Signs of Aging? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm considering different tablets and I'm wondering how well the nexus 10 is aging. How's the processor compare to more modern devices? Is it still smooth running KK ROMs? What can it be OCed to? Thanks for any input/advice you could give a potential buyer this late in the device's life cycle.
Sent from my Slim Nexus 5 with smoothness by Faux.

Hi,
I believe Nexus 10 is still not showing big signs of aging, I mean, the screen is still great, the processor still runs fine everything I need (games like Modern Combat 4, Ravensword Shadowlands, GTA SA [max graphics settings], Cytus and Deemo run perfectly fine with no lag at all!).
The only thing that most people complain and they are right is that due to the huge screen resolution Google allocated 1GB RAM to graphics, which makes it only 1GB RAM. And that means that some apps will close just after you exit them and open another (happens a lot with Chrome tabs too, when I'm with 7-8 tabs open, one or another will need to reload).
I don't know about others tablets yet, I didn't have the chance to check how they perform against Nexus 10. Just don't let benchmark scores scare you, just because one device performs 40k points that doesn't mean it is the best thing ever. Sometimes my Nexus 10 looked more fluid (specially when watching videos) than my S4, while my S4 performed 28-29k points, Nexus performed 24k.
Also there was a video comparing Nexus 10 to Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, due to crappy Samsung software Nexus opened apps faster and was more fluid. The screen had some differences too, Note colors looked more vivid, but that's more of a personal thing.
And for KitKat ROMs, as KK is official it's running perfectly fine. I'm on CM11 after formatting and it was the best thing I ever done to my device. It's blazing fast and does everything I need. And I have no ideas about OC, personally I never used as there was no need.
Just to finish now, Nexus 10 is on the end of Google's 18 month support policy, so if you want to get a Nexus I'd wait for next Nexus 10, as it will have again support. Personally I think that 18 month is now a ridiculous thing, as 2012 Nexis still run perfectly fine, and they can support easily a next update.

Any Gnote users also have Nexus 7

Hi
i would like to know some of your opinions if you have both the Galaxy Note and also a Nexus 7
i have had my note for almost a year now - generally all pretty good
but for some things i am thinking about the nexus 7
maybe for a bigger ebook reader - kindle / BBC news / Flipboard etc- i have a lot of books which would benefit perhaps on a bigger screen
Tegra 3 - one of the reasons why i would like the nexus 7 - some games can only be played on a tegra 3 device - i am not a really big game player but sometimes would like to play Horn, Dark meadow and the other tegra 3 only games which cannot be played on the Note
general web browsing / ocassional movie watching when out and about would be nice on a bigger screen
i live in europe so google voice is not available at this time - so i wont really use it for any phone calls - maybe skype but ocassionally
i am trying to establish how much of a use it will get in order to see if its worth to purchase it..
please share your useages and experiences with owning both
Actually I have both items, G Note and Nexus 7
I bought the Nexus 7 two months ago, and the Gx Note last week.
Since I bought the Note, I've never used again the Nexus 7 (I'm selling it)
I've downloaded some Tegra Only games and only tried them for a while and never played again.
The Nexus has a bit bigger screen than Note, it is more fast and the touch responsiveness is better, but I prefer to have a decent "All In One" device like the Note (with a good replaceable battery and micro SD slot whith tons of films in it) than having to carry with another device only for a "little more of screen"
I have both too. But I find the Note to be slightly better for everyday use. It's decent sized and runs games (that I play) perfectly fine. Screen is a bit small (as opposed to the 7) for web browsing, but that's something I can live with. On the other hand, the nexus 7 screen is right in the middle of the Note and a 10" tablet. For certain apps, if I run the phone version on the 7, the UI's too big (big buttons, big text); but if I run the tablet version of the app, texts are often too small to read on the 7 inch and some buttons are harder to press as they've been resized to fit the 7" screen. Sorry for my english but I think you get my point.
Now that we have jelly bean running on our exynos powered phones, the whole performance argument doesn't fly. Pretty sure the note outperforms anything with a tegra 3, despite having half as many cores. Exynos ftw!
Apple innovates and Samsung copies, huh? Tell that to my Galaxy Note.
I have the note and 2 nexus 7 had 2 more but sold them, the nexus is much faster (all are running paranoid android 2.5 ROMs if I were going to read , check emails , look up something on the internet it would be no question the nexus 7, if I wanted something small / more portable to check something quick then the note is better plus if need some to make phone calls without being linked to another device ie. Tablet talk then obviously the note is your choice, even though I don't use the note as a phone anymore I would never sell it

