I'm in Philippines right now in vacation and I bought from here a brand new Samsung N9005 32G (Orange France) with 4.3 software version, and i guess the store that sold me the phone unlocked it to work on any network, because the box was opened.
The second day i received it i saw that is rooted, but i didn't saw SuperSu application (the application that i always knew you should have if you were rooted), and i decided to install it, but by installing SuperSu, this action unrooted my phone. The next thing i did is to search on web how to root it back, but i couldn't root it back, that rooting process didn't work.
Then i decided to install BoBCaTROM_EVO_v4.1, to have a newer software version and to root it back eventually, and this bricked (or soft bricked) my phone.
After i bricked my phone by trying to install BoBCaTROM_EVO_v4.1, i tryed to install at least 5 different roms through Odin (1.7, 3.07, 3.09).
no meter what room i try to install throught odin i get this error after few seconds: SW REG CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 2
If i need to give you more information about my problem, so that you guys can help me, please tell me.
I don't know many thing about android, i just had in the past some android phones with 2.0, 3.0 firmware and a couple of Chinese tablets but i didn't encountered any problems when i rooted them or changing their software. please help me like it's my first day on android, i would kindly appreciate.
Please, please, i hope someone can help me to get it working again.

It's failing on Boot loader, it would seem the shop have put Kitkat on it or you've tried to flash a Kitkat based ROM, go ahead and flash a Kitkat Stock ROM and it should be OK - sammobile.com grab XEO (Poland)

Flash 4.4.2 through Odin
Bricked
I have the same problem but I didn't have any root on it, it is an original France XEF phone and first i tried to flash a stock Hungary (T-mobile) 4.4.2 firmware from sammobile. (I'm from hungary). First it failed later i tried to flash the Original France XEF 4.3 but it failed too. Now I can't flash anything on it, and KIES doesen't recognize my phone. I used Odin3 v3.09.
At boot says the binary offical, system offical, reactivation lock off, knox 0x0, knox warranty 0x0, qualcomm secure boot enabled, write protection enabled.
When falshing i got the same problem : SW REG CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 2
Please help!
Thanks!

Should i still go for flashing the poland xeo kitkat firmware? Or should i choose something else like orange france kitkat firmware (if it was released) ? I didnt tried yet the poland firmware because i have some electricity problems, and i cant use my laptop yet. Thank you.

Knox 0x0 -> warranty intact
___
For bad Signal
- do a factory reset
- flash modem.bin and non-hlos.bin from the na6 firmware from your country

You tried root made for N9007 ??? Maybe a curropt dowload .try flashing again.
Btw to get back your device to work flash your official firmware through odin.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
yep, it was a direct download from chainfire... IDK, hope the reflash will work... I am going to hang myself if it wont.
There are different files for 4.3 and 4.4
but not for 9007 bcs there is just Jelly Bean, no KitKat yet...
ok update, I am stuck with writing error... tried to flash official JB but still got the same error... anyone could help?
Used Odin 1.85? And right instructions.
Wipe cache and data reset

I'm guessing you have the Australian Optus device. If so I have the same one and successfully rooted mine (SM-N9007) last night without a problem! (Been running root apps ie. Titanium Backup and xposed framework)
I jumped on 'AndroidXDA.com' and downloaded CF-Auto-Root File from their guide. If your phone is bricked then download official firmware for SM-N9007 from sammobile and install using ODIN 3.09. Hopefully you'll be able to get it working.
Thanks, I managed to reinstall the stock rom and root it - the problem was with the usb connection, my pc has got problems with usb ports from time to time. So I switched to another pc and got it working

Now my phone is stuck in Odin mode with the message: "Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue. Please... recovery mode in Kies."
I'm using the September version of 4.2.2 firmware for Singapore downloaded from Sammobile (I cannot attach links as I'm new here)
Tried different USB ports, 2 different cables.. Just haven't tried on a different machine. Not sure if it's an issue with the firmware or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
You can't downgrade from 4.3 or 4.4.2 to android 4.2.2. Million of threads opened before yours. Pls use the search button
When you say "before", does it mean the stock firmware my phone came with? My phone came with 4.2 i believe, and I upgraded subsequently to 4.4.2.. Does it make any difference?
In any case, if I download 4.4.2 from sammobile and flash with odin again, it should probably be ok?

Tried different USB ports, 2 different cables.. Just haven't tried on a different machine. Not sure if it's an issue with the firmware or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Open KIES plug your phone in and choose "Emergency Recovery" option. It helped me in the past with similar issue.

When you say "before", does it mean the stock firmware my phone came with? My phone came with 4.2 i believe, and I upgraded subsequently to 4.4.2.. Does it make any difference?
In any case, if I download 4.4.2 from sammobile and flash with odin again, it should probably be ok?

1. You void ur warranty trying to downgrade (KNOX: 0x1 in bootloader).
2. Your phone came with android 4.2.2.
3. Your phone will be ok if you update your phone to 4.4.2.
Ah thanks! got my s4 back working again.
Anyway.. my bootloader actually shows the following:
KNOX KERNAL 0X0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0X0
CSB-CONFIG-LSB 0X30
Seems like my warranty is still intact aye..?

Hey... i guess the problem that you are facing is becoz of samsung knox.. once you modify your phone with unofficial software the knox system chances the binary value to 0×1 from 0×0 hence may be that's why you are not able to install updates...

If you had de knoxed your device then surly you can't update with a new firmware... coz knox system is developed in such a way that it will prevent the update..

Hi guys, i been searching for long time to resolve my issue and nothing found i think you guys could help me.
The issue is
My phone was rooted - Samsung Galaxy S4 - GT-I9505
And then i unrooted, but nothing to do with this, it was all oK..
After that i tried to upgrade the firmware from sammobile something like that..
I downloaded the new firmware I9505XXUGNG8_I9505MAXGNG1_I9505XXUGNG8_HOME.tar for my phone
And in the end of the line using Odin i got FAILED red box.. And since that i can't boot my phone stuck at Odin Mode: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & Try again. And up with small text says: Odin Mode, PRODUCT NAME: GT-19505, CURRENT BINARY: costum, SYSTEM STATUS: costum, KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0, KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1, CS0-CONFIG-LS8: 0x30, WRITE PROTECTION: enable, eMMc BURST MODE: enable
i tried with Kies but i can't connect , because i think after i unrooted, i reset my phone so USB debugging is not checked. I think for that. So i'm trying to install new firmwares with Odin and is not working i always get fail message red box, i tried all versions.
Does anyone know what to do please.
i Appreciate it.
Thanks.

That's what he's doing. It should be working.
It MIGHT be because you have non official firmware on it now and it's not accepting the flash back to stock. IF that's the case the solution is to uncheck auto reboot in Odin and run the install sequence twice in a row. That's worth a shot here, but I don't think it's the solution.
Do you still have a working custom recovery? If so you should still be able to flash a custom ROM. I might try flashing a custom TouchWiz rom then starting over.
Still fail !
