I rooted my sgh-i337 using motochopper which I later found out was the wrong way for my model and proceeded to try rooting again where you format the SD card to exfat and got the same results as the motochopper method. It says the root worked and I had superuser but it couldn't install the su binary because it says it detected knox and superuser couldn't disable it. I thought knox was only in the 4.3 update but I have 4.2.2 and apparently knox. I'd just like to know if I should unroot and retry the right way or just unroot because rooting won't be possible for me. Thanks

Hi,
I rooted my Note 3 the Root De La Vega way. At some point, I lost root (According to Root Checker). However, I realized that my firmware hadn't changed. Then, the latest OTA tried to push to my phone and, without thinking, I downloaded it and tried to install. It failed. I figured that I needed to unroot my phone in order to grab the OTA. I didn't mind losing root. I looked up how to do it and found a thread saying to do it through SuperSU. I tried to open SuperSU and got an error message saying that "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it..." I then tried to see if I could find the stock firmware and use Odin to unroot that way. I couldn't find the stock firmware for my particular device. Now, I don't know what to do. Please help.
Thanks
Bump?
Bueller?
Use Odin to reinstall a stock firmware. Should wipe everything on the device. Make sure you're on the current base by checking for updates. Then reroot using kingo and install safe strap.

Hey guys,
I have a Galaxy s4 I9505 which has been used a bit already. It reached me with already installed Super SU app. Since my phone is already rooted, i wanted to unroot it and found an option on it but it didnt unroot it, rather kept saying please wait and then i gave up. I restarted my phone and now when i try to open it it says there is no SU binary installed.....
Now, how can I unroot this phone so that i can update it.
Thanks!
By update you mean official OTA?
If it's rooted and knox is 0x1 then I don't think you will be able to receive any more official updates.
You might be able to flash them via Odin though.
Installing another superuser app might solve the su binary missing issue
Hi,
With Knox tripped you can still receive system updates, you'll not receive if you have System Status: Custom. And I agree on the latter part, the best solution for you would be reinstall stock firmware using Odin. There are plenty of guides out there, just search for it .
All the best,

Hi, I accidently rooted and installed cwm on my galaxy s4 gt i9-505, without disabling knox, and now I want to go back to the orginal samsung bootloader, (I don't not want to know how to get the stock firmware), I want to unroot and restore the bootloader, really need help asap, would be apperiated thanks.
Update: I'm on Android L 5.0.1, and installed cwm before rooting which was a silly mistake, because knox then countered that, and it's conflicting root problems when I tryed to root afterwards, but now I just want to go back to the Samsung bootloader, root issue fix but still don't know how to fix bootloader.
Not sure what is there to fix - if phone boots correctly it is good.
If you try to revert back to knox 0x0 I'm afraid it is not possible.
Flashing root and cwm doesn't replace your bootloader
How do you accidentally flash root and a customised recovery?

You are really mixing things up.
A custom recovery has nothing to do with Knox. A custom recovery gives no problems with Knox. It's impossible.
You are on the samsung bootloader. You cannot change it to a custom (there isn't even any).
If you want root just flash cf auto root and then delete knox. That's all.
Help me to root my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 XXUGNH6.. I have tried all the rooting apps like: Kingroot, Iroot, Towelroot, Oneclick root etc!!
I even tried CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 from #Odin, It also failed..
Actually I get superSu installed but while updating binaries it detect Knox and ask for to diaable when i click to disable it fails Again to disable knox I used various method downloaded superlocklite apk, Packages disabler apk, Non the app worked :'( Plz help..
Are you flashing the latest version of supersu.zip?
Yes sir!
I suggest flashing back to a completely stock 5.01 ROM, then flash TWRP, then supersu. I did this on several s4 i337m (Canadian version of the s4) running 5.01 and it always disabled knox and gave root access. I know the 9505 and i337m have the same processor.
