery thread, good stuff in there.
Person 2: which one....there's like 5?
See?

If the mods want to close the thread, no skin off of my back. I was just trying to help organize the information. The other thread is 200 pages of mess. I've tried to sift through it but it's to cluttered with off topic stuff, people's opinion etc. I thought it would help to have a thread similar to post your homescreen...except post your battery life only under these specific conditions.
I think if people are gonna come down hard on opening new topics that are similar to other ones the Mods should regulate the threads better so as to stay on topic and not let it get to >200 pages where only 20% is actually useful.

The moderators will get to it. They are busy people with lives of their own.
This topic has a thread. Do we need another one that will eventually be just as cluttered, filled with opinion...etc etc...?
You've just created clutter...not helped cut it down.
Take care!

So you created a new thread instead of reporting the old one?
Also if you want to report your battery stats just do it in the ROM/kernel threads .
This type of thread is not what XDA is about.
We do not allow the comparisons of ROMs
feel lucky we have not closed the existing battery thread already. They all end up a mess

overclocked g2 temps?

I'm currently overclocked at 1.3ghz, and wondering what temps would be considered safe? Any help would be appreciated.
Wrong section, but your phone shouldn't go over 100 degrees Fahrenheit too often. It should stay between 80 degrees - 98 degrees.
Why didn't you just post in overclock thread?

My bad fellas. I wanted a quick response and that thread moves way too fast. I was converned last night because while browsing websites for less than ten minutes while charging, my temps got up to 102 while clocked at 1.3ghz and 1ghz. I read that the droid x guys who are overclocked said temps up to 120 is safe.
Is setcpu's widget temps reading batt temp or cpu temps?
Mods, feel free to delete, move, or whatever is necessary.

I believe it is battery temperatures.
And I also have the failsafe on SetCPU set to 120 degrees Farenheit.

Thanks for the info. On setcpu I've been running performance mode. Took your advice and switched to on demand to access sampling rate. Default was set at 50,000. Switched to 2500 but not really seeing a difference. how does this play a factor in regards to sampling rate?

No worries man; I know peoples just want to have fun in here and sometimes its difficult to see sarcasm haha.
Back on topic. The general consensus says the safe zone is about 97 degrees when overclocked. When charging, the phone gets hot fairly fast. I like to run games when plugged in and want to utilize the increased speeds while playing games and so forth. However my temps get up to 103 before I drop down from 1.3 to 1ghz. Should I be worried staying in these temps, or should I say 120 degrees would be more questionable?

So I tried to post in a ROM thread and get a message saying I'm not aloud cause I'm under 10 post and no expert but yet I was able to post there the other day twice which was no repost or a noob question. So now I can't post a question that still has not been posted by anyone else or has been posted anywhere. So guess I need to just make random post bout 7 more time so that can make me a expert at knowing what's going on just to post in certain threads ... Cool
What did you want to post? They had an announcement a few days ago about why new members (under ten posts) would no longer be able to post in the development section. Nothing to get upset over.

But the question I had was I'd anyone knew of anything bout CM putting in more themes in the rom itself or there gonna be a new thread where we can dl them from? Also what if I had a problem to report bout a rom but couldn't post in the right thread am I to make a new one or sit back and wait to see if anyone ever post the same problem? Thanx for the help/advice

Generally the themes are in the "Themes and Apps" section. I think they figure that if you've gone through the process of rooting your phone, learning to use adb and flashing ROMs and kernels you've probably exceeded ten posts. They just want to keep the development sections clean so the developers stick around. I happen to think that's a great idea.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
All you have to do is post ten times before you can post there, and if you are here enough contributing that shouldn't be so hard...?
It's a great idea. If you are going to root your phone and flash ROMs, hopefully you've taken the time to know everything involved in doing so.
Too many root their phones and have no idea what they are doing. It's not that hard to read and watch video to learn how things work.

Unfortunately, 90% of the posts by new users are in the wrong thread when they post to the development section. If you are in the 10% that do know what that section is for, then great, make your 10 posts and unlock the door. And thank you for contributing! Once you have been for awhile, you'll start to see for yourself why they made that change.
If it was a question then.. it shouldn't been in development
There's your problem from the start
Imo I think they should make the post count higher to post in development or even better they should hafta get a mod to approve if your allowed to

I'm down for a higher post count, 10 can be too simple, and people can just post a bunch of stupid ish in random forums to get to it. If you have a specific question about a rom, chances are you haven't read through the 30+ pages of that thread. So instead of posting about it again, search JUST the rom thread, not the android dev. forum, with 1-2 keywords of your problem, more likely than not, you will find a fix for your problem, or see that it is still unresolved.

I've been coming to XDA for about 6 months now, but I haven't been posting on the threads because I'm able to solve issues myself. It sucks that they just added this when there are plenty of people who are mature enough to search and solve their problems without complaining about not being able to find a fix. It seems like, once again, the ignorance of few have ruined it. I guess I'll just have to answer some questions until I get up to 10 posts so I can actually give input on bugs and other ROMs I test.

