Not sure if this is the ROM (I am running the 1/13/14 nightly). I as well I am having issues with MMS. I am using messenger and if I try and send any more than a few word text it will fail to go through. Called Sprint and had them do a "push" to my phone without success in fixing.

Has this been resolved?
Any other issues?
Is this a very stripped down rom or does it have a lot prebuilt into it?
I'm getting tired of CM11 on this device - I feel like development was great and then the bottom just dropped out. Obviously I'm looking for a daily driver - does anyone with a L900 recommend this?

I meant to up date my post in this thread. Turns out, in my case, there were issues with phone and text services in my area and it was not the ROM.

In response to stability concerns...I have no problems at all with Omni. The previous nightly (1/16) even got the OpenDelta updater work just fine with Phil-Z recovery on L900.
Omni doesn't have a whole lot built in. Things like SuperSU and GApps need gotten separately.

How's battery life?

Or a mods could have moved it because it doesn't belong in its old location.
Release Candidate CM6 would still be essentially be a daily build. There are still serious issues within CM6.

What "serious" issues would these be? Other than lack of 4G (which is totally worthless, in my opinion), I see no problems with the latest build. Now that we have a fixed Market and Facebook sync I don't see any reason not to use it as a daily (even though I was using it since release). Cyanogen fixed the major Bluetooth and wifi issues, so what's still horribly wrong?

On all the nightlies I flash to my Evo, i was unable to access my sound settings, the default Browser would immediately crash upon startup, the market would constantly act up (the updated version included), and my widgets would break after every restart.
That probably only happened to me, but I'd still consider them pretty serious issues. Serious enough to nandroid back to Fresh 1.01 for now, at least.

Signal issues and battery life as bad as stock rom.
I have tried them all and they do have numerous issues. I have gone to decks rom With sense. Both have bugs but its the lesser of two evils by far.

All of the froyo roms have bugs, I tried Avalaunch before I went back to DC, but as long as the proper warnings were on the first post I didn't see a problem with the thread, it was interesting to track the development. Anyway I thought it was annoying since I was trying to find out who on teamdouche was working on wimax for the evo so I could check out his github but it seems the original thread on general is missing :/
It's in Q&A.

[Q] need help with decision about new rom

i have had my s4 for a while and originally had revolt on it, it was good but had a lot of small bugs that annoyed me. now im running liquidsmooth and its been my driver for a long time. its starting to get buggy on me and im bored of it. i have been away for some time so help me figure out what i want to do now please!
do i need to update MDL to MD9?
im running TWRP recovery, any significant reason to switch to CWM or Philz?
Is there any inverted gapps available?
is there any themed swype available?
im thinking of going with PAC rom as it seems it has the most of everything in one. any feedback or bad experiences with this rom?
if i go with pac to you recommend switching kernels? like chronic kernel or anything? or is stock on there good?
do any roms have the active notification screen like the moto x yet?
do any ASOP roms have a working IR blaster so i can use a tv remote?
also for myboy free (GBA emu) if i back it up with TB will it also save the game saves? game saves are not in the app but through the actual game.
SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS!!! THANKS

Perhaps if you would possibly ask one question at a time you might have better luck!
To answer all the questions you are asking in an accurate helpful way would take an
hour at least not even counting the time it takes to do a little research.
Good luck!

Hi.
In terms of the recovery method, it's all a matter of preferance really. I'm personally using PhilZ CWM currently and have never had the need to switch. The only difference I can recall is that CWM has touch capabilities whereas TWRP has the ability to queue zips.
In my experience with PACman ROM, while I can't speak for everyone, it seemed to have a few problems such as reboots and bugs like autobrightness freezing the phone for a little bit. I'm now on paranoidandroid, and it appears to be much more stable than PACman. Furthermore, cyanogenmod also seems to be pretty stable (assuming you're sticking to the AOSP ROMS).
Again, with the choice of kernels, it's all a matter of preference. Each one is different and there is no one kernel that is best for everyone. So I recommend trying different ones and reading up on which each offers. Be careful that not all kernels are supported for each ROM.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by active notification screens, but paranoidandroid and PACman have something called halo which makes notifications similar to Facebook chat heads, where notifications can be opened up in smaller sized windows.
As for the GBA emulator, I just restored one using titanium backup so I'll check for you when I get home, better not have been lost was halfway through pokemon firered!
Edit: GBA emulator save was backed up by titanium, just make sure you backup both app plus data

Polished

I've been using and making custom roms for several years starting back in the Windows Mobile days on the xv6700 and can honestly say this is the first device that I haven't wanted to put a custom rom on. The stock touchwiz UI and included/available samsung software is really polished and the battery life is incredible. I obviously rooted it and fixed a bunch of minor annoyances with xposed framework, but aside from that I don't think I'm going to make/flash a rom unless sprint gets really behind on future android builds.
Anyone else feel the same way?
No. I'd like to try cm or a smoother rom. I get lag on stock.

I agree with the OP on the smoothness... and also with you that a rom or two eventually would be nice.. but how are you getting lag?
Stock Rooted with Xposed and a minor build.prop edit and i have no lag what so ever. Sometimes the phone actually moves faster than what my thumbs were expecting. Just curious.
I should be more specific. The lag tgat I experience is in either Google hangouts, Google now search and sometimes when switching apps from the app switcher. The lag in hangouts and Google search is when I type I gets lots of lag. I've tried different keyboards and they all lag. I've had this same issue on the Note 3 and it only went away when I switched to cm11 for the note 3.
Ah. Gotcha. I always remove Hangouts and i dont bother with the Google Voice/Search. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the issue.

