Currently I'm running Beans ROM. Any chance we'll get CM11 for the Note 3 VZW non developer edition?
I don't care about tripping Knox, so if there's a way to do it that involves tripping Knox I don't care I'll do it.
i dont think so..without bootloader unlocked.
It's all about the kernel. We can't flash stock aosp kernels so we are stuck with touch wiz roms. Unless we get an unlocked boot loader.

I am still on old bootloader which gives me flexibility to flash most roms including GPE.
I'm wondering, if I upgrade to new bootloader with knox and 4.4.2 kitkat. Will I still be able to flash Google Play Edition roms or any other CM11 or nightlies rom?? Thanks for your reply in advance.
As i understand it, you'll be able to flash these ROMs, but you WILL trip the knox switch, and you will have to use a custom kernel.

Really? I don't mind about tripping Knox anymore. As my phone wasn't far from warranty over. Are you sure ?
hi guys have an s4 in the uk im bored of stock touchwiz an want to install a custom rom. can i do this even tho its locked to 3? or do i have to unlock 1st? or does it not matter cheers guys?
Yes you can, you can change officially via Odin or install custom recovery and flash whatever rom you desire. I got my S4 back last year on o2 then flashed the BTU (unbranded UK version straight away) and now run the Google Edition rom. However I am on the bootloader and can flash whatever I wish without tripping KNOX but only via CWM.
What current firmware are you on?
im on three locked. firmware is the new 4.3 software.
so do i just root an flash cwm and im ok or?
Be aware as you have a KNOX bootloader installing recovery will trip this and you can't reverse it.

so what does this mean?
KNOX when tripped can cause issues with warranty. Now as we live in the UK we have warranty covered for 2 years by the EU. But it's like a warranty flag they could use that against you and not fix any issues, it will also disable KNOX which is a security feature but more for commercial rather than personal and it you will not be able to downgrade your firmware.

hmm so basically if i do this put a custom rom on then decide against it and want to go back to my stock rom or any other rom i wont be able to?
You'll be able to go back to whatever stock rom you were originally on or higher. I suggest looking in the android development section for the pre rooted roms, I think there are ways to flash a custom rooted rom without recovery without tripping the knox flag.

ahh so its better if i just flash a pre rooted rom then?
so u think its better if i dont flash any recoverys but then how do i flash the rom over odin or?
I am buying a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on Monday. I know it will come with a KNOX-enabled bootloader. My question is, I know flashing a custom ROM onto the device will void the KNOX warranty. But will I be able to switch from Touchwiz stock rooted to… lets say, CM11? If so, would downgrading CM11 to CM10 require an older bootloader (pre-KNOX)? Will custom recoveries such as PhilZ work with the latest bootloader?
Sprint bootloaders are not locked like ATT and Verizon. And Knox doesn't affect the installation of any custom Roms.

I have been searching the forum for hours now, but could not find a definite answer. Please help.
First question: Is it possible to install Samsung I9505 MIUI ROM on I337 ?
Second question: If possible, can someone direct me to a tutorial?
I am asking this about Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 ( USA AT&T version) on 4.4.2
I would bet it is NOT possible for your i337. You say your on 4.4.2, so the only recovery available for your device is Safestrap. Since your bootloader is locked you CANNOT flash custom kernels. To run AOSP/CM/ and most likely MIUI required a different kernel than stock kernel. Safestrap on your device can ONLY run Touchwiz based Roms due to needing a stock kernel.
If you had the Original firmware like MDB or MDL and used Loki bootloader bypass you can run AOSP/CM based Roms and more than likely MIUI as well. With the Loki bypass those on MDB or MDL CAN FLASH custom kernels.

Thank you for the response. Then my new question: is there a version of MIUI that uses stock kernel? I remember reading that some people installed MIUI on bootloader locked galaxy s4 with Safetrap.
I haven't seen a MIUI thread at all. Sorry I could not be of any help with that. How old is the thread you saw? Point it out and I can take a look. Phones with MDB or MDL may have been able to since they use regular TWRP/CWM for recovery, but never seen one for Safestrap.

I just rooted my OC3 ATT galaxy s4. How the hell do I get custom roms on this thing? Is there a way to downgrade to KK and use those? I'm not new to samsung devices but I am new to the devices with KNOX.

You can downgrade to kk and use safestrap for custom roms. Refer to this forum for instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2926642
