Configure Nexus 7 to stream Audio to Android? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This may seem out of place but I could not think of anywhere else to post this.
I am trying to save a bit of money by cutting my Spotify Premium subscription, I use it to listen to music in my car all the time. I use my iPhone 5 connected to my car's iPhone adapter to get the car playing the music. I know the tablets allow you to audio on demand which is what I'm looking for. I want a way to take audio coming from my Nexus 7 tablet (using bluetooth) playing Spotify to end up going to my iPhone and out my speakers. My iPhone is jailbroken if that helps.
I can only find solutions which do vice versa. I may just spring the 50 bucks for an adapter for my car that lets me play aux, but I figured I would try this in the meantime.
Appreciate any help.

JVC KD-R800 + Nexus One = BLISS

For those of us running a Nexus in an older car, particularly without Nav or Bluetooth, I've seen a few posts on here about pairing it with a BT enabled stereo, I just wanted to share my solution.
Some of you may have seen my N1 holder for my daily driver (1990 Jetta Coupe) in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630935
I hate terrestrial radio, and miss the 100GB Phatbox mp3 player in my '02 GTI (which also has Sirius integration and OEM Nav) and wanted to stream Pandora on the Nexus to the car stereo in the Jetta. So I found a way:
I got a JVC KD-R800 for the daily driver, and now stream Pandora/mp3's to the car via Bluetooth, and make/take calls from the headunit as it can read the phonebook on the Nexus and the calls are routed through the car's speakers. As an added bonus, when using Google Nav on the N1, and streaming music at the same time, the music fades out when the Nav talks, then fades back in when it is done talking.
I now have fully integrated Nav and mp3/Pandora functionality in my 20 year old daily driver!
Just wanted to share with those of you looking to find a solution for integrating this awesome phone with your older cars, or cars that just don't have these modern features, as when I was researching this project, I couldn't find anything about the N1 being compatible with the KD-R800.

most older cars dont have aux ports so the cassette adapter would be the substitute for that

Car Bluetooth Overhaul

So I love my incredible...best phone ever...haha. Which is why I'm making all these changes to accommodate it!
I was playing with it yesterday, and I ran pandora and navigation at the same time- during which, I called myself, and the phone call went thru. No freezes, no glitches, nothing. So Instead of just having cords galore when plugging into my car. Can I just buy a bluetooth cardeck and sync it with my phone and go from there?
Has/Is anyone doing this now? Advice is always appreciated- Thanks in advance!
I have a PIONEER FH-P800BT and its great. Bluetooth works great for calls and A2DP streaming. When streaming audio alerts come through also, so you may want to pick some that arent too obnoxious. Ipod controls work pretty well too if your into that sort of thing.
I use a bt stereo too. It works awesome. People can here me well and I stream music all the time. As soon as proclip comes out with the Incredible device holder, I'll be all set. I use a JVC KD-BT1 head unit.
I am using a Kenwood BT200 and I also seem to have no issues with music and phone calls
I don't have my Incredible just yet but I've been using a Motorola T505 Bluetooth in my car since before I got my G1 and haven't had any issues with it. Had it about two years now. It has a built-in FM Transmitter so I'll listen to Pandora or my own music through my car stereo even when people call me I'll hear it through the speakers. No one ever reported not being able to hear me clearly when using it.
I was thinking about this some more and the more I think about it, the more I don't think Pandora will play via bluetooth. You will definitely be able to play from your library

Yep, pandaora and slacker work via a2dp
Yes. I have DUAL head unit and works fine with A2DP BlueTooth with my Incredible and yes Pandora plays thru A2DP with no problem. So, go ahead and do what ever U R thinking of doing.
awesomee..thanks everyone..so i really just need to find a unit that has A2DP..cool. I was wondering what the difference between call placing and audio streaming in terms of bluetoothin' !!
I just ordered a Motorola T605 for my car (2001 RX300 without nav) and a Parrot MKi9000 for my wife's car (2006 saturn ion). I would have prefered to get the moto for both (since it's $100 cheaper), but her radio doesn't have a mute switch and probably would have been harder to install. I'm going to do the install in the coming weeks myself.
Kenwood DNX6140 BT setup works great
I have the kenwood unit in my Trailblazer EXT and got the car bracket at VZW store. The suction cup places the phone way out of convient reach any way you try so I use the holster part with a vent clip that I had from another mount from an XM unit I tossed in favor of Pandora. Nav, Pandora, anything else runs fast and flawlessly, phone calls great.