+1
I'm a fan of touchwiz. Like others I get the occasional lag but it isn't nearly as earth shattering as Samsung haters make it out to be.
Xposed has also become my weapon of choice for fixing minor annoyances.
Also I don't use google search but did get a little bit of lag in Hangouts. My problem was the LG G3 keyboard I installed. Since removing it, I haven't noticed the lag as much.
Lolliipop keyboard works fine woth no lag. Never use Hangouts. This 2-3 second lag on the recent apps that some ppl report , i have not experienced. Once i edited build prop after xposed ive encountered no lag anywhere. None. And the battery life is superb.

I think the wanam option under 'security hacks' to 'disable secure storage' fixes the lag too (I believe it basically has the same effect as the build prop edit).
So just install xposed, then the wanam module and go turn on the setting.

CyanogenMod Forum → Device Req Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

We know there are work in progress to port CM 12 on T810 and T710 but none for T815 and T715
So those like me with T815 or T715 or ... that are looking for CM for their device can post their request in CyanogenMod Forum request page
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/116361-samsung-galaxy-tab-s2/
Yes; even without phone fuctions is ok for start. I see note 4 exynos got decent cm13 now; I hope no impossible to give it for tab s2 lte. Would be great
Hey, I'm new to this, but I want to give it a shot to try a port for the T715.
I think it should be no problem to make a build without modem support.
So my plan would be to use the source of the T710, if @CTXz allows me to use his sources.
Next I want to try to integrate the modem/ RIL sources, but don't expect too much! I'm completely new to android development and this will be my first project doing myself.
Just did some compilings and ports, but never to new unsupported devices. Maybe with some help it will be possible for me.

It seems the main issue is battery and camera (quality).
i think i messed my t817v. i rooted using odin, and cannot figure out what to do next. it tries to install but gives error message, also my tab wont charge, and when hooked into odin it keeps "adding then removed" over and over again... now i have a tablet that does not work.

I would love that!
I also posted a device request at the CyanogenMod Forum.
What you always lose with CM is Bluetooth aptX support for higher quality Bluetooth audio, since they have no licence. And since now there is official MM for the S2 and it - with enough free storage and 3 GM of RAM and root available - really doesn't profit any more from a "slim" ROM than earlier devices did, can anybody point me to a real advantage of CM?
For me CM was never about storage, but about control. As far as possible (for I am no programmer) I want to decide about the rights apps have and don't. It starts with being able to delete them and goes on with being able to restrict their access rights. As far as I remember such privacy guard things are much more easier to accomplish with CM.

My TAB s2 is my first Samsung device.... ( other android devices being nexus 7, xperia z2 / z3, moto g 4G ) ...... I love the tablet but I must say the draw of a supported CM ROM would be the look / feel of stock android and the way the system behaves. Whilst with a rooted device you can remove bloatware, the system itself does not change. All of my other devices have been stock or only lightly skinned....and basically stock once you swap out the launcher.... so I have come to like that. I do find touchwiz to be a little in my face and I do notice the system intrusions a little...... a personal thing of course and I am not complaining as I made the decision to buy it knowing full well what Touchwiz was... but the hardware in the tablet and the price was the draw-card (got the WiFi version here in Aus the first month on sale for $540 ... in comparison, the Nexus 9 was circa $700 and the Ipad Air 2 64gb was $730). My nexus 7 2013 runs MM with less and smoother than the TAB s2 runs LP. I could only imagine what it could do with an ASOP ROM once the bugs were fixed.
Could it be due to a defect usb-port?

Do u know the difference between WIndows Phone/iPhone and Android, that's the kind of comparison u can use between Stock and CM.
Stock is the cute "little" thing with mostly everything that u may need ready to go.
CM is the smaller in size, much faster and with options to do almost anything u could think in a device.

Best Custom ROM For The Essential PH-1?

I've been thinking about flashing a custom ROM onto my Essential, but, unlike the S4's GoldenEye, there are no clearly stable ROMs I've heard of. So, if it's not a bother, could you guys recommend a good, stable custom ROM for beginners? I'd like one I can stick with for a while without any huge bugs to get me to jump ship. Thanks for reading. A response would be greatly appreciated.
P.S: Please, none of the "Stock is best". The amount of forums I've seen where those are the only replies are ridiculous, as they don't even actually answer the question at hand.
I don't think you'll get an answer to your question because I don't think anyone has tested all ROMs and compared them. Even then it would be kinda subjective. I did install Paranoid quartz v1 and am using it as a daily driver. Only issue with this ROM is that the device is not certified in Play Store so I can't install Netflix without some extra tinkering. Besides that, the ROM is awesome. I also tried the second version of this ROM, but it seems to have a battery issue.

Google play system update is still in Sept 2019, isn't it?
And can't make a phone call or receive call.

Haven't tested that out yet. It is on September 2019 build, though, But, I just called my carrier, and they picked up just fine. Although, that may be because it's my carrier. I'll try with a real number later, and I'll report back. Thanks for the heads-up.

If you have no sound when calling or receiving, in Phone - Setting - Accessibility, make sure Hearing aids is switch off. It's been turn on by default in some cases. I didn't know this until I change to another ROM.
