I had the diamond and the HTC Pro2 before and whenever I got a ring that I don't want, I just press on one of the volume buttons and it will mute the ring, but in the HD2, I remember it was working at the begininning but after some installation or tweak I lost it and even the mute ring button on screen is not working any more, does anybody know how to fix this. Thanks

Both actions should mute the ring. Try the third option. Flip over the phone to face it down. It also mutes.
I also have this issue but on text messages.. I have a song as the ringer for a text.. the ringer wont stop unless i actually open the message that was received. =(
If i get one txt after another, both songs overlap

Thanks for reply.. However, to those considering using a shorter sound as an sms. if the mp3 sound is to short or file size to small, the phone wont pick it up, it wont even appear as an option to use as a ringer.
in that case use wma or wav files. the alarms that come built in are around 50k wma files.
Another observation was that if you fo to Setting> All Setting> Sound & Notifications.. Notifications tab, Select Incoming Message, and select Display Message on Screen.. Then the ringtone will only sound for 3-5 secons...
Just FYI..

It seems that u can use any MP3, wav etc. files as your ringtone. But if you set your ringtone to vibrate and ring, the audio will play well but the vibrate mode will continue vibrating until the audio finish, and this is kinda annoying.
Is there any software that could edit this ringtone and vibration mode?
I know that nokia ringtones has the ability to control the vibrate pattern with their .nrg files, but i don't think it's supported with PPC and you can't get the .nrg editor. They keep it close to themselves.
Do let me know if there's any such s/ware or any of u guys who could develop it...
Thxs
Anyone have an answer to this? I know that this post is old but perhaps there is still no clear answer (yes I have done the search thing but nothing came out) so I am having the same problem, anyone out there who could shed light into this? It would be also be beneficial if someone could tell me if there is a way to make the long custom sms stop when I have already acknowledged the alert? it is kinda annoying specially if you forget to set to silent on a meeting, it still plays even if I have already touched the phone and tried to switch it off. please help? thanks.
i am searching for this function too. vibrate and sound at the same time. every profile-manager i have seen can make only vibrate or sound. or first sound an then vibrate.
This Software can make it:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/phonesuite/screenshots.html
(Profil: loud)
but i need only a software for profiles not for contacts and so on.
Maybe there is a way to do this, but I'm not aware - does anyone know of a way to enable alarm even when teh phoen is on vibrate or on silent? (this came to me because I set the phone to silent and forgot to turn I was late for work today)
enAlarmPPC
When you mean an application for alarms, then you should really take a look at enAlarmPPC. You can simply force a volume, and it will play sound even if in "vibrate" or "mute".
awesome... I think that's exactly what I need. Thanks
i use vibrate mode all the time, but don't like the fact that it silences your phone. But this is what i have found:
Instead of going into vibrate mode through comm manager or through a "profile" (like from the HTC Touch Today plugin), go to settings and then select Sounds and Notifications. Select Notification tab, and from the drop down menu select Phone: Incoming call and select vibrate. When you do this, your phone vibrate when there is an incoming call but is not silenced for other functions of the phone like alarms, music, etc.
Disadvantage is that it is not 1 simple step, so if you back and forth between ring and vibrate it is not ideal, but if you set it on vibrate all the time like me, it is ideal.

You could probably Mortscript it...
yea, the thing is I always change to vibrate when I'm at work/quiet areas and I'd liek to have a simple profile change button that changes it to a vibrate + ringer.

Give PhoneAlarm a try! Then you can create profiles.

Hey guys,
as it turned out the Ring sound level is only for the ringing tone. I had ring level on maximun while system level was off. I raised the system volume and the sms sound was back on. I dont know if this applies to the rest of you but give it a shot. Thanks for your replies.
I always have my phone on vibrate and when I get a text it only vibrates three short pulses. If I am walking around I don't always feel that. Can I change or setup something to get the pulses a little longer or something?

Thanks, you just reminded me that I needed to set that up on my phone. Here's what I did:
Went to Notes and then selected the Recording option. In a silent place, record 30 seconds of silence. Then save this file. Tap and hold it until you see a dialog tab open that includes, Set as Ringtone.
Go to Settings, Personal, Phone. Select Vibrate and Ring. Your phone should now continously vibrate while the recording plays.
Now, I gotta personalize it with the USC Fight Song. . .
But if I do this it doesn't have a ringtone while I have the ringer set to normal and not vibrate.

So, there is no other way to do this? This doesn't seem to do what I want. something in the registry?
Is there any way to make vibrate and then ring for income calls?
yea I would like to know the same thing. It's a great feature to have and i don't understand why they didn't have it on originally.
not a practical solution could be by adding 3 seconds of silence in the beginning of your mp3 ring tone file

That could be a good solution. Thanks.
I have seen some apps in the market to add the vibrate then ring, as "RingMaster-Ringtone". Anyone has tested it?
