[Q] Turning on "Developer Mode" on a Samsung YP-G70 - Hardware Hacking General

I am exploring mobile development on a the Android platform.
I have a Samsung Model YP-G70
Firmware 2.3.6
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-G70UEKI8-CL566269
[email protected] #2
Build number GINGERBREAD.UEK18
It is my understanding that chrome://inspect/#devices allows you to connect to an Android device that is in developer mode and do debugging etc...
A video that I saw on how to do this says to go to Settings - "About the Device" and tap the "Build number" 7 times or what ever number of times your device's manual says to do to turn it one. The manual that came with the device does not cover this feature.
Junior Member - OP Join Date: Aug 2012 posted a post that stated the they had a Model YP-G70 in developer mode (they comment in the post "I have tried with developer mode on and off"). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859651
Does anyone know how to place a Samsung Model YP-G70 into developer mode.
Thanks in advance,
Keith E.

Developer options will be enabled, Then enable USB Debugging.
This for information and as displayed in video for Nexus

[Q] "Developer device" issues/questions

So I bought a supposed "developer edition" of the Note 3 and other than the words behind the battery which state the phone is a "developer device", I am wondering how you can tell a dev editon from a non-dev edition? Model: SM-N900V, SKU: SMN900VZKE. It had the unlocked lock icon with "Custom" below it on the initial splash screen when you first power it on, but I'm pretty sure that just means it's rooted.
Second question: There are several Note 3 models out there, and all the ROMs I've seen seem to be specific to one particular model. From what I gathered from Samsung's website, the V in N900V just means it's a Verizon phone. Does that mean I should be looking for ROMs for the N900, as those are the ones which should work on my phone?

Hi there, you are owning a very limited device.
Could you please help me by installing my app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and post some screenshots from the app?
And then enter the Menu, select [Note 3] Fake Detector and see what does it say?
Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah, that's what is listed under PDA Version.

Thanks for the info

You might want to remove the IEMI number from your post - never wise to make it public.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524572 probably the baseband was updated with the zip file. There is a Odin restore file for dev edition. That would probably update pda to mje
It's real. All they have is developer edition under battery nothing else. Ask me how I know. I have one...

[Q] SM-G900S (klteskt)

Model # SM-G900
Android version 4.4.2
baseband version G900SKSU1ANCD
kernel version 3.4.5 [email protected] #1
build # KOT49H.G900SKSU1AND3
I want to start by saying THANKS to all the xda community.
I never posted a thread because usually I can take care of everything after reading all the good posts that I need.
Do not consider myself a "newbie" but I have a problem that I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help.
I purchased an international version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 that CPU-Z shows the Model to be SM-G900S (klteskt) and for the life of me I can not get it to communicate with ODIN or KIES. PS: I can access the storage.
I tried every samsung driver, every trick for all windows versions every thread for MT64xx loaders and still no comm with kies or ODIN.
Samsung support mentioned they can not help because support is only for US devices. The phone is currently on the ATT network.
Any Help is greatly appreciated- Many Thanks

Did you find the answer?
Odin should work fine if you have a proper USB driver for your phone.
You said that you had tried every driver. That seems unlikely. Did you try searching the Korean site for a driver? Or downloading the latest version of Kies and using it to install a driver. Also look for the 900S support thread on this forum for more targeted information.
As a last resort contact Samsung Korea, in Korean and request the driver. I'd bet though that you could find it on the Korean site yourself if you try.
.
Look here http://androidxda.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s5-sm-g900s, step 1 is for the usb driver.
Hi there , I have the same problem , but I can go in dowload mode ! I try it in every way ! Keep pop up a korean thing !

What do you mean by MT64xx? Is it a MediaTek? If so, you may have a fake device?
Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Refurbishment Check' and see what is the result?

[Q] Galaxy s5 missing features

Hi. I received a Samsung Galaxy S5 as a gift about a month ago, but it's missing so many features I have no idea why.
My friend has exactly the same model, yet he has so many more options. For example,
I cannot edit the options for Power Saving mode
There is NO S voice on my apps page
The Sound Recorder looks just like the one from S4 and not S5, it also has NO options either, to configure it
Cannot change several options on the Camera, such as setting the brightness. The option is there, but it's greyed out, I cannot select it
I cannot update the android version. My current version is 4.4.2 and I cannot update it. As I access the 'System Updates', it does say 'Checking for update', but after a while it just says 'Network connection failed' no matter what. The signal for internet is the strongest, as well.
If I press and hold on the Home Screen, the whole options are not coming up either, such as seeing the current running applications. It just says 'Set wallpaper for', 'Apps and widgets' and 'Folder'.
What's wrong with it? Any way I can at least get the S voice?
Your phone might have a custom ROM. Go to settings -> About and list the following information so we know what we're dealing with here:
Model name
Baseband version
Kernel version

SM-G900F is the European version of S5 and from what I see there are some discrepancies with the kernel number ...
So here is my hypothesis:
A. It has the incorrect ROM, which means flashing a 900F ROM should bring back those grayed out menus
B. It is a clone and not the real thing! Try reading some more by googling this "3.4.5 [email protected] #1 sm-g900f"
Thank you for the reply. I will ask where has the gift been specifically bought from to ponder on the "clone" thesis. I really, really hope such is not the case. Also, will it only bring back the greyed menus and ignore the 'S Voice' problem?
Regarding the 900F flash, do you think it's okay follow this guide in the attachment? (Have to do it this way cause I can't post links)
I would not try to flash anything before you're sure what you have in your hands cause if it's fake and you try to flash official Samsung rom you would be in trouble. Download Phone info Samsung from play store and check there if it's a original s5
this seems to be common specs of clone s5 phones that i am guessing need the appropriate custom rom - would anyone know if the given specs/details above would be enough to identify a specific custom rom - i have the same specs and when i did a hard reset it let loose a mass of spyware, adware, downloaded numerous playstore games and porn site links all as soon as i put the phone online - i am therefore desperate to find a clean custom rom that matches the above specs - i am hoping as doves above for an appropriate custom rom source

[Q] How do I change the baseband version on my Galaxy S5?

Hi,
I've just found out that my baseband version is for the Taiwanese market (G900IZTU1BOA1).
How can I change the baseband version to G900IDVU1ANE1?
I need it to be changed, as I otherwise can't use NFC here in Australia.

The baseband version should have nothing to do with the ability to use NFC.

Hi AMoosa, this was on the Westpac Mobile Payments site:
How do I set up mobile payments on my mobile?
On your Westpac Mobile Banking App home screen, tap the ‘Pay’ button and follow the screen prompts to set up your eligible cards for mobile payments
For the Samsung Galaxy S5, you will need to have the latest version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware on your phone. You can find out by checking the 'Baseband version' field in the 'About device' options in your phone 'Settings'
For ‘Pay’ to be enabled on your Samsung Galaxy S5, this 'Baseband version' must be 'G900IDVU1ANE1'
This new Android KitKat firmware was made available for Samsung Open, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone Galaxy S5 devices from Tuesday, June 10th 2014
If your Galaxy S5 does not currently have the 'G900IDVU1ANE1' version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware, check the 'Software update' section in the 'About device' options in your phone settings.
There's 2nd massive list of firmware to download here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715487
Just use one of them.