XDA answered your questions and provided ROMs to flash for your enjoyment for 6 months... I think 7 more informative/helpful posts is the least you can do to give back.
I'm also working my way up to 10 so that I can join in the CM7 discussion on this forum.
That is a ridiculous rule. It only does one thing it keeps some spamer or troll from sighing up and do his dirty deeds quick. Nothing else.
I have over hundred post and a title like "senior member", like that's supposed to be anything. I can tell you right now I don’t no my head from my ass. ~ & worse; I think I'm funny.
Vibrant Axura 2.2 Voodoo 5 JL5 via the XDA app
It has nothing whatsoever to do with spamming and trolling. If it was to control spam and trolls, don't you think they would have applied some kind of rule to ALL forums and not just the developer forums?
It's blatantly obvious that it's to keep people who don't know any better from posting off-topic non-development questions in the development forums. By the time somebody makes 10 posts, they've hopefully figured out where to post things.
I honestly can't believe this is even an issue... its 10 freaking posts. Get over it.

Be realistic. I realize many people here are so anal about posting in wrong forums and always go about ' out of topic. Delete thread please'. Didn't know Internet had such draconian rules. And it seem to me people just get kicks from flaming all the 'noobs' in xda talking about its 'former glory', without noobs .
Now I understand why people shy away from Android and prefer the simpler iphone. It's because they won't face criticism for being new to the area. Remember we are all once a noob. People should be more helpful instead of so hostile over here.

I didn't suggest posting anywhere as the rules say you can't use the market until you have been a member for a year. I did the correct thing by reporting it.
The reason I posted is to let the other people that help keep the forum clean know, that I had reported, hence saving the moderators from dealing with multiple reports.
Furthermore, have you stopped to consider the op might be a scammer?(Apologies op) and that is why rules exist, in order to minimise the risk of such occurrences.
If you have a complaint about me, then feel at liberty to report me. If not, then you know what to do.

I never said OP was absolutely right. My point being people here flaming for every small things. Sure go ahead and report the thread, no need to add insult to injury and go about being all sarcastic. Just let the moderators do their job.
Don't you think applying ' law and order' is a bit far fetch here? I do not believe OP has any ill intents other than having a question.
Sometimes I don't get the moderators or some forummers. No offense but I feel that there is nothing wrong with the having discussions about things related to s3 in the GENERAL section. Just like why I don't understand why the thread regarding sunlight readability of s3 was closed. Sometimes I come into this forum and feel that it's quite dead, with only very few threads that are alive. Many threads on comparison of Iphone and s3 were closed. I mean why can't we post apple news here, we s3 users can discuss about how superior our s3 are to the iphone! its quite troublesome to switch to and forth from iphone section to s3 section if we wanna discuss about both phones isn't it. I
I might be wrong but I do not believe having more threads and discussions, even those that may be slightly out of topic, will cost a whole lot of bandwidth . Why not make the general section more lively other than sticking with the!'jelly bean discussion' and 'jb leaks bugs' thread alone?
Thread closed, selling of devices is only allowed in the marketplace.

Is this Spam on XDA?
Why I should install a app from a unknown person?
Just ask directly what you need?
Credit card pin code or something like that?

Might even be good to say what kind of app you are looking to even get tested, then just ask for account numbers and pins.
How about people look at his thanks meter and check out the links in his signature etc before assuming he's spamming and "asking for your PIN"? :good:
Wow....this is a trust indicator for you?
A Ebay seller with 1000+ fake ratings is also a trusted person?
I will spend few years of my time on XDA, writing here and there, and later you'll give me your pin codes?

Nope, not at all. I'll make an informed decision based on the information I have to hand, rather than make knee jerk commentary reactions on a post from a dev, on a dev forum, asking for testers.

So at least for me: A clear NO to testing any of his apps.
I'm not sure whether to , or :crying:...
Personal opinions on the glorification of violence through stickman fighting aside, has anyone contacted him to test the app?
It seems like the functionality would be useful as an add on to the S-Pen, or as an S-Pen tool for if/when AOSP/CM roms start appearing.

Why would your credit card pin be on the phone? Why would you think this recognized dev is trying to do anything other than test his app?

Work on your reading comprehension skills. He not only said what kind of app, he gave its name, and his signature links to the note 3 version of the app. What's wrong with you people today?

If you want some one to test an app, it should be listed and noted in the body of the message. I should not have to do research to figure out what app they are looking to get tested, or try to hunt down what the app does. My reading comprehension skills are just fine. I am not going to dig through some ones signature to try and figure out what they are asking people to do for them. Now it is a good idea to have the stuff listed in their signature for people to stumble across it when they are making other posts on the forums, but it should not be expected for people to do that when they are specifically asking for testers.
Granted, he could have been more informative in the OP, but there's just no need for "ERMAGHERD HE'S AFTER OUR PINS!" style posts.
Tell him what you need, what you think he should have asked for, ask him what he wants; converse with the man, rather than openly mocking him.

Might even be good to say what kind of app you are looking to even get tested, then just ask for account numbers and pins.

Is this Spam on XDA?
Why I should install a app from a unknown person?
Just ask directly what you need?
Credit card pin code or something like that?

Yes because emailing me automatically gives me your account numbers and pins. If you don't want to help that's okay. Nobody forced you to email me.

How about people look at his thanks meter and check out the links in his signature etc before assuming he's spamming and "asking for your PIN"? :good:

Surprised how many are on Project Fi! I would probably try it if I wasn't a big data user. Tbh don't think it would work too well in my area either