Hi There,
I have a Nexus 7 and a GN. The Nexus is lightning fast, and a real pleasure for games or as a e-reader. I use both devices every day, and I love both.
I use my Nexus for navigation in my car (with car mount). The GN sits in my console, connected to BT for calls.
The one thing I do find is that the Nexus connects to GPS faster, and the nav app (Waze) seems snappier.
Whilst I do love the Nexus 7, as it is an amazingly capable tablet for a very respectable price, there is very little point in any 7" tablet in my opinion so long as you own any of the newer Android devices that often employ a 4.5+ inch display and especially if you own a phone/tablet hybrid such as the Galaxy Note. In my personal opinion, a tablet should be around the 10" mark like the iPad. It is just a nice size for greater productivity, whilst still maintaining greater portability than a laptop.

Same here - have both and am pleased with both. Use the Nexus 7 more for movies and books.
thank you all for this feedback and opinions
a lot of good points have been made here regarding speed of the nexus, size and usages what you have
from what i have evaluated certain tasks are better suited on the nexus and other tasks are more geared towards the note..due to its size etc
lots of things to think about here....
I have Note and tried nexus. Just doesn't feel big enough and had other limitations that didn't help. My Note and Transformer prime work a lot better as a combo for me.

I have a Galaxy Note and a Nexus 7. Although its a nice device i hardly use my nexus 7 as my Note can do everything it can (except the tegra3 specific games) but theyre not really that good tbh. Nexus 7 with Jelly Bean was much smoother but i have since installed super nexus rom on my note and theyre pretty much the same now.
My Nexus is mostly a home device for me until I get my hands on the 3g version then i will bring it out and will be doing mostly my surfing and emails with it. My Gnote is mostly just phone calls and occasional quick surfing, whatsapp, Facebook, etc.
I reckon a tablet and phone have their own specific uses and each supplement the cons of the other. Everyone should have both!

First of all hi to all of you, I am new to the xda forums and a proud owner of a galaxy note which will soon get a custom rom .
I was also thinking about buying a Nexus 7 mainly for reading ebooks but I am unsure about the display quality - isn't the notes super amoled far superior?

I have both aswell and happy with both of them. One would expect the screen quality of Gnote to be better due to the super amoled tech it uses but in reality it have black clipping issues which make watching low quality videos a problem.

is the Galaxy Note S-Pen working on the Nexus 7 ??
if yes - how is the experience - same as the note or better /worse
I too have both. I love everything about the Note (previous phones were Nexus One followed by Nexus S) except what it's missing... the Nexus experience. The Nexus 7 reminded me what I'm missing. My wife inherited my Nexus S and I still envy her smooth clean experience with a phone that's 2 years old. She has JB with Google Now and all the goodies... I sit here with a beautiful 5.3" screen, and incredibly powerful hand held computer, but stuck on ICS. When will we get JB on the Note (Samsung is in no hurry. They want to sell new phones)? I considered rooting and installing a rom, but after following this forum since I purchased my Nexus One, I decided to stay stock. Too many problems.
After much thought I've decided to sell my Note and will pre-order the Nexus 4 as soon as it hits the Play Store. I will never buy a phone or tablet again without it being pure Google.

Blacks are a lot blacker with the note but I was surprised that the nexus looks much sharper and detailed. Maybe is my lame screen protector not sure.

How does it compare to Nexus 10 ?

Speed wise, how does it compare to Nexus 10 ?

I had a Nexus 10 and liked it a lot. I now have the Note 10.1 1014 Wifi (exynos) and it is a better tablet all the way around. Speed wise it feels much faster. The battery life is at least 50% better. The screen seems a bit better. It is smaller and lighter than the Nexus 10 also. Performance wise Snapdragon versus Exynos, the Exynos is slightly faster CPU wise and the Snapdragon is slightly faster GPU wise. The LTE snapdragon model is not officially available in the states yet. The camera is way better and the S pen is not just a gimmick. The New Note 10.1 is the most useful tablet day to day that I have owned and I have owned a ton of them.

+1 to everything he said. This tablet is way better than the current nexus 10. The nexus 10 never got to be properly optimized and felt much more sluggish and buggy. I can give many details if you want, but I bet you won't be disappointed with the upgrade.

