Are S4 and S4 GE exactly the same hardware? Will it just be a question about flashing original ROM and then you have a 100% S4 GE?
I was going to ask the same. I have an international gt19505 and want to know if it will be possible to flash the new firmware via Odin. Any ideas when it will be released?

I'm subscribing to this one. Definitely interested. Although I'll probably end up with a ROM of a custom variety at the end of the day.
Initially It's only for the Qualcomm verison but by just changing the kernel and some modules it must work I think

it hasn't been released yet, no one knows... but chances are no, due to different modems

Hi,
I was wondering then if you could flash it on the international versione or not?

Can anyone provide me with a working N7105 modem? I flashed custom rom for N7100 and my modem got screwed (which was something I anticipated). Therefore can anyone provide me with a modem file for N7105? Much appreciated!!!

sadly a full N7105 rom is not available yet, only all the OTA patches can be found, and no full modem is located in those.

I did every XDA-worthy member would do. I nandroid backed the hell out of my rom. But after flashing back nandroid rom, signal is still elusive.
I have downloaded the stock rom and flashed it. Modem came back.
I figured out a way to extract the modem.bin from the stock rom. Therefore if I flash the custom rom for N7100 which bust my modem, I can flash the modem.bin from my N7105 stock rom to regain modem in my custom rom right? Wrong. something more than modem.bin is messing with the signals if one flashes an N7100 custom rom unto an N7105 rom.

I am not sure how to do it. But if u can download the full N7105 stock rom, u can extract the modem.bin from it.

i wanted to look at contents compared to the US/Asian LTE devices, and so far those firmwares look the same, so the freq change is in the chipset. but i checked the leak US firmware and that one also had cdma features so although similar it was featuring cdma instead of gsm.
like n7100 for different reqions got pretty much the same firmware with changes to brand and whatever smaller software change they make for that country.
point was if the frequency issue was software or hardware, and so far the n7105 europe firmware looks similar besides the fact a US firmware got cdma, and confirmed is that it is very different from n7100 radio firmware and should not be installed.
On sammobile tgey have it too ... just take a look ...

So what must be done to gain phone signals back if one installs a N7100 custom rom into a N7105? If the problem is with the chipset there is nothing much we can do about it right?

I'm guessing that some lib files are needed to work properly with the modem.

well, i assume all libril and libsec and those related to controlling LTE as well.
but since 7100 and 7105 are so different radio wise, there might be something else used to controll radio than what 7100 uses, which could be required in the roms for 7100, but maybe soon we will see roms for both devices at the same time.

I did the same mistake as you did.
Don't panic though.
I downloaded a stock N7105XXALIJ rom and flash it using PC odin.
Everything is back to normal.
Then I rooted it using this guide:

Everything is perfect so far.

This is not from broodrom and i wonder if it's safe to install it on my international gt-i9505, or will it brick?
And if I install it, will there be any different other than a new software? I mean, will I be able to flash all the roms that are flashable on the international one?

Probably best to wait, just in case. The i9505 and google edition could differ in partition layout so it may just fail or could brick. Im sure the devs will have an update ready soon.

So I've got 4.2 installed on my T-Mobile GS4.
It's been running great, no complaints.
I just received a notice that the system update to 4.3 has been downloaded and ready to install for Google Play Editions of the GS4 and I can reboot and install.
This is, I'm assuming, the pushed download to the Google Play phones. It caught me off guard, so I don't know if I should install it, cancel, or disable the auto-updates etc.
Whats the consensus on this?

seems like even though we don't have the GPE bootloaders, the device are able to be updated via OTA. We just don't know if it will flash correctly. gsmyth is correct, it's better safe than sorry
You're probably right.

Hey guys, if i am lucky I will hopefully soon be a happy galaxy s4 owner. However, this device shall be sent to me from Kuwait. Now my main question is, would that make my device have an exynos or a snapdragon CPU.
No need to get into details here a simple yes or no would be fine with the next question: battery life .. Is the snapdragon better?
Any notable differences?
Flashing to stock firmware of any sort possible just like during the sgs1 times? Or is it like ****ty old HTC? Thanks in advance

The I9505 seems to dominate the forum with devs developing for this more than the I9500. This may change but at the moment it seems that unless you are hardcore set on the Octacore CPU that has no noticeable difference when using the phone then the I9505 is the way to go...

Kuwait sells both versions, so it depends on which you purchased. Guess you will find out soon enough. I9505 has more dev support because it's based on the Krait/QC chip where the I9500 has Perseus, one of the greatest kernel devs on all XDA.

Meh, I didn't think about that =/. I guess you get no signals if modem/baseball aren't compatible. Is there a link to get our modem/baseband?
On the Note 3 N900w8 users got lucky, they could downgrade to JellyBean and back to Kitkat without issues, could root (on JB) without tripping KNOX and can pretty much flash ANY international ROM on their device (in this case the N9005 ROMs, N900T ROMs etc) -- IT is possible, now I use this term very very loosely that you *may* be able to flash a whole lot more than w8 only ROMs.
