I think I have the same problem you have with my Nexus S.
It doesn't completely not recognize my SIM card because I can make calls, but it can't draw my contacts from my SIM card
and it doesn't seem to draw some other information from my SIM card that makes it so that I can't have mobile data.
Flashing to another ROM has fixed this, so for now, I can conclude that it's just Slimkat.
You might get help faster if there is more info on the problem.

I purchased the used HTC Cruise (Polaris) from my friend which have problem that it don't detect the Sim card plus the camera is not working...
What i have done up now:
1. Unlocked successfully using Polaris Unlocker.
2. Updated the radio to 1.59.44.02
3. Flashed the custom rom (3LIT3_VII_FULL)
But, nothing worked until now. Can some one suggest somethings to try to only make the Sim to work for the time being. Is this may be the connector itself?

Hello Mustking,
havo you tried to clean up the contacts on the micro-sd-card? That's the most common problem.

Charge the phone and try to reinstall the OS on SD card. See if you find any luck..

I'm installing WP7.5 onto my htc hd2 and after much reading its starting up.
But then WP shows message the sd-card can't not be read. I search more on XDA and found some tips and tried those , but still no luck ( installed radio 2.15 , ... ).
I'm trying with a 8Gb SDHC from sandisk.
Does any size works , or must it be a 16Gb card ?

no matter which size, must be unlockd and formatd to fat32 before flash wp7
Thank you , soo stupid I didn't think about that.
The sd-card was ntfs formatted after re-formatting to fat32 and re-installing the rom , its working.
Now it ask for activation code, but much to found about this on xda

This worked perfectly for me, just don't tell them that you have a HTC HD2, tell them you have HD7.

Yep. I used the online chat and all they asked me for was my phone number and then gave me my code. I was kinda shocked how easy it was. You'd think Microsoft would have found out by now from the sheer number of people asking for a key lol.
I don't know, I would think they should have understood it by now, but I'm not sure since it's still that easy. I think it's 15 $ for a licence or something and they just give it away that easy, but I'm happy. I was shocked to, it was ridiculously easy to get that code.

my english is terrible but i try to explain what´s wrong with my Defy. Google translate helpf´s me a little bit.
So ..... my Defi dosn´t recognitze any SD-Card.
I tried 5 various card´s and nothing works.
The card´s are okay. They work perfectly in my HTC HD2 with Sensation XL ROM.
I think it´s a hardware problem. Hardreset dosn´t help.
Is there a known issue with the card reader ?
What can i do ? Trashcan ?
Any idea ?

Root it, install Sndinit 2.3 apk. Enable USB Debugging, Install Recovery. Disable Debugging. Reboot phone, press voldown button on blue led. Select ,,Recovey,, when ,,Custom Recovery,, ,,Mounts & storage,, ,,Mount SD card,, If it mounts card, problem is with Android
