Hey all, I'm new to the forums but I can't wait to get my 8125 working. I bought a replacement screen on ebay and a broken 8125.. on receipt all I got was a white screen, then last night I replaced with the new screen and got the cingular logo and the windows mobile "touch anywhere to set up.." message.
Well, touching it did nothing, and the keyboard didn't work, so i opened it up again.
Somehow when I opened it up, the power switch button circuit thing detached from the mainboard (and it looks like the owner before me had actually crazy glued it on!!) .. and now the thing won't power up, won't show a charge light... nothing at all when plugged in or attached to my PC. So I hope that detached power button is the culprit. Upon further inspection I saw that yet another had detached but I can't seem to find where it landed... this one for the little button next to the slider, I don't really know what it does yet.. .
.. so I guess first step is to solder that power button back on and see what happens. Does it sound like a missing power button circuit thing would cause the unit to no longer power on at all (even when soft reset when connected to PC, which used to power it on?)
Pete
i did this. it is hell to solder on. I would say replace the phone

Argh.. well, i'll give it a go with the power switch.... do you think it will affect the phone to be missing the comm manager switch off the mainboard too... or will the phone still function without this piece soldered on?

Yes, the power on/off button being broken is the reason why you had a white screen, and only getting the splash screen after replacing the touch screen. If you're a good assembly man, I'd suggest try to solder the button back ln place or replace the device. As for the button by the volume slider, that's the comm manager button. If you can ever get to the homescreen, the comm manager icon to activate the comm manager (bluetooth, WiFi, etc. is in the system tray at the bottom of the homescreen.
It sounds to me the new screen was replaced improperly, accounting for nothing happening when you tap it.Try re-installing the replacement screen.

usualy i am good with physical problems like this but i am now forced to make my own thread because i have no idea why my device wont power on.
after opening my blackstone/touch hd to tighten my screws, my power button has stopped working.
(fyi, a screw came loose a while ago near my sim card after dropping my devive so i thought id tighten all my screws while i had my screwdrivers out fixing my cousins phone)
however, without having the plastic power button attatched to the device, i am able to press the actual button with my stylus and make contact with the main button on the motherboard, the device will now power on.
(eliminating that the actual button to power on is broken)
but, when i attatch the plastic button and press it to power on the device, it doesnt make contact with the actual button inside on the motherboard.
(not making contact with the button on the motherboard)
i have examined the plastic button, all is intact and i am assembling it to the device correctly.
i have examined the actual power button on the motherboard and that is working perfect.
what the hell is going on?
thanks
Rn
ps, i need my power button
cba putting my stylus in and taking it out whenever my backlight goes off
* if you want a picture of my plastic button, i will dissasemble my device and take a picture.
Pictures ?
Where can I find a replacement power button? The actual plastic that goes on the outside?
I asked my dad to put in my new battery fro the zte axon 7 and after he was done he some how broke the power button. not the one on the back shell of the phone but the one on the strip and the screen. the small plastic sheet with the black thing in the middle is missing. I was wondering how can I fix it or turn it on without the power button working.
just plug in your charger and it will boot up just fined. im also had broken power button+volume
and been using it for 3 weeks already

if you can't just connect it to turn on, expose the buttons strip and take a look at the power button. If the small piece of metal is still soldered, take it out and use something metallic to connect the pads that are below (there should be 2, maybe 4 i don't remember). The phone should turn on.
You'll have to buy the strip off of Aliexpress or somewhere like that, someone else here broke the button the same way and had to buy one from China
Good afternoon, see if you can help me.
I have received a Psmart that got wet and with some rusty part, I have managed after cleaning the rust and changing the screen (15e) that everything works except the power button.
The button works well but looking at the motherboard it seemed to me that something was missing and looking for photos I have located that the rust ate the resistance of the power button, and therefore it does not turn on (to turn on, I disconnect the battery and then I connect it to the power supply)
Could someone tell me the value of that resistance?
I attach an image of the area of the plate and a diagram of the resistances, I am missing the one indicated with the arrow that I put as 1.
Thanks!!
