So what started off as a 500$ unlocked (16gb) to 400$ and now to 300$ all in 5 months. [August Release Date]
What sort of resell value are we looking at before the Moto X2 comes out around august?? Im only curious because I would like to purchase this moto x unlocked phone now for 300 and sell around July/August.
At this rate, its looking like ~100$-125$? What do you guys think?
You should not consider a smartphone as an investment. It depend on how much more discount Google will give it. If the price stay the same, I would say if you keep it mint, my guess is $240.
You couldn't even buy a mint (international) Galaxy S2 for $125 and its 3 years old.

Probably around $250 if you keep it in good condition.

I just sold my black Verizon branded x on swappa for $290. That right there bad for the $299 unlocked motomaker I just ordered.

I am not looking at this as an investment. I am simply need a temporary to use a 4G/LTE compatible phone because I am using ATT Iphone4s on Tmobile network, which is very spotty due to different bands (And lack of). I will probably look into a top tier phone like S5 or Iphone6 come July. I am just looking to buy one motox new (take care of it) then sell it and have it hopefully cost me 20-30$ a month on average.
Im happy everyones so optimistic that till still be near the 200$ range considering its only $300-330 now. Whats the best way to sell? Craigslist, ebay or Swappa? Thanks guys!

Craiglist only if you carry a Remington 12 gauge for protection, otherwise Swappa is hassle free. You might be able to get a few dollars more from eBay, but they have lots of fees so in the end it's not worth it.
I think you should look to buy a phone as a keeper than just temp use. People have said Moto X feel faster than their Note 3 due to better software optimization. Seems like a waste if you're buying it just to use LTE temporarily.

Why not a moto g?
Also IIRC ebay + paypal fees run about 13% on a phone I think - about $40 on a $300 sale? Swappa is $10 + paypal fees (3%) - about $19.

It actually started out at $600 for those who just can't wait when a new phone is released. :/ I've sold phones on eBay and Craigslist. As mentioned, you might get a little more from eBay but Craigslist is usually faster. Regarding the shotgun comment, always be sure to meet in a public place and don't give your description until you arrive. Most people are decent and just looking for the item you're selling.

It's true though that the X has lost more value from release date in 6 months than nearly any other flagship I've ever seen. Yes that's because google and Motorola themselves have dropped the price. But even so, resell value for those who bought on release date has dropped well over 50% in 6 months. That's remarkable. Takes an iPhone about 2 years to lose that much value. Samsung and htc flagships don't drop that fast either, by a long shot.
I'm thinking the major discounts are going to level off...I can't really see Moto selling this phone for less than $300. It's possible it might eventually hit $300 off contract as the standard price, but if you keep your phone in good condition, I would think you would be able to net $200 for it in the summer (so $220-230ish before fees/shipping). That's what I'm hoping at least...
I've never bothered selling an old phone....I gift them to family and friends that have even older phones.
But, based on current prices of the Moto x, I'd say we won't be getting too much selling them used later. I've seen used nexus 4's for almost the same as used Moto x's.....
Guess we'll see later.

After I got the Moto X, I sold my previous phone (the HTC Rezound) on eBay for $80 (although I included 2 spare batteries, and had it S-OFF with an unlocked bootloader).
That phone was in rough shape, and heavily used. I think $100 will be the absolute minimum the Moto X would go for. A nice, thin 4G phone with great battery life? You won't get $250 in July, but it'll still hold up pretty well.
One problem I see is with bizarro color combinations, and the effect that will have on resale value.

Never thought of that. LOL. Moto makers will be a tough sell. They'd have to like the color combination to even consider it. Personally if I saw a wood back phone in the classifieds, I'd be hitting the back button before I read a thing. No matter the price. Lol

Get a nexus 5. I was one of the first to buy. I just sold it on eBay for 399.95. It cost me about 50 bucks for a few months which basically was tax and shipping. Chances are you'll like it enough to keep it.