I would like to know your opinion on the screens...as far as I know, nexus 10 came with a rgb subpixel arrangement, while Note came with a somehow strange rg bw arrangement. Supposedly one shouldn't be able to see the difference since the pixel density is so high, but I can and do see the tiny jagged dots, and it's not a very nice feeling though...that's why I wanna know how it compares to nexus 10. Thank you!

The screen is noticeably better on the note. The nexus has pale colors in comparison, and while in the note they might feel a little bit over emphasized and warm the screen is nicer to watch, specially at higher levels of brightness. Regarding definition and pixels... the note might appear sharper bit it's probably due to the colors and not for the density or anything similar. I bet you cannot tell the difference resolution/subpixel wise but the final feeling is that the note offers a far superior screen IMHO.
I have both and have had the Nexus 10 since April this year and I manually updated it to kitkat. My note 10.1 is running the latest mk1.
The Note is a lot more powerful on paper but the nexus10 is definitely more responsive. It really is samsungs touchwiz that's slowing down the note. However, the note destroys the nexus 10 on all benchmarks (if it matters anyway).
Screen sharpness I would say is the same. However, I prefer the colours on the note 10 as the nexus 10 feels underwhelming.
Both have stereo speakers and the nexus 10 has the edge because of its placement. But the note 10 isnt bad, it is actually loud I dont mind the speakers facing sideways.
I bought the note 10 because I need the stylus. I bring my note 10 to work everyday and use the stylus all the time. If I didnt need the stylus then I would be sticking with my nexus 10.

I agree with everything you said except with the responsiveness. I'm not saying you are wrong it laying, but in my experience, I almost have the same configuration right now that I had in the Nexus: Same launcher, same keyboard, same apps. I'm using it exactly the same way I used to use my Nexus, and I can tell you I've never had in my hands a tablet that responsive. It is far more responsive than my Note II as well. I tried the Nexus 10 with all the stick operating system except KitKat, Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android and Revolt. 4.3 helped but the Nexus had been never at the level of the Note. This is just my experience, and I've seen a lot of divergence I'm the comments of people so I cannot tell you exactly what makes the difference.
By the way, I forgot to mention I bought the Nexus 10 the first week it came out, so maybe they did a running change in the hardware that improved performance in more modern models.

Im comparing it stock vs stock. No 3rd party launchers.
For ME, the nexus 10 "feels" faster, smoother and more responsive. Even if I know that the note 10 has a lot more power. The nexus 10 has come a long way with updates, and google have mostly polished the experience (it still stutters occasionally, but not as much as my note 10). I just hope samsung will continue optimizing this tablet and polish things out.

One of the apps in which I feel the difference the most is Chrome. Apart from the launcher, Chrome has been always sluggish to me on the Nexus 10. It works flawlessly in the Note.
The apps open much faster on the Note as well. And it moves between apps faster.
I definitely find the Note superior to the Nexus and I'm not trying to open a discussion up. This is just my mileage in case somebody find it helpful. Your mileage can vary of course.

So I went to Bestbuy to try the table out.
I've left being very disappointed with its responsiveness. They had Exynos model runnings 4.3 android. The tablet was dead slow due to touchwiz.
Chrome was extremely slow opening new tabs and in navigation through web sites.
Samsung should really kill the touch wiz or produce Google Edition for every of its devices to run a stock android.

Are you sure it was completely updated? Mine doesn't perform as the ones on bestbuy. Have into account that's a display model.
Anyways, not trying to convince you. You can stick with the Nexus 10. I cannot be happier having gotten rid of it, but if it works fine for you, why would you replace it?
I find it strange people complain about the lag in the new Note. I have the Note 10.1 2014 edition LTE version with Snapdragon and Chrome browser flies with it. It is a lot smoother than my old Note 10.1 ever was when browsing the web. I haven't encountered much lag elsewhere either. The home screen transitions were not silky smooth before I removed the widgets that were on the homescreens by default, but after that I really have no complaints there either.
Also the Note specific features are really well made this time in my opinion. Especially the new clipboard app is excellent with the pen (very quick to just cut and paste stuff with the pen while browsing the web or reading pdf magazines etc).

I think it's the best tablet out there by a long far, and in fact, the only one that has satisfied me since the very first moment. Thus, I cannot agree more with you.
The nexus 10 took more than six months to solve the problem with the GPU driver. The little flaws in this thing have been solved within weeks.

