Hi guys this morning i thought it was cool to have android 4.4 on my L7 so i've downloaded and installed vanir4.4. It didn't boot after half an hour so i've installed cm11 by cr3pt and happened the same thing. I've also tried KitKat Prime rom and had bootloop again. The problem is not that i'm unpatient because i've waited at least half an hour for each rom to boot and i've googled the whole day but couldn't find a solution. What could be the problem? Maybe my phone doesn't like Kitkat... I must say that other roms like cm10, cyanfox and cm10.2 by cr3pt work perfectly only 4.4 roms don't boot. Now I've installed a previous version of vanir but doesn't boot. Please help me
Maybe you didn't wipe data, cache and dalvik cache...
For some ROMs based on 4.4, you need to format everything excepted the external card for it to boot.

Actually, I think Vanir is the smoothest KK ROM for our device, and also one of the most stable !

I first installed cm10.2 was working fine.
after that i flahed the Touchwiz JELLYBEAN 4.3 VERSION... so when my phone booted it failed all the time.
after i saw the mistake i tried to flash AOSP JELLYBEAN 4.3 VERSION. Now when its done booting and should pop up the sim unlock it just reboots...

Whoop whoop Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I have an odd issue with my Nexus 7.
I have first used the Toolkit to make a clean update to 4.4.2. KOT49H.
Then I installed Purity Rom and PA Gapps, everything worked.
But when I tried to install a new Kernel (Oxydo or Faux123), I have a bootloop just after it.
I tried to wipe at differents stages, different roms, I tried the install in different orders but at the end, the only way is too wipe system or factory reset and then reinstall the custom Rom. I guess it works again because Purity has a proper kernel ?
I use TWRP v2.6.3.1.
Thanks.
Have you tried using the lean kernel?? I had issues with purity using m-kernel. I then switched to lean. I'm guessing with the minimalistic nature of lean kernel I didn't cause any problems with the system. Overclocked to 1500 using interactive governor.

Oxydo kernel has some issues right now. Are you installing the v2 of the kernel?
Samsung will upgrade to 4.4
I wonder if this makes possible an official update from Cyanogen team, as the official ROMs from Cyanogen stopped in 4.3
Does anyone have any idea if we still upgrade the CM?
Thanks for attention.

There is unofficial 4.4 CM for Note 2 runs good
Check out OmniROM 4.4 and SlimKat 4.4
Not much difference between those 3 Roms anyways don't worry about CM

Flashing is easy
After you root and install custom recovery, all you have to do is download the ROM and transfer it to your SD card
Enter recovery, wipe dalvik cache, cache and data, find the ROM ZIP file, and flash!
The only way to soft brick your phone is to flash the LTE version of the rom or to flash rom without wiping cache and data
I personally do a full wipe (dalvik, data, system, internal storage , cache)
Hi, my G2 d802 is running CloudyG3 Rom and I want to convert to CyanogenMod 11. What are the steps?

install the latest twrp recovery. do an advanced wipe [select everything *besides internal storage*] wipe the phone. download the cm11 rom based on your phone version and also download gapps 4.4.x package from CM site. I was running CM11 fine but whenever I used my 4g internet the phone kept crashing and restarting...
I am running CloudyG3 rom now and I like it better than CM11 for the moment.

actually , download CM11 and gapps BEFORE wiping your phone
so make sure you have the zips on your sdcard before you start wiping
I am currently using cm12 on my nexus 7 2012 WiFi (grouper) with TWRP recovery. I am fed up with the lollipop lags and want to get back to KitKat. All I wanted to know that can I directly flash cm11 using the recovery (after factory reset and wiping cache) ? Or is there any other way to do it?

you will need to wipe data before going back to cm11. you should have a backup somewhere....
fyi, optipop with f2fs and overclock runs smoother than any rom ive ever used on here. even usbhost's crom builds(sorry bro).
if you do end up going back, please wait patiently and dont give up on lollipop. we are close to having the 3.4 kernel ported and that will breathe new life.
cheers