Definitely not true. Prior to the price drops, 16GB Moto X's could be found on swappa for roughly 450 dollars. Roughly about the same price on ebay, but I was able to snag a very lucky BIN for $400 for a 16gb back in November.
If you look at the most recent sold listings on swappa, most of them are still in the $350 range, which is plenty good considering they had their huge fire sale for $350 a month ago AND the $300 sale the other day.
Phones that are usually subsidized by the carriers and that are actually POPULAR, like the HTC One or S4, usually sell for much less at this point in time. Look on swappa's listings of sold S4s, they're all low 300s. Granted the phone has been out longer, but that's nearly a 250-300 drop in value. The X's used price hasn't changed very much in comparison, given that Moto dropped the price over 150 dollars over the past couple months.
That my friend is supply and demand. There isn't an abundance of used x's like every other phone yet. I don't even think Motorola sold that many new lol. Up until a few days ago second hand was the only way to get them overseas. Now that's not the case so I still say the prices will drop, but you're still better buying and selling at full price than subsidizing with Verizon or at&t. Especially if you switch every few months.
For the op however, I reiterate... Nexus 5

theres alot of talk of switching from this phone to that, but how do they do it? My dad has always handled the purchasing and contract stuff with tmobile, so i dont know. Theoretically if i wanted to switch from my vib to the G2 (NEVER!), would i just sell my vibrant and buy the G2 at full price?
note: this is just an example, G2's are stupid (for me)
Buying the phone outright, at least on T-Mobile, will give you cheaper rates. Part of your monthly bill is to pay back the difference between what the carrier paid for the phone and the discounted price they sold it to you for. For example, my Evo cost Sprint about $450 to buy it from HTC, however in exchange for a higher bill, they can sell it to me for $200 and make back the money about halfway into my contract. Like I said, I think only T-Mobile will give you lower rates if you choose not to buy the phone at a discounted price from them.
So yes, people usually buy them outright or they buy them for cheap off of friends or idiots on craigslist. If you do the math, most of the time it would cost you less to buy the phone for the full price if it means lower service cost. But most people want instant gratification and think...well they don't think lol.
A job helps. I buy my phones outright because the get more plus plan does not give upgrades, but over the long term, it saves money.
me i actually wait until the store is closed and "let myself in" and its usually a alot of phones out on display.
If you did not buy the phone outright (i.e. as an upgrade for cheap), and wanted to sell it and buy a different phone used, would that cause a problem for your account? Or would it just be as easy as logging into your T-Mobile account and selected a different device for "my phone"?

Once you pay for it, it's yours. You can do whatever the hell you want with it. Sell it, destroy it, whatever. As long as T-Mobile's getting their money, it doesn't matter.

IMHO, I'd say once a year is more than sufficient to upgrade your phone in terms of the technological jumps. Anymore than that seems like a waste of money. No one says you have to keep upgrading, its just a matter or preference. If you find a phone you love and works for you, stick with it. If you love having the cutting edge stuff and its worth it to you to spend the money, then by all means, spend spend spend.
a job and full price. lol. i haven't had a contract with tmob for like 4 years anyway...
but then again, i went from a g1 to the vibrant, but i typically get a new phone once a year. had a bb curve, wanted android and got the g1, cm wasn't cutting it on the g1 anymore, so i got the vibrant, when a substantially better phone comes out (dual core, better screen, honeycomb, etc), or the vibrant just isn't working for me i'll get a new one (likely the former).
that or my wife needs a new phone (she has a cliq...), so i may pawn my vibrant off on her and grab an sgs2 or vibrant 4g.

If you don't have any connections, then the best way is to go on T-mobile's cheap plans and then buy the phones used from a site like ebay or craigslist.
The typical cost for a new-ish smart phone is going to be right around $300... so you are paying more than the $200-with-contract price that T-mobile charges.... but you break even on the extra cost in 5-6 months by avoiding the extra monthly cost for service on a contract (since you buy the phone without signing up for a contract).
You can also usually sell the old phone for ~$100 after you unlock it, and put that money towards your next upgrade.
Right now, I plan to see how the battery life on the dual core phones goes. If battery life is improved, then I will shoot for device running "Ice cream" or whatever comes after honeycomb.
If battery life still sucks, then I will keep my Vibrant (and the 3 spare batteries I have for it) in the short term and keep an eye out for cheaper plans
Im in a college town and I can get things cheap off craigslist. I bought my second vibrant for 120 brand new with accessories. Just got an hd7 for 150 and ive bought 4 hd2 plus a couple broken ones from 40-150.
Key to buying phone monthly is patients, checking craigslist every couple hrs, and lowballing. I love to see a listing up for a couple days because its usually the green light.
Every phone i buy i usually see for 2x what I paid for.
Ive been living off my first real phones tmobile mda, samsung blackjack, and moto milestone. Ive been selling and buying since my mda. I try not to use my own money.
And all but not least I dont care for light cosmetic issues, thats what silicon cases are for.

