Good modem for Philippines(Globe) - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running Golden eye rom. And my baseband is I9505DXUAMDM. The problem is, i'm having trouble with the network. When the phone gets idle, then i use it, it has no network and takes while to have it back in. Idk but when i bought this phone, it was only locked by Globe(sim) which i was using globe as well. So i believe it doesnt have anything to do with that carrier locked thingy. TIA.

I am using the MJ5 modem on most of the 4.3 and kitkat roms and I am not having any network drops.
Since the 4.3 update, old modems are getting network drops. So you need to update your baseband. Try MJ5.
Btw I'm locked to Globe as well.

Flash this via odin and this should fix your dropping issue and make sure to choose the right one. or go here and choose the modem you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
f you are having the old bootloader XXUB flash http://www.mediafire.com/download/48r0rgqv25s8968/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar file with odin by selecting phone.
If you are having the new bootloader XXUD flash http://www.mediafire.com/download/zriv6i5c01lqns6/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUMFK.rar file with odin by selecting phone.

Yep just download the MKE and MJ5 earlier on that thread.
So, just flash it then? No need to reinstall everything?

it s software bug.
i don't know if it s available for ur rom or no but if u don't wanna change ur rom
u should search for radio package/modem of ur rom and install it through recovery.
ur any moded of that package (maybe u can find sth in dev. section)
but better choice is to completely back to stock and flash completely stock rom
after u can realize if it s hardware problem or software bug.

Im guessing your from hongkong,(But you can check it from here ) then if you really want to flash a latest 4.3 stock rom then feel free to download and flash this via odin. Remember 4.3 stock rom will give you a Newbootloader. and you can no longer downgrade to your old one. and there's a chance you might void your warranty if you rooted/ or flash any custom rom on your phone..
I did tried to flash modem and stock firmware with odin but still have the same problem sometimes i can make call but most of time its showing no signal or not registered on network.

Help! No network after flashing gpe!

So, first of all -- I get it, I'm a noob. But everyone's gotta start somewhere, and so did you.
Moving on, I had a stock Galaxy S4 i9505 on 4.2.2, locked to Portugal's Vodafone (I now understand this is probably what caused my issues).
I wiped data, cache, and flashed the Google Play Edition ROM. When the phone booted, I had no network, even after inserting the PIN number and going through the setup process. So I went to the Network Carrier selector in the Settings (Settings More - Mobile Networks - Network Operators) and selected Vodafone from the menu.
Then I got network. For 2 minutes. Then no network again, until I repeated. So this was driving me nuts, and I Googled what to do, and found out I could use an app called "Network" to try and switch from WCDMA to CDMA. So I downloaded that app, changed my network (to something - I don't know what since I can't open the app, as it crashes every time), and I'm still with the same issue.
Flashed back stock image and restored nandroid backup - nothing helped. Any solutions?
TL;DR: GS4 Locked to Vodafone -- Flashed GPe ROM -- No Network -- Flashed Stock -- Still no network
EDIT: I actually didn't quite flash back to where I was before, so I can't get my Nandroid backup to work (bootloop); I was on 4.2.2 stock, ended up flashing 4.3 stock since I couldn't find a 4.2.2, so my backup doesn't work.
Bump! Please someone help out, it's not my phone, it's my dad's, and I really have to get it to work really fast, he needs it for work.

[Q] Signal lost after screen goes dark

I installed CM 12.1 with gapps on my S4, problem is when my screen goes dark(when pressing power button once or automaticly after 5mins) my signal is gone. When rebooting phone the signal is back or if I quicly do airplane mode on and then off again the signal is also back. So basicly I only have signal when the screen is on and not turned off at any point.
Tried flashing another rom but had same problem, any idea's what it could be?

firmware updated (SM-N920C) N920CXXU1AOH6 Android 5.1.1

Download N920CXXU1AOH6 Android 5.1.1 for Update Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920C) SM-N920C. N920CXXU1AOH6 Android 5.1.1 released for XFUN/a
http://best-tech-reviews.com/update-galaxy-note-5-sm-n920c-n920cxxu1aoh6-android-5-1-1-8090/
I downloaded a newer version yesterday: N920CXXU1AOI1 (Thailand).
Don't see much changes, though there's a new app called 'Prime Time' but haven't tested it yet.
Will this work for the dual sim version?

No you won't lose user data when flashing via Odin. I've done it already many times and hardly ever lost data (only when the tar.md5 file you flash has another tar-file inside it, so i heard). I flashed the AOI1 over the AOH6 and my data was still there.
but always better to back up before proceding: Titanium, Nandroid backup, etc. when you have root, if you don't I think you can use Smart Switch on PC to make a back up.

That's very useful info, thanks. I kept reading that flashing a ROM via Odin inevitably would wipe your device. But when I flashed an official stock ROM, this didn't happen.
Well yes i downloaded firmwares from Sammobiles and no need to wipe.
But how come these don't come with BL and CSC files?

They do come with CSC-files but I believe those are in the 'hidden.img'.
Don't know about the bootloader though.
Usually the data gets wiped, in my experience anyway, is when you go to a new version (e.g. Kit Kat to Lolliop) when flashing the firmware through Odin.
I have 929CD dual with N920CXXU1AOH3 installed: worths to upgrade to N920CXXU1AOH6?
