How to Mute the ring

I had the diamond and the HTC Pro2 before and whenever I got a ring that I don't want, I just press on one of the volume buttons and it will mute the ring, but in the HD2, I remember it was working at the begininning but after some installation or tweak I lost it and even the mute ring button on screen is not working any more, does anybody know how to fix this. Thanks

Both actions should mute the ring. Try the third option. Flip over the phone to face it down. It also mutes.
I also have this issue but on text messages.. I have a song as the ringer for a text.. the ringer wont stop unless i actually open the message that was received. =(
If i get one txt after another, both songs overlap

Thanks for reply.. However, to those considering using a shorter sound as an sms. if the mp3 sound is to short or file size to small, the phone wont pick it up, it wont even appear as an option to use as a ringer.
in that case use wma or wav files. the alarms that come built in are around 50k wma files.
Another observation was that if you fo to Setting> All Setting> Sound & Notifications.. Notifications tab, Select Incoming Message, and select Display Message on Screen.. Then the ringtone will only sound for 3-5 secons...
Just FYI..

Vibration!!??

So every time I pick up my phone the phone vibrates. Anyone know why? Are you guys getting that too? It vibrates initially and then that's it.

I know when I had the S4 it had an option to vibrate when I pick it up if I had a notification. Haven't looked into the Note 3 to see if it has it.
yes its because you have a notification, you can make it beep or vibrate

How do you mute ALL camera sounds, not just the shutter sound?

I've already muted all the touch sounds on my phone and also the shutter sound on my camera, but the apps still makes "woooosh" type sounds when I go into settings and things.

Yes. There's only an option to turn off the shutter sound.

You mean in settings for Camera? When you click the gear icon and you get noises?
When I was on stock I usually just hit the power button, then click on Mute. It's annoying but it works.

That's dumb that we can't turn off the UI sounds in the stock camera!

No not rooted.. so there's no regular setting to change the sound? Only via root and getting in the folder path.

You still can receive calls in ringing mode, but the locking/unlocking sound will come again
Vibrate/donotdistrub = unlocking/locking sound disabled
Ringing mode = locking/unlocking sound is enabled

Anyone else doesn't hear touch tones when they dial?

Yes, it is enabled in Phone/Settings/Call alerts and Ringtones - Play Keypad Tones is checked.
