I recently put windows 8 on my cr-48 and it runs nice but with its tiny ssd, you get 2gb of space. I was wondering if there was anything that could be stripped out to get maybe 3-5gb out of it?

Did you use the 32 bit version? That one is smaller.
You can disable hibernate and delete hyberfil.sys. You can also decrease your page file size. Turning off system restore might also save space.
If you don't use the stock metro apps, delete the contents of the "c:\program files\windowsapps" folder. Refer to my other guide I posted in windows 8 dev/hacking.
Yeah, I do use some metro apps but I did the other things. What about language packs?

If I buy an app in the Windows 8 Store on my PC, can I install the same app on my tablet without having to buy it again? Do my purchases get transferred to my tablet? Do purchased apps automatically get synced across PC and tablet?

Yes, they will. The downloads are linked to your Live account, and not to the computer.
Also, free apps on the Previews will be free on the final RT as long as you've had them installed previously, so download what you want now

I have a Dell Inspiron 1121/11z and Dell hasn't updated their drivers since May. What are the alternatives to override the PS/2 Synaptic Touch pad to activate gestures until Dell, if they ever do, update the drivers (never buying Dell again buying a ASUS next time!). Is there a program? I tried Scribe and it doesn't work.
I have Windows 8 Pro fully activated.

download the synaptics driver from here, version 16.2.16.2 (N-C). I don't know what N-C means but I'm like you, using a 4 year old fujitsu laptop which definitely has no further support from Fujitsu. It works though. Swiping from left, top and right borders. Alternatively, you can check back to synaptics official website every now and then to get the latest drivers. I just checked though and the most recent one was optimized for windows 7. They should be coming out with something for windows 8 soon, hopefully.

I installed it and at first it said there was an error and I had to click yes to uninstall it. Uninstalled it. After running it again after the restart I got the same error (see picture below).
I ran it with administrator rights. Same thing. I guess I have to wait for the Windows 8 version or did I do something wrong? How do I enable gestures after running this?

hmm i didn't get any error. don't need to run it with admin rights. if u still get the same error, just uninstall it first then go to synaptics official website to download and install the universal drivers for windows 7. after that restart and try installing the 16.2.16.2 driver again.
Synpatics have uploaded there 16.2.21 Drivers for Windows 8 as well now.

Tested them and they work perfectly on my dying Netbook! No swipe from top feature but that maybe as the touchpad is too small

Also swipe from the top works on my netbook, its just as the netbook is so small, its quite difficult to do it as the spacebar is very close to the touchpad

It works (as far as I can tell), just find the apk and send it via Bluetooth to your tab and install.
Yes, it works! Use "app backup and restore" to grab the apk file from your phone and use that to install it on your n7.

This, I've had office suite pro for a while now and haven't had any complaints.
When I browse office mobile page in playstore, it says only compatible with Nexus 4. Says, not compatible with kindle hd and nexus 7. Same thing for Amex mobile. May be i can extract the apk of amex mobile from my nexus 4 and see if it works with my nexus 7.

Hi guys, recently I've bought Dell Venue 8 Pro and I'm new to Windows 8.1,Windows Store, Metro Apps.... I'm using 2G,so it's slow... I can't download any apps from Windows store... It's very slow and always stuck at 'Pending' status......
... So is there any problem?
And if not is there any way to download those metro apps and games via browser or idm ( like Android apps or desktop apps) without windows Store?
