After reading a bit it's seems to be a common issue on ICS and later. My device occasionally looses it's wifi connection, at which point I have to go to settings and turn the wifi off and on. Is there a better solution to this problem? My router is using WPA2-PSK and is on channel 7.
Wifi seems to stay on fine here, but I cannot connect to 5ghz, only 2.4ghz. Not sure if this is an issue or if the Wifi chip only supports 2.4 ghz.

it doesnt connect to 5ghz, unless theres a trick to it??? but use wifi analyzer and look for the strongest channel on ur wifi router to fix ur problem
Turn off multimedia support on your router if all else fails

Yea I'm having trouble as well. I have a telus smart hub at home and it is super slow. Then when I use my hotspot on my Gnex from rogers, it runs fine, although this app takes awhile to load.
Tried playing with the settings, only think I couldn't find was the 5ghz and 2ghz.
Try some more playing tomorrow and look for different routers

Can I ask someone with nexus 7 to check if it connects with wifi AD-HOC network without problems?
I use my old LG gt540 as a 3g modem + wifi router, but it works only with ad-hoc. For example my HTC Sensation can't connect to such a network.
edit: NO, it does not connect with AD-HOC
My Nexus 4 can connect to my home Wi-Fi, but it never actually works. (It's indicated as blue but nothing to do with the internet works when it's on) occasionally it will work for about 10 seconds then stop working again, and occasionally the signal will drop.
I have tried re-starting my router, restarting the phone, etc.
What should I do?
RMA that ****!

See if it works on a different router. My guess is your running a protocol that isn't supported well in linux. Make sure your using WPA2 tkip/aes with no fancy settings out there.
Also try running with no password and see if that fixes it.
I use avm Fritz Router and in my Network nexus4 works very good.

I have a AT&T s4 and a lot of the roms are giving me WiFi trouble. The wifi will stay connected but I'll lose internet.
Any ideas?

I've noticed some wifi issues myself, not exactly the same thing though. My wifi disconnects from 5 ghz wireless N constantly so I switched to connecting to my 2.4 Ghz AP.
It still drops out when sitting idle sometimes but not nearly as often.
In settings / wi-fi / advanced their is an option which possibility might help. This is just a guess
check for internet service, try enabling that maybe it will better detect the fact that the internet isn't working in reality, when it thinks it's still connected.
Also, do you have any problems with other wifi devices around the AP that your having issues with.
With Wifi the AP is often just as suspect as the client, checking for router firmware updates can sometimes help too.
All my other Wi-Fi devices are fine

Are you only having problems with a specific wireless router? Do you have a Dlink by any chance?
Funny I do have a dlink, if I use my Belkin access point it's fine. It's only when I connect directly to dlink.

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can suggest a fix, yesterday I upgraded to 4.3 using adb. I'm fully stock not rooted. today for some reason it won't connect to my home network. It's a cisco e2500 router and its on the 5ghz band. I tried setting different channels, turned off optimization....
what gives???

If i connect to the 2.4ghz band it works fine... wth
Seems like there is an issue with your router. Did you change anything recently in the router setting? Try restarting the router.

I had immediate problems with Wi-Fi after updating as well, I don't know what the new radio features but it turned out that a firmware update to my router had everything running smooth as butter again, actually better (a lot more reliable–YouTube app actually appears to buffer noticeably less and not break up, for example, downloads also initiate and complete more solidly) than it was under 4.2.2
ASUS RT-N66U
Nothing changed on the router i tried rebooting it also my Mac is still working fine

I have the same problem, since the update to 4.3 does not connect to the 5Ghz band.
I'm back to 4.2.2 and not connect, does it damage my hardware nexus 4?
Hmm interesting

I'm using an Asus AC66U at home and N66U at my office with no 5ghz connectivity issues.
Here's some things that might help you troubleshoot. Start by disabling the "avoid poor connections" feature in WiFi options. Install inssider or similar WiFi scanner to see if there is interference for your specific router config. Try removing the WiFi connection from your phone and reconfiguring.

Hi,
It's strange I have a similar problem. After upgrading to 4.3 my 5ghz connection came to a crawl. We are talking about 1.2-1.6 Mbps. But the 2.4 ghz was fine (35 Mpbs). Once I downgraded, re-writing the "radio" file, then the 5ghz connect was blazing fast again (50 Mbps). I'm convinced this has to do with the "radio" update, but I'm not sure what exactly.
Any suggestions? Currently I'm back on 4.2.2 as wifi speeds (PA rom) make more sense right now.
Thanks in advance!

I tried all of the above, every combination, reset my router, there are no other 5ghz overlapping networks, at this point it is something to do with my install. I wonder if a factory wipe would help...
That's my exact setup (E2500' did you set the Wi-Fi frequency band to 5GHz only on the N4 and give the band a different SSID from the 2.4 GHz network?)! Try forgetting the current connection and setting it up again.

yes the names are different, keep in mind the setup was working absolutely fine pre upgrade...

I'm pretty sure it's not your router setup and the radio upgrade, as I mentioned earlier. Try going back to stock 4.2.2 and see if you can connect

If it were the radio software specifically, then logically 5ghz would be broken for everybody, which is not the case. Perhaps the issue is device data specific... There has to be a better solution than staying on 4.2.2.

I have with wifi problems too, but with 4.3 and 4.2.2 version. At home everything works fine, but at work phone connect to router, but no Internet (internet work only 1-2s). Other devises with this router works fine!
I have even a different issue. The phone is stuck at Obtaining IP Adress every time now. I downgraded to 4.2.2 and it's still doing the same thing. It does work if connected to a different router, but not to my main one. I haven't changed any router settings either.
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with connecting to 5Ghz networks with the Galaxy Note 3. Others have posted similar items on other phones but are always met with generic solutions. Here's everything that's been tried and failed:
- Wifi Analyzer sees the 5ghz networks as Strong.
- Connects fine with my S3, Note 2, and PCs
- Does not connect at home to 5Ghz band or at work
- Auto network switch is off
- Wifi sleep is off
- Tried clearing cache in recovery.
What am I left with, a hardware exchange?
Any help is appreciated..thanks!
Try changing wife channels of your router.... I'm connected to my 5g now and have had no issues connecting recently. I did on my note 2 but it went away when the channels were changed.

I have the same issue at work, though... And why would I have to change channels when all other devices work fine??

I read that to many routers on the same channel could cause issues sometimes. I changed it at home and it worked.