Not really. All it takes is a brain. T-Mobile is addicted to promotions. I just upgraded my Vibrant to a HD7 for $200.
Free Online Promotion:
1. Order HD7 from T-Mobile as an Add-a-Line for $0 (they waive the Activation Fee) with a $15 Data Plan and Insurance.
2. Swap the SIMs in the Vibrant and HD7s.
3. Wait 2 Weeks.
3a. Sell the Vibrant for $200+
4. ETF the Line you added when you got the HD7 (it's using your older SIM*).
5. Total Price: $200 (Price of the phone for a new customer).
* You will still qualify for upgrade pricing when you would have if you had kept the Vibrant, because you still have the Vibrant SIM, you ETF'd the new SIM instead
If you're on T-Mobile, watch the promotions and wait. The only time you should feel like you have to get a new phone early is if you've been burned with an earlier purchase - like many [US] Galaxy S users feel they were.

The newer 360s aren't White, they're black.
Unless you meant a newer white 360 that isn't guaranteed to fail on you sooner or later?
The new Black "S" or pre-"S" Elite Models are fine, though.
The white ones... I wouldn't spend anything on them.

yeah, you could do that. but you pay more monthly on a contract plan than a no contract plan. plus, if i have a problem with something (or want to go to a contract for a phone), tmob is much more receptive to what i want when i'm off contract (and they check how long i've had service with them).
and i think you mean cancel the new sim/line and pay the etf on that. otherwise you lose future upgrade capability on the existing line. you physically swap the sim card between the two phones, but you cancel the sim that came with the <new phone line>. sim cards can't be reused, so you wouldn't be able to make your old sim use the new line's number and i'm pretty sure a sim has to be associated with a line.
why wait 2 weeks and why buy insurance? or is the two weeks to make sure the imei of the new phone takes for insurance (i don't have phone insurance, it's pointless)?
the hd7? that's a downgrade... and 'get a new phone early'? two years (22 months) between new phones is ridiculous, or at least is for any smartphone. once a year is about right with how technology is moving on phones.
i'm much happier just paying full price than doing some 'activate new line, call and ***** they didn't waive the activation fee, make sure the imei transfered for insurance, cancel line, pay more each month, etc.' dance.

That depends on where you live. Since this is the Vibrant forum I'll assume we're talking T-Mobile...
Not many people around here have T-Mobile, and their coverage is worst than Boost and Virgin so there are probably more people on Boost than on T-Mobile. Trying to sell a T-Mobile phone here won't get you anywhere.
Plus, the Value of these phones have gone down quite a bit.
Most people don't really see a point in buying a phone at off-contract prices, or anything close, because even if you buy at contract price and ETF 2 weeks later, the phone is cheaper.
So I rather buy on contract knowing I'm not poor and can ETF at any time on T-Mobile than buy a $500 phone and act like I'm better off because I'm off-contract.
$499 off contract, or $199 (with rebats) + $200 ETF fee two a few weeks later to end the contract?
Don't see a point in paying those prices for off-contract phones...
The contract prices only matter if you stay on the contract the entire time, but it's ALMOST ALWAYS cheaper to buy at contract price and ETF on T-Mobile later, than to buy an off-contract phone. You're actually throwing money away if you buy it off-contract.
That is precisely why AT&T and Verizon raised their ETF prices up about $100 bucks. To make the contract price + ETF = retail price. T-Mobile still hasn't, so it's cheaper to buy on contract and ETF break the contract after the first two weeks or month (depending on if you're waiting on rebates).
I'm considering doing it, I have the Galaxy Nexus but the power button is giving up...

I walked into AT&T ready to pay full price but somehow managed to walk away only paying on contract price even though I wasn't eligible for an upgrade. That said, had I actually paid full price, I would still love it just as much and would still be extremely happy with my purchase. I paid full price for both my HTC One and my GS4 Active and this thing blows both of those devices out of the water. As for how long I'll keep it, that depends on what's coming down the pipeline. I switch phones VERY often. I can definitely see myself sticking with this phone longer than I did the One or the GS4 Active though. It is quite the upgrade from the Galaxy Nexus, that's for sure. The GNex isn't in the same league as the Moto X.
You must be making the big bucks to be able to off-contract phones new all the time.
I bought my GalNex for $350 new on eBay about a year ago... I was hoping to get more use out of it, but at the same time I'm not disappointed I "have no choice" but to buy a new phone
That's some luck to pay the upgrade price, I doubt Verizon has overlooked any loopholes there...

