MTP Connection on Windows 8.1 64bit - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to connect my G2 with Dell Windows 8.1 64bit laptop. The connection is made (MTP) but it doesn't last (just some minutes). I tried again with my Nexus 10 and the problem is same.
Could anybody give any solution? Thanks.

Help on connect to Windows 7

Just got a new HTC HD2 today and I got a problem of synchronization between the HD2 and the PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. I've tried so many times but couldn't work. Please help me to solve this problem!
Hi, how far did you get? Are you trying to connect via Windows Mobile Device Centre? Are you failing to sync using a cable, via Bluetooth or both? Are you using 32bit or 64bit Windows?

Lost USB connectivity after manual 2.3.4 installed...PLEASE HELP!!!

Update: I did a factor reset and that still didn't work. This really sucks...PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I recently installed Android 2.3.4 manually to my Nexus S (I9020T). Now I can no longer get USB connection to my computer. It charges fine, just no USB. I've manually installed multiple times and this is the first time I've had a problem. I searched through the forums and no one else seems to be having this issue. Without USB connection I can't even reinstart the ROM and all my files and pics are trapped on the phone...PLEASE HELP!!!
If you're using Windows 7 x64, you'll need to install 64bit drivers (if you haven't already).

My notebook at home is Windows 7 64 bit, my work PC is Windows XP. I was able to mount the USB on both of them before this update. Where would I get drivers for this update that would make it work on both computers?

ii JUST got this usb cord, so its not broken or anything
i also hard reseted my phone a while back if that helps
thanks in advance
What OS are you running on your HD2?
Windows Mobile 6.5 requires Active Sync to be installed on your machine and should prompt you to do so the first time you connect via USB.
Android should be effortless by just selecting the USB connectivity from the drop down alert menu.
WP7 requires that you have installed the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Center, which can be found by online search. You must download the appropriate x86 or x64 version, as is appropriate to your version of Win7.
Is there a scenario that I've missed?
Thank you for posting!!
my phone runs on windows 6.5.
do i download activesync to my phone or computer? i tried doing it on my computer but it gives me an error :
" This Program is blocked due to compatibility issues"
"previous versions of Active sync cannot be installed on windows vista or later."
i was trying to download Activesync 4.5

Windows 8 not recognizing Nexus 7

Hello,
several days ago, I installed Windows 8 64bit on my laptop. The problem is, that Windows does not recognize that Android device was connected. If I connect Nexus 7 (or HTC Vision Z, which I have too), nothing happens. Both devices have developer mode on. Neither of them recognizes that they are connected to PC (they don't offer me the connection mode mtp/ptp or mass storage).
Windows update is done, there are no new updates.
I've tried installing PDAnet_Drivers_64bit.exe, without luck. Yes, I've tried RAW drivers from WugFresh, but I can't install drivers for device, that is not present in Windows Device Manager (or can I? How?).
Laptop is Dell Latitude E6410.
Nexus 7 is running stock Android (4.2.2).
HTC Vision Z is running CyanogenMod 7.2 (I'm mentioning it just for complete picture of mine situation, I need to get Nexus working).
Thank you for your time, attention and hopefully help.
I am running x64 Win8 at home, and I just went to Asus's site to install their N7 USB drivers, right-clicked on the .exe file and selected "Run as Administrator", and they installed fine.
I do not run adb/fastboot/Android SDK on my Win8 machine, I do all that work with my Win7 laptop.
Thank you, I will try it when I get to PC again.