I don't know. I didn't try to update it via Check updates.
Maybe it was bloated with apps, 'cause still it's a demo version. But it was slow.
I had a lot of Samsung phones, Galaxy S2, S3, S4, S4 GE. I know the difference between Android with touchwiz and without it.
I hoped that a faster CPU can run touchwiz smoother, but there is no magic. Nexus 10 on latest 4.4 runs smoother.
Maybe I should try Snapdragon 800 version. Nexus 5 is uber fast on it.

The Nexus 5 is pushing far fewer pixels and bare bones Android so it should be uber fast. Anything running AOSP should be super fast. Again I had the Nexus 10 and now have the Exynos version of the Note 2014. I got rid of the Nexus 10 the week before I bought the Note. The Note blows the Nexus 10 out of the water even with the bloat of Touchwiz. The most important difference though is the battery life. The Note has almost double the battery life of the Nexus 10 with my usage. I do use the Note a lot more than the Nexus just because of the S pen for work. I would not trust a demo unit in a store and there are many reviews on the web for the Note 2014.

[q] should i buy nexus 7

OK so I know I probably came to the wrong thread, but my question is aimed specifically at people who use the nexus 5 and also own a nexus 7. Is the screen that much of a difference? Is it worth being a companion to my pretty big nexus 5 or should I not waste my dinero and buy a mid range tab for a bigger contrast in screen size? I was thinking lg g pad cause of the processor upgrade from the nexus 7, screen size, and storage expansion. but it is early 2014 not sure if I should wait for this years tablets to come out and make a decision.
most people here are using the original nexus 7 from 2012,you can buy one of those for around $90 on craigslist or around 110 on ebay.
i dont have a nexus 5 but i own a droid dna and the nexus 5 has a slightly bigger screen but honestly,a 7 inch tablet is way better for reading or just laying down and watching a movie compared to most phones, even the bigger ones.
if i were you ,id get the newer nexus 7 tho ,its slimmer and has better specs, but the original can be bought cheap and it will still handle pretty much anything as the specs are not too outdated yet,
N7 is awesome. Its the perfect size and imo the best bang for your buck device

Can we help you with Buying your Undies too.
I have a Note 2 phone with 5.5 inch screen. The 7 inch screen is so much better then even this monster phone.I also have a note 10.1.. I love the screen size on it.But it does not fit in my purse.
I would say yes its worth it ..But you gotta ask yourself some questions. How much money you are willing to spend. Do you need it NOW. How much storage space do you need. Do you need a network radio in it .
After you come up with the above answers if . question one is you have plenty of money and question 2 is you DO NOT have to have it this day. Wait and get the next greatest thing. a
Well you can figure the rest out.
I can tell you its a awesome device.. GET 32 GB Version. You will be glad you did.
Good Luck
They're exactly the same interface and software wise, except some apps are displayed in tablet mode, which is usually better but sometimes worse. Another difference is also that in landscape, the virtual buttons are portrait on the right on Nexus 5 and on Nexus 7 they are landscape on the bottom, wasting precious screen height. These virtual buttons are the only thing I hate about the Nexus 7, after removing them with apps in the Store, you gain a lot of screen space. However, Nexus 5 is 16:9, while Nexus 7 is 16:10, so the visible screen is more or less the same in the end.
I mostly use it in portrait mode because of that.
As I said, that is the only thing that bugs me about it. Otherwise, it's a great little tablet, great size for watching movies, series on the go (or in bed), it should play all games available in the Store and do all other unproductive things you can do on a tablet.
I had a 2011 Xperia Arc S before, and with it's single core CPU it quickly failed to play latest games, that's why I resorted to the Nexus 7.
Nexus 5, however, is newer, has the latest hardware and is capable of playing anything you throw at it, so getting a Nexus 7 is really only for extra screen size, but it does pay off. Maybe diagonal isn't the best measure, try screen area:
Nexus 5: 69 cm^2
Nexus 7: 142 cm^2
So the screen is actually double the size of the Nexus 5, and it's noticeably bigger when watching videos.
If you're going to mostly use it to watch videos, get the N7, if you're primarily going to surf the internet and read documents and such, I'd recommend you to check out the 8" tablets LG Pad 8.3 and Samsung 8" (tab or note), both come with buttons on the side and therefore have more vertical pixels (both 16:10).
Then there's also 2013 Nexus 7, with latest chip and 16:10 fullHD but it's quite pricier then its 2012 brother.
Why would you need a tablet for anyway? If you want it because it's popular, then forget about it. If you have other reasons, write them down, it's easier to recommend that way.
I would highly recommend the original Nexus 7 (as long as you don't need HDMI out) ts still a great tablet and works well and you can get it for a great price. I would highly recommend you DON'T get the 2013 it has known defects with the screen (do some research).

