[Q] G2 Korean Battery life - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I have G2 Korean version with removable 2600mah battery which is lower than the int'l version with 3000mah. I've use it for 2 months now until last week when it's the first time I forget to unplug it before I sleep so it was charged overnight. Then at noon time, the phone suddenly shut down with very thin lines. So I quickly charge it but there is a blinking red light. After an hour of plugging and out, thankfully, it charged properly but now I'm only getting 12 hours battery on light usage. I've heared that the non-removable 3000mah gets 19 hours battery, is this true? What's the normal battery life of the 2600mah? Should I get 16 hours (2600mahx19hr/3000mah)?
Did something gone wrong? Any recommendations? I still have warranty. I tried calibrating my battery by draining in and charging it fully while off , calibrating by software (Battery HD) and charging after 30 mins of usage of a fully charge battery (jump starting). Please note that same thing happened on the other battery which also charged overnight on the external charger pack.
Thanks.

Time to fully charge battery

hello
just recieved my HD2 and I've drained my battery to 0%. now I was wondering how long will it take to 100% charge again.. 3 hours? 8 hours?
deiota
ps. Ive done my first 12hours charge already
With the original charger, about 2hrs if you don't use it at the same time.
yes Im using the orginal charger and the hd2 IS power off.
the stuff about charging for hours when you get it and then draining it right down no longer really applies too our batteries.that was for nickle batteries to initialise them and prevent the memory thing. with lithium ion they no longer suffer from battery memory.
ýeah it took about 2 h
2 and half ours starting from zero charge
I never did anything with the battery when i got mine!! Was way to eager to play! Never had any Battery issues.....
I did loosely time it once as i wanted to know what difference a quick charge would make and it seemed like it went up a percent approx every 3 mins... trouble is that doesn't quite equate... it would mean that from 0 - 100% would take 300mins (5hours)! but in reality it probably takes between 2-3hours..
I guess either the battery doesn't charge linearly or the percent display is inaccurate...
I Did a full charge at lunch time since it took me 1day and half till battery to drain completely,
I wonder if I should put it on charger all night long (its 10pm now and I have 80%) or should I let it out of charger...
If your battery needs charge, then charge it. There is NO NEED to completely discharge it and then charge it for sveral hours. In fact, modern li-ion batteries will take damage if _completely_ discharged!
The thing about completely discharging and charging for days is long gone! Batterys have evolved, we dont live in the 1990's anymore

Odd charging issues...

Bought the N4 and charged it full when it arrived without any battery charge. Charging icon showed full (I tap the power button when charging the phone while off to see the charging icon). Put the phone back in the box and pulled it out a few days later after getting a new sim and the battery was dead again...odd. Charged the phone again, turned it on, inserted new temporary sim card, and battery lasted 11 days with very minimal use, but it blew me away that a battery could last that long. When it dies completely, I put phone on charger and saw the battery icon, again, when phone is off and tapping power button, showed full. Unplugged phone but left off. Turned on again 2-3 days later and the battery showed dead. I realized I was using my Galaxy Nexus carger the 2 times it did not hold a charge and thought okay, this phone must require the actual specific charger that comes with the phone. So, charged with the original charger while phone was off and unplugged when charge icon showed full. Turned it on a day and a half later and the battery is at 50%. What is going on? I know I charged with original charger and I saw the icon showing full as the battery was completely lit. Could the battery be discharging while it is off, will the Galaxy Nexus charger not charge the N4, or is the charge icon all wrong and showing full when it is not. Puzzled?
Thanks for any help.

Some components on the board still draw a minimal amount of power while the device is off. If you have a phone with a removable battery, turn it off and leave the battery in. Check it in a week and you'll see significant drain. Pull that same battery out and leave it on a shelf for a week. It MIGHT move by 1%, as long as take battery is healthy.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with what you stated in that the battery may get a minimal draw from a device when off; however, after charging with the proper charger this last time and charging to full, and to see only 47% of the battery capacity remaining after being completly off for 1.5 days is excessive battery drain. Especially since it took 11 days to run the battery down when it was charged completely before.
I don't think that the minimal drain on the battery could run it down 53% in 1.5 days.
Thanks.

That is pretty crazy. I can't test for you myself to give a comparison because I can't leave this phone for a couple of days since it's my main device. Perhaps someone else will volunteer? Anyone?!
have you tried charging through your computer via usb connection? my findings with computer charging this phone is that it is deathly slow compared to one that charges properly through an outlet, but it might be another senerio to add to your predicament.

Any link for rooting the korean version and any free app for freezing apps?
Thanks.

[Q] Battery charging time

Hello guys ! how much does it take to charge Note4 ? I plugged my device when it was 18% and only one hour needed for full charge (no fast charging) and it drains very fast, device is not rooted, charger is original
it takes about one and half hours to charge through the original charger with out fast charge if the device isn't in use
and it around 2 hrs to charge if it is in use

Battery life is terrible at normal usage, unplugged this morning and dropped from 100 to 75 in hour at standby, what the hell is wrong with this thing
your battery must be deffective, I got 10-11% overnight when out of the box, after rooting, and cuatomizing, my batt consumes 4 to 5 % overnight in standby, wifi off data off in about 6 to 7 hours, using greenify, amplify , controlling autostarts, and removing bloat, I mention overnight, because in the day Its highly variable how I use it, if your batt last a few hours in standby, take it to your OFFICIAL vendor/carrier to claim warranty, I did it once, with a Nokia N95, and got a New one, luck man?

S8+ does not charge via ZeroLemon 8500 mAh extended battery

This is puzzling. I got the Samsung Galaxy S8+ ZeroLemon 8500 mAh battery. Verizon FWIW. I plugged the phone in it and charged the phone via the extended battery port. The phone charged to 100% overnight (I kept on the charger for 7 hours).
When I removed the phone off the charger, I ran it to 1% in 11 hours. I was under the impression that I should have gotten much better runtime than that, based on my experience with multiple ZeroLemon devices. At least 24 hours. And that 11 hours did not get a lot of screen time.
When I removed the phone from the ZeroLemon 8500 cell, it did not appear to have been used, all of the 4 lights still light up, indicating it is full. I was not sure how to pull the voltage off of it. But if it got drained, none of the lights would light up, correct? If it's full after a day of usage, the phone shuts down getting drained to 3500 mAh or so without accessing the external ZeroLemon battery, why? Where is the disconnect? Could it be somehow it did not get fully charged over 7 hours? If so, why are the lights on?
could it be that the 8500 mAh cell only got charged half-way or a third of the way there, which makes the 11 hour figure plausible. I know the phone cannot get 11 hours off the stock 3500mAh cell, it's lucky to get 6 to 8 hours.. 3500 mAh is completely inadequate for a 2960x1440 resolution device so the increased resolution drains it that much faster.
The external ZeroLemon battery has to be turned on. Unlike many internal ZL batteries I've had over the years. I assumed it was the same thing. You have to push the button.