$677.98 after tax, zero regrets. Was cheaper then my $932 iPhone 5

I make a decent living but I also use craigslist to my full advantage. I was able to sell my HTC One for $500, and my year old iPhone 5 just sold for $500 as well.
Yeah, I don't know how I got it for that price, but I chalk it up to the ineptitude of the 4 representatives at the AT&T store that took over an hour to figure out how to sell me the Moto Maker card. Something happened when they were making the sale that caused me to lose LTE on all my devices for a few days, and I got an upgrade when there wasn't one. Now the LTE is back on, and I got the phone for less than half of what I was expecting to pay. Sometimes their stupidity can work to our advantage
I would definitely pull the trigger man, you will NOT be disappointed. I feel that the Moto X is the perfect marriage of hardware and software, just like the iPhone is. You have never seen Android run this smoothly before. It is the best possible representation of what an Android phone can be nowadays. Or any smart phone for that matter. I've been through A LOT of phones (including the GNex), so I feel I am qualified to make a statement like that

Just looked at them, they have sales on the Vivid's father (Inspire) but none for Vivid and they're only offering 35 to sell it now.

I found a few Vivids in my extended area being listed for $100- $150. I'd toss it up for $150 and hope that you get it sold for $100. If you can get it unlocked you might even get the $150.

Anyone get a non motomaker one from AT&T? I did, and now I kinda want the motomaker custom designed one. Only problem is this is my only phone and I cant do the motomaker unless i returned mine first (and sat without a phone for 3-8 days)

I kind of want to, but that would involve buying a nexus 4, returning my white moto x, getting the card, waiting for the motomaker x, then selling/returning the nexus 4
Oh, and theres a $35 restocking fee plus another $50 in the extra 32GB
I paid full retail for mine on VZW.com. I'm going to keep mine until the Developer Edition drops. Then I'll get the Dev Edition and swappa this one.
I plan on keeping mine for 18 months or so. Maybe even longer. Unless VZW gets a Nexus. Uh - but I'm not really worried about that. Lol

bought mine a couple of days ago, full retail on at&t.. the agent was like, "you sure you're gonna buy it off contract?!?"
lol
Those that bought off contract, why not order directly from moto maker? Did you just want it right away?

Well I have Verizon, Moto Maker isn't an option yet.... But when it is, if they let me buy off contract from Maker (I heard AT&T and Verizon don't let you) , definitely.

Ouch. Guess they're confident enough in the Nexus line now that they're looking for a profit on devices now too. Maybe a shift to selling subsidized on carriers is more of a priority.

That has to mean that the 64GB version will be $699. That is really crazy for a nexus device.

In my opinion the point of nexus to make high specs phone with instant android version updates with low budget which i cannot find in N6 :/

Too rich for my blood - and for a lot of other people's too, it appears - Google's going to continue to sell the Nexus 5 for those of us without bottomless pockets
Interesting how LOLLIPOP (there - we can say it now!) is built to run on lower spec devices, yet they're still pushing the highest of high ends with this. Not complaining at all - it looks like a beast, alas one I'm unlikely to get to own
When I heard of N6 and it's specs I say: I selling my N5 and must have N6!!
But not when I read about prices.
going back to Samsung, better pay premium for a premium device, not this nexus 5.5
I thought this was the unlocked carrier price, not the Play price...

Samsung always seems to plasticy for me.
As for the $649 I am okay with it. This phone is very comparable to other flag ship devices, so it isn't like it is more expensive then the other phones out there in it range. I think many are just bummed because they are used to paying about half that for a Nexus. I already knew I was getting this phone no matter what and planned for it to be about this expensive just in case. One thing I hope this price does is bring down the bottle neck when it comes time to preorder.
i hope then dont charge shipping unlike during nexus 5 there was a shipping charge. shipping charge is going bring this phone to 700 usd
$649 is a total letdown...
I wonder if that $49.99 with contract deal is real.
Nexus 5 was too succesfull. I'll pass on this, too expensive.