I own both, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2012). Have to say that N5 screen is awesome, but still N7 screen is nice and totally usable and it's so cheap, that you can later easily change to some other device if you want.
One good thing is that, the Nexus 7 is still supported by Google so you get official updates at least some time. When Google drop support, then you can always use custom roms.
Personally I buy only Nexus devices, because they get always best support from Google and maybe best community support.
Is there any noticeable lag if using the stock 4.4.2 ? For example newer games etc

I don't play much games, but on normal usage stock 4.4.2 is working smoothly without any noticeable lag. And yes, you can't compare speed to N5, but old N7 is not bad at all if we compare example to N4.
Do you have some free example game(s) what you mean? I can test and let you know is it working smoothly or not... Maybe this info is useful to @BNNEBULA too.

Has everyone given up on the N10?

There is hardly any activity in any of the N10 threads. Has this device been abandoned by most?
Most Lively it does seem to be the case. Well the tablet suffers also of some jitters.
At the moment all games run perfectly but I can sense a lack of power with the exynos chip. So I assume ppl have migrate to something better
That's a shame. This tablet can hang with most of new ones still
I haven't given up. Its depressing to come here all the time and not see anything "new" though.
I've been eyeing that Yoga Pro Tablet 2 as a replacement for my aging N10.
The N9 is just such a POS!
I've had mine since launch and its still going strong. I have no immediate plans to replace it.
I'm waiting until next year before upgrading that would give me 3 years with my N10. I want a 64bit processor, 3 or more GB of ram, at least the N10's screen resolution/size with AMOLED technology. It would be nice to also have a built in mSD reader. I believe that is not out of the realm of possibility.
I spent extended time with a Samsung TabS 10.5 this last fall and definitely drank a large gulp of the AMOLED coolaide. Just looking at that screen technology in a store did not do it justice but seeing it under various light condition made me a believer that backlit technologies are dead.

Same here. Running better than ever with 5.0.
My Nexus 10 is running better than ever with Dirty Unicorns 9.1 (Android 5.0.2).

Was the Nexus 10 that popular when it came out? I remember all the hype was for the Nexus 7. I'm fairly new to the Nexus 10 so I don't know how it was around this forum back then.

Probably not as popular as the N7. IMO, partially because Nvidia/Qualcomm hype, partially because 7'' screen, partially because N7 had 2 editions, 2012 and 2013 (that even had cellular connectivity), so it's only natural.
What I do know is that I'm still using my N10 daily. Still running KK, Xposed and TabletKat cos of that POS unified phablet UI.
No idea why but this device was never a commercial success. What is true is that the resolution was a bit ahead of the technology resulting in some jitters when scrolling pages but that apart everything run nicely and smoothly so do games

Google never was able to provide a nice user experience on a 10" screen.

How does the M3 compare to Nexus 7 FHD?

