hi im new to android phones but i got 2 htc heroes, 1 for me and 1 for my gf, i rooted and installed fresh rom 1.0 on my phone no problems at all. my gf decided to keep hers stock.i had installed fresh rom and rooted my phone because i was having 100% awake problem, i tried everything i could read on the forums but nothing has helped. its not really that big of a deal considering im getting what i consider excellent battery life for my phone.
but my gf's phone has now started having a problem that i cannot fix, her vibrate on her phone just stopped working completely, i checked the settings and everything is enabled and everything looks good, so i did a hard reset which didnt fix the issue, then i restored it with a back up.
i figured at this time the best thing to do is go to sprint and swap them both out, im loving the phone, and the freedom to customize it, i just hate the 100% awake problem, and the no vibrate is a big deal as it vibrate with calls, texts, or keyboard feedback.
if you guys have any input on what it might be that would be great, but all these phones started having problems when they were stock and not rooted, with minimal apps downloaded.
Thanks in advance
Jon
When the phone is powered off and you very first power it on, it should vibrate right away. That is hard coded in to the phone. Does it do that?
If not then the vibe is defective.
no it didnt, i just went ahead and traded both my phones for new ones, both are working great, no more 100% awake for me and my gf has a phone that vibrates. Now its time to root and flash with Fresh 1.0 again.
TY for your response guess it was just a bad one
quick question, when you exchanged the phone, was it still rooted? im having the same problem with my phone and its a little annoying. ive been looking around to see if there is a way to unroot the phone, but it doesnt look like there is a way to do it.

There's always the RUU (reflashes it back to as if you just got it out of the box...pre MR)

yea it was rooted and still flashed with 1.0 they took it back no problems, since i was still under the 30days return policy.
vibration not working
i rooted my phone with just some rom i found and about an hour ago the vibration stopped working. this is bad for me, i need the virbation more than anything. my 30-day warranty is up but i do have the insurance on my phone, will they let me exchange it even though it is rooted?
Thanks
I was having a similar problem. I downloaded the volume control app and unclicked and reclicked the little vibrate icon above the actual volume level and it fixed it for me.
I tweaked my HD2 before I went on vacation beginning of June. It was like night and day, a very troublesome phone became a very nice and workable tool, I was feeling very proud of myself and my new purchase. I think I've got some of the screen sensitivity issues, and will try one of the fixes for that, but that is not my problem...
Just got back from vacation, put my 'home' GSM chip into the phone, now when I go to hang up the phone, the phone locks up and I am getting the same CPROG.exe problems I was having while running the factory ROM.
Everything was going GREAT!! What the heck could of happened or changed that is causing CPROG to freak out again. Really not looking forward to blitzing this thing AGAIN and starting from scratch, but as of today, this phone is now pretty much useless to me if I can't make more than one call without having to do a soft reset on the blinkin thing.
Help!
Thanks!
Neill
Well, update my radio rom to a different version, and it looks like my CPROG crash may have stopped, but it is still taking forever...30-60 seconds, to initiate or hang up from a call.
Very annoying.
OK...so...this lunchtime, get a few phone calls in and make a few phone calls, now the initiate and hang up process is happening much faster...all by itself, no more tweaks.
Very strange.
so to start off i had liberty and put on the leaked unrooted 2.3 yesterday. decided today i wanted to rooted version.. so i sbfed back to 2.2 froyo. then stuck on 2.3 rooted.. heres the problem.. i have lost my lock screen slider and i dont hear notifications even though its setup and also biggest thing the home button is not working... someone help me
this is frustrating me, basically unusable.. can someone shed light
Hello,
A few hours after I reboot my phone, it will act as though I've removed my SIM (emergency calls only, no text, no data). Restarting the phone fixes the issue for a few more hours, but it's quite annoying to have to turn my phone off and on so often. I'm rooted on MF3, and was running Google Edition 4.2.2 through SS when the issue first appeared, though I have since returned to stock and the issue still exists. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
DorkCat
I am having the same issue, did you ever get this sorted out? My phone is MDB running cm11. I hate to send the phone back... again. My camera crapped out on the first phone. I hate to send it back since I am sure I'll end up with MF3.
Thanks,
Travis
Anyone ever have there note 3 screen go crazy, open up apps, not really allowing you to use any features of the phone. I am currently trying to go back to stock from JasimeRom. No damage no nothing to the phone just started to go bonkers....
I saw a Pantech android digitizer go bonkers when it was plugged in at a work site. The phone managed to call 911 by itself from the lockscreen. It didn't take long before police and ambulance were present. They got the call and nobody to talk to on our end!
einstalled Jasmine and no issues.
just kinda freaky.
just did the 2.4 Jasmine. Phone is back to awesome again.