Well I guess I'm out at that price.
Hate to say it but if I'm going $650 I may as well go iPhone in case I want to sell it.
Guess I'll pick up a MotoX 2ndGen after Christmas
Supposedly Tmobile is charging $650 for the 64gb. It doesn't make sense for it to be cheaper than the play store.
The price hasn't been announced officially yet, there's still hope.
If its 650 I'm out

I have a 6P and will likely be going with the Pixel (non XL) upon release. I caved in and got the 6P last year even though I hate phablets, and although it's an amazing phone, I still find it too big to this day. 5-5.2" is my sweet spot. Will buy from play store directly like 6P and N5 before, easier this way especially for warranty imho, unless Videotron in Quebec (likely) or Fido/Virgin/Koodo (unlikely) have it at launch as they all have decent 6GB/60$ BYOP plans ; not Bell/Rogers/Telus.
I'll sell my 6P (pretty sure I can get 300$ for the 32GB still under warranty) so that should offset the, I assume, 750$ish price range for the smaller Pixel. The only major turn off for me is front facing speaker ; I will really, really miss those, especially if the bezels are as thick as the leaked renders/pictures (I'M SURE THERE IS ROOM GOOGLE, WHY? :'( )
And the phone better be f'ing amazing at that price (or really nice at a more decent 600$ish price).*
If the price starts at 650USD which in Canada means 845CAD$ + tax = 975CAD$ I'm out.
I will buy a Iphone 6S probably,

Pixel pre order has been placed ?. Did the phablet on the 6 and went back to the 5x size last year. Bigger isn't always better ?
I pre ordered thru a contract with Telus. $200 up front on a 2 year contract. Looking forward to shipment.

How much is your monthly plan?
Only $12 more than previous contract for Nexus 5 two years ago, which completed by chance in September.
Cell and data bills in Canada are crazy, though. I support openmedia.ca 's efforts.
Total though, $80? I would imagine half of that would go to pay the phone off.
115ish after Data and nationwide calling...expensive
Just ordered my Pixel. Added a new line to my account (Telus) and the phone was 0$ .. Already have 6gb shared data.. so a new plan is 84$ a month taxes included. So it cost me 17$ (sim cost) to order this phone. And comes with 100$ Google play credit!

My monthly bill for the last 2 years was only $12 less then this. I am glad it is not free if the change in bill would be lots higher and it would cost me lots more in long run.
$12 x 24 months + $200 = $488 Pixel at end of contract. Compared to $1033 as someone saw, it is a good deal for me.
Just preordered it from bell for 399 on a 2 year contract. Can't wait for it to come. I think this phone will definitely be worth it.

I pre-ordered 2 black 128GB's yesterday from Rogers for $329 each. The demand for the phone doesn't appear to be that high though judging from my position in the line-up -- I'm 47 in the line-up, and that's after placing my order one week after the device was announced...
With Rogers, if you pre-order, you get 2GB of data extra to add to your plan for 12 months, a free Chromecast and a $50 Play Store credit. And that's per device. Not bad.
In the case of the Pixel 3a, it is basically the Return Of Nexus - remember the Nexus 5 and even Nexus 6? The Pixel 3a has been showing up with some jaw-dropping price tags - as low as (don't faint) $299 unlocked/no carrier. (That is a price I saw with my own eyeballs.) This is pricing I have not seen as of late without substantial compromises. While the 3a has compromises, they aren't the ones you would expect.. While it doesn't support wireless charging, it *does* support fingerprint unlocking (coming from the S7 - which also supports fingerprint unlocking, this is one feature it would have hurt to lose. While it lacks wireless charging(which the S7 Snapdragon supports), it is also a feature I do not use. It still supports USB charging - though it does trade in USB A for USB C (it does include the proper cabling, though) - therefore, it's a quibble. The features it lacks are ones I didn't use - and some of the features it has (the camera, for example) are - quite bluntly - overkill. Despite the $299 price, it is nearly too MUCH phone - which I'm not used to even thinking - let alone saying - for a phone at this price aimed squarely at the US.
I ordered mine (at $399). I am betting that the $299 figure is if you are trading in a phone. I am not doing that. $399 is a good price point. I would have paid another $50 if they had decided to make the battery removable. I should be getting my phone tomorrow. Hopefully the rootz start soon!
Our family is getting two, basically for free, from T-Mobile, for my daughters, and I'll probably be getting an aXL for myself.
Excellent replacement for an ageing OG Pixel and a quirky as heck and frustrating S8., and the aXL will make an excellent backup device for me.
This phone makes a heck-of-a-lot of sense to me. First, average consumers will have access to a better camera than the iPhone at roughly half the price. For too long, I avoid recommending Android to eager iPhone users because most Android cameras suck on mainstream phones.
Second, I don't think wireless charging is deal breaker for most (and it's not for me). I'd much rather have quick charge than slow wireless charging.
Finally, the CPU is a Snapdragon 6xx, but I don't think the average user would notice one bit. Maybe here on XDA, we can quibble over the benefits of one CPU vs the next, but for average daily use, I don't think anyone will notice (except that the battery will last longer)
I think the price at $400 for possibly the best camera on the market with a nice big notch-free screen, USB-C, good battery life and timely Android updates could be a big reason this sells well (if they actually market it)
I think this is going to be my Moto G5+ replacement. I'm tiring of the subpar camera.
After regretting paying 700 for a S7 3 years ago, i'm just done paying that much for a phone. This is exactly what i'm looking for. For those that want better CPU/RAM/SD card slot, you can pay just a little more for a OnePlus 6T. I don't like that the 3a is limited to 64GB of storage with no SD, but in all honesty I don't see that as a real world issue as I rarely if ever find myself needing the extra storage I currently have.
I'm 100% confident root solutions will come quickly too.
My Droid Turbo is definitely showing it's age but Felipe's ROMs and kernel have kept it going. I'll miss wireless charging but gain a great camera. Other options include a Mix 3 which seems appealing save for MMS issues with Verizon, OnePlus 7 if I can limp along until then or hope for another Pixel 3 discount. Replacement displays and other hardware should be much less expensive for the 3a down the road than the other options.
Good news, someone on reddit just confirmed that the bootloader can be unlocked the same way as all previous Pixel phones. Let the games begin!
Why? A great camera is my #1 priority, and #2 is rootable/ROMable because I keep my phones for more than 2 years and want updates. I'm not going to pay Pixel 3 type of prices.

