Since we flash modems through ODIN, i would yes to flashing modems being unrooted, since we use ODIN to flash stuff whether rooted or not.

No you don't. You can flash modems regardless of your current rom, root status, or android version. Every phone acts differently so try all the modems and choose the modem that best suits your phone/area.
Thanks for the info!

Does anyone have this? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thank you

It seems to only install via OTA update.
crawrj said:
There is some kind of write protection of security that locks the modem down. I have tried 100 different ways of installing the modem and can't. It looks like the official installs are the only ones that work. So right now the ota is the only way to get the modem. But I am sure we will get it figured out in time.

Hello,
Apologies if I didnt find it after searching but:
I was looking to get stock recovery back onto the S4. I know I can Odin back to stock but being that my phone is already set up it would be nice to just flash stock back and be happy
Thanks!

I'd you're wanting to remain rooted, then you will need a custom recovery.

I used to be on stock recovery rooted and was able to update ota while keeping root with ota rootkeeper... And stock recovery

Every rot method I've seen requires installing a custom recovery. Either twrp or cwm.

It's possible to extract the stock recovery from the Odin image and flash it independently. Check it out in this post. Be warned that it's only for AT&T S4's and it's possible to brick your device pretty badly if you flash the recovery to the wrong place.

yes, you will have to use the odin, and then root again. unless you're running a custom rom, then you will have to full wipe your device.
So, not TOO long ago I used the CyanogenMOD installer app to put CyanogenMOD on my Galaxy S4(Sprint).
I've searched all over the place, perhaps I'm just not looking in the right direction.. Now I'm turning to you guys.
While I like CyanogenMOD I really don't feel as if all of the features you give up with stock TouchWIZ is worth it.
I would love to be pointed in the direction on how to revert back to pure stock.
You flash a tw ROM. It really can't get any easier than that.

How do you do that if the phone isn't recognized by ODIN? I installed CM using their auto-installer and now Odin doesn't see it.
My phone wont boot now and I am trying to re-flash stock but I can't find anything but .tar files for ODIN.
Try reinstalling the drivers. There isn't suppose to be anything but tar files for Odin. Like there aren't suppose to be anything but zip files for recoveries.

Would I be able to do this in Clockwork Recovery? Flashing with ODIN always leaves me with a FAILED since I moved over to Cyanogenmod.

On Odin are you trying to use MF9 or MDL or MDC while it is failing. I think you are trying to Odin an4.2 tar when you were on 4.3 previously which is impossible.

Yes, I did OTA the 4.3 update, and yes I was trying to use a 4.2 ROM. If I'm understanding what you're trying to convey correctly.
Right now I'm downloading this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567353
I shouldn't have any issues in this scenario right? I'm on sprint if that matters at all.
Well there your problem lol. You will be fine flashing that ROM, but didnt you say you wanted to go back to complete stock as in no root? You would need to Odin the MK2 tar to archive that.

Yeah, it has the MK2 file in the posting, so I should be all set from there on out, right?
It only has a custom debloated ROM in that thread. To get the full stock unroooted MK2 you need the file from this thread.

Well you would think so but when I installed CM it changed my device number somehow, or how ever it is recognized in download mode and I can no longer use ODIN. Is there a way to get it back to being recognized?

I have tried that already, I managed after some work to get a rom to flash through the recovery but it still isn't recognized through ODIN when in download mode, it is seen when the ROM is active though.

how do i return to out of the box stock?
so i can have a clean slate to work on.
You search for how to Odin a stock image on your device. Hint: the general section has many posts on this.

Yes, but as an fyi, there is no direct root method for nb1. So if you're looking for root you might want to consider mk2

Then you're going to want this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49687770
Use saferoot to root. You can Google it
Edit, look in the general forum and read up on mk2 and nb1. You can get a rooted nb1 rom on your phone with safestrap. But do some homework before you decide doing it.
