Hi all
Is it possible to run the new firmware without upgrading the bootloader or does this require a non standard kernel?
TIA

Yes it may be, but use a custom rom stock
Like omega, wanam, etc..

Are S4 and S4 GE exactly the same hardware? Will it just be a question about flashing original ROM and then you have a 100% S4 GE?
I was going to ask the same. I have an international gt19505 and want to know if it will be possible to flash the new firmware via Odin. Any ideas when it will be released?

I'm subscribing to this one. Definitely interested. Although I'll probably end up with a ROM of a custom variety at the end of the day.
Initially It's only for the Qualcomm verison but by just changing the kernel and some modules it must work I think

it hasn't been released yet, no one knows... but chances are no, due to different modems

Does anyone know, is it possible to flash a Cm 11 type rom, after we have upgraded to the Samsung 4.4.2 firmware with the new bootloader?
Are we able to flash the currently available roms, or do we need to wait for them to make changes to the kernel etc
Many thanks in advance

Cannot flash CM roms currently due to them being based on MJ7 bootloader. Need to wait to see *if* they update for new bootloader.. but seems unlikely at the mo.

For the root, you will have to do it again. It's not a problem.
For Knox, make your own opinion
And read, read, read the topics

AFAIK, there are none. It is only that you have some Russian apps preinstalled on the system. You can remove them anyway.

Since we flash modems through ODIN, i would yes to flashing modems being unrooted, since we use ODIN to flash stuff whether rooted or not.

No you don't. You can flash modems regardless of your current rom, root status, or android version. Every phone acts differently so try all the modems and choose the modem that best suits your phone/area.
Thanks for the info!