I don't lend any legitimacy to prices through carriers other than Google itself. I know with Sprint, you are paying a price to LEASE the phone and then have to pay to own it at the end of that lease (usually 2 years). I would rather pay my $399 and own it outright without having to pay anything else later.
The unlocked version at Best Buy is not discounted, however, they're offering a $100 BB gift card with purchase, so I just pulled the trigger on the XL and I'll be picking it up today. I'd rather have $100 at BB than $100 at Google Play Store, which Google is offering as well.
I looked at the Google store and it looks like I will effectively be getting it for $299 since I will get a $100 fi credit after I activate the phone. Can't beat that!
Woohoo, got mine... the direct-connect data sync is pretty sweet. It's still updating my apps but this is the easiest phone transition i've ever done. Decided I won't bother with unlocking the bootloader until i'm ready to root (which I imagine won't be too long)
My daughter was begging for a new phone for her 15th birthday. She's been on iphone forever - hand me downs from her mom. I hate supporting iphones. We looked at the specs on this compared to the xr, and she agreed this one looked good - so we bought one yesterday at Best Buy. I didn't even know it came with a $100 best buy gift card, but I wanted to see it in person before buying (otherwise I'd have ordered from Google), and I'm glad I did.
I have a oneplus 6t; I'm curious to see how this phone compares. I'm so proud my kid wanted to switch to android.

The $299USD hitch is that you activate ASAP with AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. No transfer or trade-in required. I inquired because I would be coming from Tracfone/T-Mobile - I would be whacked with the $399 (full bill) price tag (Pixel 3a in Just Black)). Still cheaper than even a Galaxy S9 or Note 9 by $200USD - an S10e by $350USD - in Prism Black in either case. Just about half the price of a Note 9 - and *less* than half the price of the floor S10e. And unlike the S10e, the Q beta is an option from the jump.

We're on the fence right now between a 6T or the 3a XL to replace a Nexus 6P--which, with it's second battery, is still working but approaching 4 yrs (purchased first week). Two months ago I bought a MOTO Z3Play to replace my Nexus 5X which had mobo replaced twice. Now (because of the possibility of wifi calling on AT&T prepaid), I wish I'd remembered this phone was coming out. Z3P doesn't have anywhere near the radio I thought MOTO would give me.
Please report back re the 6t vs 3a once you get a chance to get a feel for it. TIA.
(Proud of your kid, too! I keep an iphone SE for wifi calling as our reception on every carrier is often zero in our house.)

Not just those carriers. If you are a FI customer, google will credit you back $100 after you activate. So I am basically getting it for $299 as well.
Getting so good feedback with the 3A's. Hope it's gonna be mostly positive. Crossing my fingers.
I've got a 6T also, had the 3XL when it released but the combo of horrid notch and 1k price point sent me back to OnePlus. This price makes it all more palatable and I did like the software and camera so I'm going it another go. My tracking shows Saturday, I'll try and post after I've had a chance to flog it enough to get a feel for what's on offer.
