Hello everyone,
I have in my hands a Note 3 which is SIM Locked...
I have tried EVERYTHING...
I have tried to flash it with the Greek 4.2.2 firmware (via Odin) and it fails.
I have installed X-Note and Omega but the problem remains.
CF Region away doesnt work.
The SIM Lock will never vanish...
What else can I do?
I am on 4.2.2.
Bump
You can try Regionlockaway, sometimes it works on Sim locks but not always. failing that, you'll have to buy an unlock code and manually do it.

I'm running Golden eye rom. And my baseband is I9505DXUAMDM. The problem is, i'm having trouble with the network. When the phone gets idle, then i use it, it has no network and takes while to have it back in. Idk but when i bought this phone, it was only locked by Globe(sim) which i was using globe as well. So i believe it doesnt have anything to do with that carrier locked thingy. TIA.

I am using the MJ5 modem on most of the 4.3 and kitkat roms and I am not having any network drops.
Since the 4.3 update, old modems are getting network drops. So you need to update your baseband. Try MJ5.
Btw I'm locked to Globe as well.

Flash this via odin and this should fix your dropping issue and make sure to choose the right one. or go here and choose the modem you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
f you are having the old bootloader XXUB flash http://www.mediafire.com/download/48r0rgqv25s8968/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar file with odin by selecting phone.
If you are having the new bootloader XXUD flash http://www.mediafire.com/download/zriv6i5c01lqns6/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUMFK.rar file with odin by selecting phone.

Yep just download the MKE and MJ5 earlier on that thread.
So, just flash it then? No need to reinstall everything?

Hey guys,
I've got some serious problem with my Galaxy S4 (i9505). It worked nice for more than 3 months but from yesterday I can't connect to any mobile site (Vodafone, T-mobile, O2). I've tried a lot of SIM cards and they didnt work (and they all work on Nexus S). It only asks me for my PIN and then it does nothing.
I have wiped my ROM, tried other ROMs, flashed original stock ROM via Odin, flashed another baseband but it didn't help.
I'm really unhappy because I love this phone.
Do you have any ideas what to do?
Thanks!

Tried all 4 modes. APN is set by my mobile operator.
In the city I have very bad signal (only about 30% of time I can make calls or send SMS) but outside the city I don't have any signal all time.
Did u ever solve this problem
No, it was sadly HW fault.

You can flash UK Lollipop firmware if is unlocked. They use the same Bands for 4G:
- Australia -> 4G LTE Optus 1800/2300Mhz.
- UK -> 4G LTE 800/1800Mhz/2600Mhz/3500/3600Mhz.

Your first mistake was in getting (apparently) a Frankenphone. Your second mistake was in trying to change the CSC. The Sprint device only has one CSC, unlike the I9500 and I9505, which have several.
From your description, attempting to change the CSC may have restored the device's "golden backup" (i.e. the original radio settings), and in doing so also reset the SIM lock. To blow away the SIM lock, downgrade to Android 4.2.2 and run RegionLock Away. Then start doing some research into converting the device from Sprint to GSM. And next time, hopefully you'll steer far away from Frankenphones.
Hi guys
I have run into little problem that I'm hoping learned members here can help me with.
I have a Note 3 SM-9005 that was running Kitkat 4.4.2 and I got it updated to 5.0 from a mobile repair guy. Everything looked smooth until I got home and noticed that now the WiFi does not work anymore. It always stays greyed out and never turns on.
I have tried turning on download booster, smartswitch, nothing helps. I have wiped cache, wipe data / factory reset but that's of no help.
Can you please help me get my WiFi working again.
Many thanks.
Cheers

Would it be compatible with my phone which has a UAE version installed currently?
Ok just checked. It looks to be the Phillipines/Singapore/Malaysia/Thailand version. With some of them branded. Not sure which one I should be picking up?
The stock ROM may be slightly different for each country but you can try the latest Singapore version.

Will it trip Knox? As I would be putting a SIN firmware on a XSI (UAE) handset?
Flashing a stock rom will not trip Knox.
Personally, unless there is warranty left on the phone, I wouldn't worry about tripping the Knox counter.

Thanks for your reply.
I have also just noticed that the WiFi hotspot (tethering) doesn't work either.
I downloaded the latest XSI (UAE) firmware and installed it using Odin. But the problem still persists.
Should I try downloading and installing a Singapore firmware?
Is there a possibility that this phone is actually a carrier branded phone and was later debranded and that's why it's having this problem?
Please help life is difficult without Wifi
Does Bluetooth work? It's possible that the phone has a defective wifi chip. I have two galaxy s4 phones that have dead wifi chips but everything else works.
You can try flashinga another country's firmware but not sure if that will help.
Do you have a backup of the efs folder?

Yes the bluetooth works.
The phone's WiFi was working fine before being updated to Lollipop.
No I got it updated from a phone repair guy before I got my hands dirty and put the new firmware my self. So no efs folder backup, unfortunately.
Hmm without knowing what the repair person did to the phone or how the update was performed, it's possible something went wrong during the flash process. Does the phone show the correct imei and MAC address?

He did it in front of me and from memory I can tell that he took a firmware file and used a software (probably Odin) to flash it in download mode.
The phone does show the correct IMEI as written under the battery spot and in device info does show a WiFi mac addresd however I'm unsure how to verify if that may be the correct one.
I have browsed Google and found few other people's posts on different forums who have this exact same problem. Someone suggested that I should reflash the firmware with bootloader checked using Odin.
Do you think it may be of help?
I have just discovered that the serial number on the back of the phone under battery is different from what is reported by the device.
Does this give any hint to what may be the issue?
