I can't connect my Nexus 4 with CM11(kitkat) to my Samsung Smart TV.
1. I select the option Screen Mirroring on the TV, it's says that it's waiting for the device so...
2. Settings>Display & lights>Screen Cast and there is the tv under the name [TV]Bed room
3. Select the TV and say connecting to Android_abc.. then Android_abc is connected and after 1 or 2 seconds the Screen Mirroring Close with the message: Screen Mirroring has terminated or finalazed (it's in spanish so..)
On developer options the option of HDCP - DRM I chose: Never. I read somewhere that with CM that option would work.
When I active the certification for the wireless screen, when I select the tv I send a message with a PIN then I recieve a message from the tv with another PIN.
Sometimes the tv show me a PIN that I should write on my device so the pop-up appears and I write the PIN but in all the cases th Screen Mirroring close.

Same problem over here... I read that we should use the "AllShare Cast" app from samsung for samsung devices. However this app was adapted for other devices but I find only dead link now...
My S4 Screen Mirroring will not work with the Actiontec Screenbeam Pro. It goes thru the process of verifying security then says "successfully connected to screenbream pro...your device display will appear shortly" on TV. After a few seconds, I get "connection failed" on TV and "screen mirroring has been turned off" message on my S4.
Seems like it's running into some firewall on my S4. Is it Knox? Anyone else having success connecting with a dongle/adapter connected to HDTV? On another forum, one poster reported success screen mirroring w/ the Netgear Push2TV PTV3000. I saw a Feb 1st review on Samsung's AllShare Cast Wireless Hub where the S4 reviewer reported their S4 wouldn't even connect w/ the Samsung product. I've done the Factory Reset several times after phone call w/ Samsung. Still no hint of successful connection.
I have a Verizon S4 running 4.3. Is the 4.3 update blocking it like I've seen a few other posters in other forums guess? I know the Screenbeam Pro has worked mirroring the S4 because I've seen YouTube vids of the successful pairing...Unfortunately the vids were made late last year and may have been made when the phone had 4.2
I'm at my wits end looking everywhere for an answer....Thanks for any help you may be able to provide!
the allshare cast dongle was working very well on my note n8000 running JB 4.1.2 and once while i connected the dongle, asked for update the dongle on the notification bar and after update the dongle no more connected inspite the note read and find it but after connected telling me the (curreent allshare cast will ended)..i format the note, i tried another rom, i did every thing but lastly tell me (current allshare cast dongle will end cause of hardware issue).please what can i do

Exact same thing happening to me now. Did you get it sorted?
Make sure your on stock kernel, if that isnt it then i dont know what to tell you.

I had a similar issue with wireless display sharing. I found a thread that recommended using Triangle Away - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.triangleaway which got me back up and running.
I'm on stock. Had the same problem but there is a patch in the play store. I think it is called "screenmirroringpatch".

I am having hell of a time with my new All Share Cast Dongle.
It plugs in etc... and turns on, but on the S5, it says a "A Screen Mirroring update has been downloaded. Restart Screen Mirroring to update".
Nothing I do can it to work, I have unnstalled all allshare cast related items, restarted. eberything except a factory reset. the Screen mirroring simply DOES NOT WORK!!!

Just for those googlers who come across this.
I managed to solve it.
For some (what ever?) reason it didnt work when connecting to my HDMI monitor. So when I got home I connected the dongle to my TV and it came up on the screen with the colourful dongle welcome page saying 'Please connect a device'.
I started the screen mirroring app on the phone (settings > Screen Mirroring > On, selected dongle).
Then the phone uploaded a new firmware to the dongle which took a minute or two. Once this happend the dongle restarted and all was OK.
When connected to the monitor at the office, the dongle firmware update got to 27% (on the phone display - there was nothing on my monitor), then it stopped.
So, Connect to a TV. Start screen mirroring and let it update the dongle. Works GREAT!

I have it connected to my TV but I only get the same message to turn off screen mirroring. Is anyone trying this rooted or stock?
OK, I had to first force stop the allshare cast SW download then uninstall it. I was then able to connect to the dongle and it downloaded the software again. All is good now. I also found out that it will not work with certain custom kernels, so please ensure that you are using stock kernel or it will not connect to the dongle.

Well that defeats purpose for me. I need a kernel that allows SELinux to be permissive so it can send bluetooth commands to appradio.

Let me check with another custom kernel to make sure that it was not just the one that I had at the time. I will let you know later on tonight. What ROM are you running and what software version?

Im running DIAMOND rom v8 and AGNI kernel, and did triangle away, etc , but it doesnt work, it appears the same message on the phone:

I'm currently having the same problems on my GT-N5100 (note 8.0)
So my note 3 wont connect to my smart tv with screen mirroring, just says failure to connect, yet my husband who has the same phone connects every time!
Give details. Are you rooted? Using a custom ROM?
