Where can I find a replacement power button? The actual plastic that goes on the outside?

usualy i am good with physical problems like this but i am now forced to make my own thread because i have no idea why my device wont power on.
after opening my blackstone/touch hd to tighten my screws, my power button has stopped working.
(fyi, a screw came loose a while ago near my sim card after dropping my devive so i thought id tighten all my screws while i had my screwdrivers out fixing my cousins phone)
however, without having the plastic power button attatched to the device, i am able to press the actual button with my stylus and make contact with the main button on the motherboard, the device will now power on.
(eliminating that the actual button to power on is broken)
but, when i attatch the plastic button and press it to power on the device, it doesnt make contact with the actual button inside on the motherboard.
(not making contact with the button on the motherboard)
i have examined the plastic button, all is intact and i am assembling it to the device correctly.
i have examined the actual power button on the motherboard and that is working perfect.
what the hell is going on?
thanks

ps, i need my power button
cba putting my stylus in and taking it out whenever my backlight goes off
* if you want a picture of my plastic button, i will dissasemble my device and take a picture.

For all you Repair guys,
How do you re-assemble the volume up down key without damaging the buttons on the flex board.
Do you attach the back housing then insert the volume key?
Or it has to be done with both back housing and volume key at time of assembly?
hints tips please
In for an answer
This is driving me crazy as well! Has anyone figured it out? I get it in there and som, etimes volume up will work, but not volume down. The official HTC video doesn't show how to do it exactly. It does show the volume key being in there when they put the chassis back in the plastic shell part though.
I just repaired another hd2 I installed both the volume key and housing at same time and worked, It didn't distroy the tiny buttons on flex this time.
JUst go slow and do not force it
use some tape to hold the volume button in the housing while you install the chassis / screen into it.
Vol keys button installs just before u put backside, put button and align, then CAREFULLY put backside and snap on.find best angle that buttton holds himself in normal position then snap....

My son broke my LCD, so I took the device appart to replace it, but realized they sent me the wrong one. I put it back together with the damaged LCD, but now my red power button isn't working, and there is now a thin red verticle line aligned directly above the red button (slightly off center of the button to the right).
Is the red line a coincidence, or is it an indicator that my button is damaged?
Do I need to get myself a new keypad ribbon?
Wow guys, talk about cheap hardware.
My volume up key is sunken down in so far that I can't press it. Volume down worked, until I just pressed it down again and the whole button is subsurface. Yay.
Here's a photo with the volume up side stuck below.
I'll try to pop it out with a screwdriver.
Update:
I removed the rear case all the way, then pushed the buttons into the case, using duct tape to keep them from falling out. Then I snapped the case back on.
Here are photos. One shows the buttons, and the other is of the tablet internals, in case anyone wanted to see...