I have almost the exact same head unit. Works pretty well, I reviewed it here:

Stream music from HD2 to hifi

hi. i've heard that the HD2 can stream music to a hifi system. does anybody know if and how this is possible. thanks for your help.
Yes, connect with an Audio-cable to Your HiFi-system .............
nice. simple, low tech and cheap. and there was me thinking i could sit back and stream all my music from my hd2 to my hifi and control whats playing from the hd2, from any room in the house, wirelessly, without any wires, or cables, or hassle..........the ipod4 looks better every day.
i suppose what i'm really looking for is something like this:
QED Live uPlay wireless bluetooth audio receiver
or
Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver
both products got good reviews on Amazon. has anybody got any experience with this product or something similar?
thanks.
I have a Hitachi "Living Systems" Hi-Fi, and it has bluetoth built in. I CAN stream music from my HD2 anywhere within the bluetooth range. Quality is excellent to my non-HiFi ears.

Post 5.
Feel free to jump ship though, people who don't bother to research have iPhones.
I have an Acoustic Research Lanyard bluetooth headphone set that works very well for me. The nice part for you is it allows you to use any headphones you like. That makes it easy to use a headphone to dual RCA cable ($3) and stream music wirelessly. I got it on sale on Buy.Com for something like $23. I actually bought two more and they are still in their boxes. I figured either I would give one away at some point or I would use another new one if something happened to my beloved one I use all the time to listen to Slacker Radio and podcasts. The model number is Audiovox ARWH1 Mini-Bridge Stereo Headset. If you can still find it I would jump all over it.
thanks for all your comments. i think i'll take a chance with the QED thingy. i'll let you know how i get on.

Using EVO as MP3 player

This weekend, I lost my 1st gen iPod nano
I've been using my EVO in the car, and I really like it.
Who else does this? What are some tips?
For example, when I'm listening to music, and a text comes in, the music stops and the chime is incredibly loud through the car speakers. I would like for this to not happen anymore.
What are some good accessories for this?
Thanks!
Well the only way to stop the ringing is by turning notification sounds off.

some music apps have a setting as to whether or not you have disruptions. i think winamp is one, it can lower the volume and have a notification or no notifications. i just use the stock player and just set it to vibrate.
I use it as my MP3 Player...
I use this application called Audiogalaxy....it allows me to hear all the music that's in my PC through my phone...I love it!
I just have my notifications set to be really quiet all the time, but that's just a personal preference that transfers well to using the phone as an mp3 player.
I use PowerAmp; I'm a fan of the way it looks, the lockscreen widget, and I also like how I can have it start playing automagically when I plug the aux. cable in, and it stops when I pull it out. Eventually I'll get a bluetooth setup, but that costs money.
Someday after I get my google music collection properly tagged and organized I'll give the google music player a shot to see how it is, but right now with a 16gb microsd card, it seems to be enough for me to maintain a good enough collection.
I've just started using my evo 4g as a mp3 player for my car and love it. I used to use my ipod touch, but got tired of syncing music. Now I use my evo and the new google music beta with my evo connected to my system using an aux. wire. I never really had any problems with my notifications going off with the music playing.
It works good playing podcasts to, I use Doggcatcher (worth the 6.99) I drive all day and music gets old, there are tons out there depending on your interests, I like when calls come through the car speakers... hands free all the way!

In one of my cars I've got a Pioneer AVIC D3 GPS system with bluetooth. What's awesome about this system and my EVO is that the Pioneer unit supports A2DP stereo. So I can actually play my music through bluetooth, no cable connection required! Pretty badass.
The only bad thing about it is that Android bluetooth is ass because the bitpool settings are too low and there's no way to up them. As a result bluetooth sound quality sucks. On my old Windows Mobile 6.1 phone you could change the bitpool settings by editing the registry, and with my Senheiser MM100 bluetooth headphones I swear the sound is a good as a decent pair of wired headphones. Hooked up to my Evo the same headphones are unlistenable. That's why I still use my old Windows mobile phone as an MP3 player for the gym.
I listen to Pandora all day at the office using my EVO connected to an Altec Lansing Bluetooth speaker.
I had the "GPS Reboot" issue on my old EVO, so I just use it like an iPod to listen to my mp3's loaded on the SD card, and occasionally Pandora when I have WiFi access. Like having a free iPod.
As an aside, I keep my current work EVO stock (except for the launcher), and use my old EVO for loading different ROM's etc. Best of both worlds.
My EVO repalced my iPod months ago. I have a 16GB card, and I use PlayerPro.
Loaded with features and it looks nice! Well worth the $$$
I also use DI.FM Radio, which is linked in my signature.
If you like electronic music, you will *love* DI.FM!

[Q] N7 as a Bluetooth Receiver

I recently purshased the N7 ASUS dock, and I have it set up connecting to some speakers in my lounge. My question is: can I connect to my N7 through bluetooth and stream music through it to the speakers? I have friends over frequently, and I'd like for them to be able to play music if they would like. I know I could buy a bluetooth receiver, but it seems like this is something that could be accomplished.
Perhaps you should try it right now and see. But I doubt it'll work.

What would you be streaming from? Using something like bubble upnp you can stream music, movies, photos from one device to another. Don't even need Bluetooth. Just need both devices on the same network

I was hoping to use it as an A2DP pass through from my phone or my friends' phones. All the research I have done shows its possible, just incredibly difficult.
