I rooted my sgh-i337 using motochopper which I later found out was the wrong way for my model and proceeded to try rooting again where you format the SD card to exfat and got the same results as the motochopper method. It says the root worked and I had superuser but it couldn't install the su binary because it says it detected knox and superuser couldn't disable it. I thought knox was only in the 4.3 update but I have 4.2.2 and apparently knox. I'd just like to know if I should unroot and retry the right way or just unroot because rooting won't be possible for me. Thanks
Hi,
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-I9505. I want to make a nandroid backup.
I installed Rom Manager via the Play Store, and I clicked on; Install CWM.
After installing CWM I pressed on the firmware backup button.
My phone rebooted and showed blue letters: Booting Recovery. But I came into the default recovery from Android, not into CWM.
Why can't I access CWM? Rom Manager said it's installed.
Regards,
Michael
Maybe, you need to install a different kernel.

I have stock ROM from Samsung, rooted with Kingo Android ROOT.
Rom Manager said CWM is installed, how to un-install it if it doesn't work?

Using Kingo method you wont be able to flash custom rom/recovery. Root your phone by flashing CF-Auto root via Odin n then you can install CWM. Knox will be triggered.

Thanks for your answer. Do I need to un-root Kingo first, or does Odin overwrite it when I use CF-auto root?
And what will happen with my apps when I un-root kingo? (I have a few apps that require root).

Yes you have to unroot. You can do this from the Superuser app by clicking unroot. Cf auto root works best if the phone is reset to factory settings as this may prevent flashing errors of Odin. For your apps which require root , you have to back up them for future use as reset will wipe them. Hit thnx if helpd.
Hello Friends,
I just updated to 4.4.2 with Odin
then flashed CF Auto root with Odin
The result is: "There is no binary installed and SuperSU can not install it. This is a problem...".
I flashed TWRP already, but I have no idea how to update/install the binary in order to get proper root access
Can somebody help me please?

Get philz touch recovery. It has an option to reroot (install su binary) option in it
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I solved the problem.
I figured out that I used an older version of CF Auto Root which (I guess) contained an older version of SuperSU. I assume that this version had an outdated binary.
Downloaded CF Auto Root again, flashed it with Odin and everything is fine.
Thanks for your help, guys!
HI! My friend has an S4 i9505. He did full wipe and fresh install of NEE I9505XXUFNB9 4.4.2 (does the region matter?). Afer that full wipe again. then rooted with chainfire auto root and intallet philz latest recovery.
when it checks if it is rooted it succeeds(no prompot for root), but in other apps it says device not rooted,
Supersu is installed
what is the problem that I can't find?

Is is supposed to prompot for root access as it is set on Supersu, but it only says the system deny to root(gamecih2)(other apps kind of the same).
Supersu it is on default settings, and when open check root and click verify root it says it's root(no prompot for root access).
You can install the app Root Checker. When it says your decide isn't rooted, then try to do it again with odin

Hey guys,
I just flashed V11 of stock S5 +Note 4 mods by g00h, when I tried to access xposed, it said there was no root access, so I went to flash root (CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar - root name) and when the phone reboots, it just status on the "Samsung screen" and when I turn it off and turn it on I still don't have root access. In Odin it says "Pass"
Anyone know what's up with my phone?

Which Kernel your Note have?
If on Stock, try flashing XXUGND3 Kerne, root using towel root, then flash the appropriate Stock kernel.

I'm using a custom ROM. My version kernal is: 3.4.0-1955971. I am using a SM-N9005.
Fixed it. Turns out I didn't have SuperSU installed and that was messing up the whole thing -_-