I have my trusty 2013 Nexus 7 FHD which is showing its age already big time. The thing is really slow and beat up.
My primary use is to load mkvs and download offline Netflix / Amazon movies to watch when I travel.
Nexus 7 users, how would you say the M3 stacks up against the N7? I am ok with root only and Nova launcher, don't care about custom ROMs
As a former owner of Nexus 7 2013 will say.
1) Size: Huawei it's a bit bigger, heavier, but thinner. Huawei wins.
2) OS: Nexus 7 gives much more freedom in installing whatever you want, where Huawei reduces your choice to EMUI only. It's not bad, I like this system, but Nexus is a winner here.
3) Performance: Snapdragon S4 Pro (or Snapdragon 600) in Nexus 7 is old now and doesn't give good performance. Kirin 950 is not the best CPU too, but it's faster any way. The question left it's GPU. Qualcomm's variant is better for games, has better capability with 3D, but in Nexus 7 it's old enough, so you won't play modern games on it. Neither you will on Mediapad. Huawei wins, but as for GPU I think it's a draw.
4) Memory: Nexus 7 has non extendable 32GB, Huawei has 64 + MicroSD. Huawei wins.
5) Sound: both devices have good sound, Huawei is louder and it's sound it's sharper, Nexus's sound is warmer and lampier. Draw.
6) Screen: FullHD on nexus 7 (okay, not full, a bit bigger), 7 inches. Huawei has QuadHD and 8.6 inches. Also I like Huawei's colors more than Nexus's. Huawei wins.
7) Cameras: both devices have sh...tty cameras. Draw.
So, you see, comparing this two devices is much like comparing an old notebook to the new one. The new one will win because it's new, but if you don't need all this new and in-trend stuff of new devices, you can pass by and stay on your current.
What about 2 GB of RAM vs 4 GB of RAM? SD 600 is a very old SoC and the GPU cannot be that bad compared to a GPU from 2013. I have a G Pad 8.3, it has the same Soc. I installed Nougat on it (AOSP) and I can already tell that the GPU is a little overwhelmed by the new games. It used to be ok on MarshMallow.
Thanks for your comments. It is so difficult to find a good replacement for the Nexus 7 2013, really sucks. Maybe an iPad 4 mini is in order
As long as I delete the cache now and then, the Nexus 7 remains perfectly usable. Only found browsing became a bit of a slug on it after Marshmallow, but UC browser seems to be the least demanding browser for me. Ran Puffin Browser before, but they changed the interface in the new version and was not to my liking.
Every Time I think about moving on, I ask myself what can't the Nexus 7 do anymore that a 2017 tablet in this range can. Newer games are probably its biggest challenge, but that's not an issue for me. BS player and Kodi continue to play everything I throw at it. The Meenova mini micro sd card expansion dongle stores media on 3 128gb cards I have sitting around and also works well streaming from a Seagate 2TB wireless drive, so storage isn't a problem. The LTE version I have works with project-fi which splits the load with my Nexus 6P so I don't drain the battery on my phone throughout the day. Battery life is around 80% of its original (accubattery), so that's not really a problem, so I've got nothing to complain about except the itch to upgrade to newer hardware. The m3 was at the top of my list when it first game out, but i decided it would have been an impulse buy that didn't really justify the cost at that point. In May, Lenovo is releasing its new 8 inch tab pro tablet. I'm going to wait to see what the reviews are like on that. Besides, if I've continued to wait this long, the rumor of a huawei M4 will probably be going about by the time I actually get around to making a decision.
For me, the Nexus 7 2013 remains to be a trustworthy companion, so its hard to just move on. Doesn't have the latest specs, but its functional for my needs and like I said if you clear the cache out within recovery mode, the performance is greatly improved.

Good points all around. Actually my only gripe is the lack of storage.
As mentioned I don't browse or play games, just use the tablet for movies.
I guess I will get a micro usb flash drive and use that as an extended memory when needed.
Reviving an old thread to ask for more opinions on whether the Huawei M3 is a worthwhile upgrade to the 2013 Nexus 7. I like the form factor of 7-8" tablets with widescreen.
I do not play many games on it, mostly web browsing and video from youtube or amazon instant video. The Huawei speakers are supposed to be louder and with better quality sound. Some of the reviews on amazon suggested it is a good upgrade for N7 owners. Also interested in sd card support and putting music library on it in. My N7 only has 16 gb internal storage, obviously less than that user available.
Also, I don't care about custom roms.
I bought a Mediapad M3, WiFi only. I like it quite a lot. I did not own a Nexus 7, but I had a G Pad 8.3 that I passed along in the family to replace a dead tablet. I do not regret buying it. I am not even mentioning that Nougat update will come and can be installed even now, although it does not appear to be final.
I replaced my Nexus 7 2013 with a Mediapad M3. I felt like I was holding out forever for a new Nexus tablet.
The M3 is less comfortable to hold and feels more fragile. I guess the screen is better but I can't really tell. I have a European version of the M3 but still it doesn't seem to want to connect to 5GHz, and I'm still running EMUI4.1. Seems to have better battery time, especially when watching x265 encoded videos. Speakers are a lot better, with the N7 I would use earplugs or a BT speaker but there's no need for that on the M3.
I'm fairly happy with it, overall. There is not a lot of options out there
Put some good headphones on the M3, you will be surprised how well it sounds. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 202 II and they absolutely rock with the M3. I bought a second pair with sound controls for the G4 and the old G Pad 8.3, but it does not sound half as well as Sennheiser. I know Sennheiser HD 202 II are not that fancy, but they still are a little better than the average headset.
